Chapter 78 MESSY PEACE

Chapter 78 MESSY PEACE
Godiva POV

“So what is it you wanna talk about?” I asked Jerald arrogantly with my arms folded.

“Zhino, I’m really sorry for my inappropriateness at the party, I really wasn’t supposed to do any of that,” Jerald said, looking the most humble I had seen him.

“So, what is it you did that you’re apologizing so desperately for?” I asked sarcastically, waiting on him for a response, but got silence in turn.

“Why are you suddenly mute?” I asked Jerald who kept mute, looking at me.

“Zhin, if you want, I can plead with your Mama to let us continue,” he said, avoiding my question.

“If you want this day to be your funeral, try that,” I barked at him aggressively and walked away from him.

Why would he even say such? Did he know how Mama felt towards boys? Was he even taking this apology serious? The more I thought about it, the angrier I became.

“Di, I’ll see you later,” I shouted to Dina from outside as I walked back home feeling worse than I had felt the previous night.

Locking the door to the house, I hurriedly went up to the balcony to see if he was still there. I was a little ecstatic when I saw him standing in the same position I left him.

I went back to check if he was still there five times, and for all four times, he was there, only for the fifth time he was no longer in sight.

“Hmph, I thought he was going to wait there all night like they did in the movies,” I whispered to myself, laughing aloud.

After preparing dinner, I went up to my room to continue studying since we had only a few weeks to the competition.

I had barely studied for up to an hour when a knock came at the door.

“Yes, give me a minute,” I responded to the person at the door.

“What are you doing here Di, aren’t you supposed to like be resting kind of thing?” I snapped at Di the moment I sighted her by the door.

“I am actually supposed to be resting, but what do I do when my caregiver abandoned me with random men?” Dina said sarcastically, walking into the house.

“Should I serve you dinner?” I asked Dina, laughing as we both settled on the chairs in the dining area.

“Wo guess who cooked today?” Dina exclaimed. “Mama’s little girl,” she teased smiling. “What did you prepare by the way?” Dina continued.

“Fries and chicken, there’s a big bottle of cola in the fridge to accompany the fries,” I replied, laughing.

“Don’t worry about me too much, I’m not hungry, the ice-cream is still holding me well I guess,” Dina responded.

Suddenly, an awkward silence filled the house. The only sound I could hear was the sound of Dina tapping the table with her fingertips, she usually did that when she was nervous.

“What’s with the tapping of your fingers?” I asked her, suddenly breaking the overwhelming silence.

“Girl, I really I’m sorry, I apologize for the way and manner I spoke to you last night. I wasn’t especially supposed to mock you for the unreasonable thing Jerald did, and I wasn’t supposed to call him your boyfriend in quote, so I’m deeply sorry. I’d understand if you don’t want to hang around for a while,” Dina said.

“Girl stop with the emotional blackmail pattern, if you wanna apologize, then you should at least do that properly,” I snapped at her fiercely. “You didn’t need to add the last part,” I thundered. “Seriously, I had lots of questions with what you did yesterday, I felt hurt and betrayed, however I won’t say I have no fault in this. I wasn’t supposed to blame you for forcing me out, but at the time I just needed to blame someone to feel better, I equally apologize,” I continued, bowing my head down.

After my speech, silence fell with both of us staring at each other in the eye for a while without blinking as if it was a survival of the fittest. Alas, Dina blinked, making the both of us burst out into laughter.

“I’m sorry girl,” Dina said attempting to make a cute face.

“Don’t even try that,” I warned, laughing at her.

“Yes I almost forgot,” Dina said, tapping my hands violently.

“Ouch girl,” I exclaimed in pain.

“Sorry,” Dina said hurriedly.

“You don’t wanna know what happened at school today,” Dina said, smiling hard.

“What happened girl?” I asked eagerly, waiting on Dina.

“I found out at school that the party ended after a fight,” Dina said, smiling.

“After a fight?” I asked, looking lost.

“Yes, after a fight,” she replied and continued. “Apparently, not long after we had left, the boys began looking around for us. They went up to that evil room thinking we were there, they didn’t see us, and our bags weren’t there no more. So they decided to look toward the garden, that was where Jerald met Slosh. According to what Chloe told me, Jerald asked Slosh if he knew your whereabouts and Slosh sarcastically told him you were at his place. Jerald got triggered and wanted attacking Slosh, when Slosh fired back at him and told him how stupid of a man he was to bring a girl to a party and let her witness his promiscuity without even thinking about how you must have felt.”

“What Slosh said wasn’t supposed to lead to a fight, or they weren’t the ones who fought?” I asked eagerly.

“Chill girl, I’m not done. So Jerald left Slosh’s collar he had been holding onto and wanted walking away when Slosh said, ‘anyways I had my time with her and she was fun.’ That was when Jerald got pissed and attacked Slosh, they were already rolling on the ground struggling when Ben came and took Jerald off Slosh,” Dina narrated, smiling.

“Wow,” I exclaimed in disbelief. “Why did Slosh say we had our time in that manner, it’d definitely bring the wrong ideas,” I said, placing my palm on my forehead.

“Don’t worry, Chloe said she told Jerald you and Slosh were just having a conversation,” Dina said, smiling. “That was why I tapped you the other time when you said they didn’t bother to look for us,” Dina continued. “And there’s more.”

“Damn this gist just got messier. Spill girl,” I leapt in excitement.
