Chapter 19 Nineteen
"I can't believe he took them for a DNA test, what got into him?" Alexandra shot as she downed another glass of whiskey. It burned in her throat and she groaned lightly.
"You have to stop drinking now, you've got to go to work tomorrow." Louisa said,. dragging the bottle of whiskey from her front. She sealed it and placed it on the kitchen cabinet, a little bit far from Alexandra's reach.
"Mom..." Alexandra groaned as she placed her head on the table lightly.
"Alexandra, Liam has a right to know about his kids. I know he hurt you, but he had to know about his children. They are not only yours but his too."
"I can't give my children to him, mom, you don't understand. Liam is not worthy to be a father." Alexa replied.
"Let the children judge themselves. Did you see how happy Jade was when talking about their father? I understand he did something unreasonable but Alexandra, these children are the ones to decide whether they want their father in their life or not!" Louisa said firmly and Alexandra scoffed,
"Mom, is Liam your son or I'm I your daughter?" She raised her brow.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Of course I mean something. You are taking care of Liam much more than me! It's annoying and I don't like it, mom!" She shot.
"Alexandra, you'll listen to me. I'm your mother and I know the best for you whether you like it or not! Liam may not have anything to do with you, fine, that's your problem, but with the kids, he's their father and they decide for themselves!"
"No,mom! I decide for my kids until they are of age and that means that they have nothing to do with Liam till then."
"Mom..." Alexandra turned back hearing the voice of Jade, she had forgotten they were light sleepers and had been screaming into the night.
She gave her mother a glance as her mother walked to Jade and carried.her up in her arms, going up the stairs and into their room.
Alexandra sighed as she sat down back. She had gotten up as a result of the anger she felt. But she had a point,
Liam could not just come into their lives out of nowhere. They were now strangers and whether he was the father of her children or not, she wasn't going to let them get close to him.
She would speak with him and give him a final warning and that was that. No one would change her mind. She hissed as she got up from the stool and walked.jnto her room, getting on the bed.
...
"Mom, you would not believe it." Liam said as he opened the door and walked in.
Miller groaned as he sat down on the chair and picked up a paper, reading it. It was better than staring at Liam who had fallen his hand too much. Family was the most important and Liam had failed to do that.
Remorse didn't matter anymore as she had seen Liam try to move on for the past five years but he has never been happier than today after Alexandra left their lives.
"Your mom met with Alexandra." He said coldly after a while of staring at his son.
"You did already?" Liam asked as he got a seat.
"Oh," Antonia said sarcastically as she looked at him, "you met her too."
"Yes, I did. Few times already."
"And I hope you saw what kind of woman she had become already? You lost that woman son, you did." Miller opened the next paper as he shook his head disappointedly.
"I know I did." Liam muttered and Antonia sighed, looking at him. She placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Well, we might have been reprimanding you for the past five years, Liam. But now, you just have to move on. Alexandra had moved on already. She's married with a beautiful daughter."
"She had two children." Liam corrected.
Miller sneered as he turned back to shoot his son a glare, "And you have none." He said spitefully.
"Who told you that, dad?" Liam smirked, "I have two children, a daughter and a son. Two gods."
"Is Stella pregnant?" Antonia asked absentmindedly and Liam pursed his lips.
"I'm going to break up with Stella." He said after a while and Miller got up.
"I might have been watching you all these years but I would not see you become a stupid son. First, you lost my daughter in law, Alexandra, now you are abandon Stella when she pregnant for you? What kind of a son are you?" He shook his finger angrily at Liam and Liam pursed his lips.
"Dad, it's not Stella, it's Alexandra." He said and Miller blinked, dropping his hand.
"What do you mean, son?" Antonia suddenly got interested.
"Alexandra's kids are my blood, and she's not married." Liam shrugged and Antonia hit him hardly.
"What are you now doing here?" She asked, "Get up and go be with your kids."
"Miller, you need to see that girl. Very beautiful and shiny like her mother. I instantly wished she was my granddaughter unknowingly to me, that she was. I didn't treat her very well that day but from now on, I'll be the sweetest grandmother." She laughed and Miller smiled.
"She won't let me see the kids." Liam sighed and the house went silent.
"You mean, Alexa wouldn't let you see your kids?" Miller asked and Liam nodded slowly.
"I'll talk to Alexa, don't worry." Antonia said with a sigh and Miller went back to his seat, sitting down solemnly. Even he, couldn't be allowed to see his grandchildren because of Liam's silly mistake.
Liam took in a deep breath as his phone pinged and he picked it up. It was Eugene.
Eugene: Boss, Madam has asked to meet by tomorrow evening.
Madam? That was Alexandra if he was not mistaken. Liam gulped, she was asking to meet. He needed reasons, reason to keep his children. He had fvcked up big time and he knew it, but he needed to have his children and he would do anything for that.
