Chapter 45 Forty five
Alexandra blinked, clearing her throat before turning back, "I didn't ask."
"Alexandra, please." He stepped closer to her and she instinctively took a step backwards.
He halted in his tracks, his eyes noting they emotions embedded in hers. Her eyes were glassy, fixed on him and he could see how much she was trying to control herself. How much she was determined never to forgive him. Could he...still claw at her heart?
"You don't have to explain anything to me. I don't care." She said.
"I belong to you." He suddenly said and her eyes drew closer to each other, her brows furrowing tight with attention. What was he saying?
"Just know that, Alexandra. I admit I made a mistake in the past, but I'll do anything and everything to make you forgive me." He said determinedly.
"What makes you think I would forgive you?" She shot immediately.
"I don't know. But I'll never stop...even after doing my best. You...might have no other choice then." He said calmly and her eyes turned fierce immediately.
"Bring the game on then. Let's see if you can pay for eight years of my life." She smirked, her anger renewed afresh and Liam nodded.
"Will you give me a chance to prove that?" He asked and she stepped closer to him, covering the gap in-between them. He didn't budge. Bold. He had always been that way, Alexandra knew.
"There are no second chances when it comes to me." She said.
"Make an exception for me. To test your theory." He said, his baritone voice not breaking but his eyes showed how much he was pleading. Why couldn't he break?
He was trying to make a wager. Trying to test her pride. Would she make the bet, even if it meant everything concerning her vengeance? One thing she knew, was that she later forgive him depending on what he did, but..... could she give him a chance to enter her heart again? That was different.
"I'm not in an hurry, Alexandra. I'll wait for you, no matter how long it takes." He said, reading her.
"Fine. Let's see if you'd win this bet. Let's see how much you can crawl and beg." She said and walked away from the rooftop, leaving him in the wife place.
Liam took in a deep breath, his legs moving forward the hold the ring. He would definitely do his best.
"What's this?" Alexandra's attention was drawn from the paper in her hands, to the flowers in a vase, which were on her table.
"Someone sent this here." Doreen replied immediately and Alexandra's thinned.
"Who?" She looked at her.
"Mr Jordans." Doreen replied and Alexandra scoffed lightly, rolling her eyes.
"Do I have any appointments for today?" Alexa ignored it and changed to another topic.
"No."
"Alright." She said and when Doreen was about to leave.
"Tell Blue to meet me, right now." She said and Doreen bit her lips, nodding.
"By the way, ma." Doreen said and Alexandra raised her brow, "Do you still love me?"
"What?" Alexandra let out a chuckle.
"That's what the flowers symbolize. They are Daffodils." Doreen said and the smile left Alexandra's face as she looked at them.
"No, I don't." She replied with a deep breath, "Send flowers that symbolizes that to him."
Doreen's eyes widened in matter of seconds and she slowly stepped out of the office. Why was Alexandra so stiff? Both Liam and Ryder couldn't have a chance with this lady.
She went to the flower shop after informing Blue about his presence.
"What flower symbolizes I will never ever love you?" She asked and the floriculturist stared at her, tilting her head a little bit.
Doreen turned back a bit and clicked her tongue secretly. She knew what the woman must be thinking, that she was weird.
"There's no flower that symbolizes that." The lady said and Doreen gave a small chuckle as she turned back to the woman.
"How about, I don't think I will fall in love?" She asked this time around, and yes, the woman was really convinced that Doreen was mentally ill.
"There's no flower like that." The lady said again, impatiently.
"Then just give me something related." Doreen snapped.
"Why are you-"
"There's a flower that symbolizes rejection." Someone said with a calm tone and she turned, blinking as the light behind him shone into her eyes.
The corner of his lips titled up a little, knowing she was fascinated by him.
"Why is that light so bright? I'm a little bit photophobic." Doreen said to the woman and she sighed, shaking her head as she went to switch the light off.
"Thank you." Doreen appreciated.
His smile evaporated at that moment. She had not been blinded by him but by the light behind him.
"You were saying something?" Doreen suddenly leaned closer to him and he shifted backwards in suprise.
"There's a flower called yellow carnation, it symbolizes rejection." He managed to say and her lips widened in a smile as her eyes brightened excitedly. She held him by the shoulders, shaking him lightly,
"Thank you." She said and turned back to the woman.
"I want yellow car---what?"
"Yellow carnations."
"Yes, that. Exactly that." She said.
After getting the flower, Doreen practically skipped out of the flower shop and the woman shook her head.
"She's weird." She said.
"I agree." The guy said.
"So, what do you want?"
"Rose flowers."
"You were really promising." Alexandra said calmly as she stared at Blue.
His legs were glued together, his hands interlocked at his back and his head bowed. He couldn't bear to look up at her. He had made a mistake that almost put the whole of Velvet Vixen in a pickle.
"I'm really sorry ma'am." He apologized and she sighed slowly.
"I know you didn't do it on purpose. Thank God we were able to fix it. It would have been a hassle." She said and stood up from her chair, walking to the front of her table. She leaned on it, her hands supporting her weight.
"Blue? I have some connections abroad and they really want to train one of my members. I manged to get a slot."
He looked up at her, his eyes glassy.
"Are you trying to send me away?" He asked.
"No. But you have a lot of potential. And I must say, truthfully, that I am fascinated by your designs. Including the ones you did yourself. I really like that and this is an opportunity for you to get bigger. You'll still work for me when you return. At least, until you start your own business."
"I love it here." Blue said immediately.
"Then work for me when you are back. This is an opportunity you can never miss."
"What country is it?" Blue asked resignatedly and she smiled, picking a red card from her table.
"Paris." She revealed and Blue's eyes widened immediately.
"Paris?" He asked unbelievably and she nodded her head. His eyes got glassy and his hands shook as he collected the paper from Alexandra, his hands slow to open them. It took a moment for him to register what he was reading and yes, it was truly Paris.
His mouth fell open, a drop of tear falling on the paper.
"It's truly-"
The door opened and the sound of her silhouetteos broke the happy moment. With a fierce face and a very fast movement, Stella walked towards Blue and threw her hand across his face before anyone could register it.
