CHAPTER 24: LUCAS

LIAM

We went back to France. Liam’s mom and grandfather were left there to manage the business there. They said we will be the ones who will mage the companies here in France. By the way, what is my job here?

“ Mr. Ronald, what is my position with the company?” I ask.

“ Young Master it’s CEO ” I frowned, Isn’t Sofie is the one owning that position.

“ What about Sofie?” I ask.

“it vice president Young Master, you were the CEO ever since because Young Lady was just a temporary CEO when you were not here,” said Mr. Ronald.

“ mmmm okay I go together with Sofie then” I was waiting for Sofie to come down.

“ what took you so long,” I said.

“ I fix the documents for your meeting later” what I have a meeting?

“let’s go,” she said so we went together. It took us several minutes before we arrive at the company, as we enter it the people are looking at us but I don’t like how these men are looking at my wife.

“ they are looking at you, “ I told her.

“ no, it’s not me. It’s you” she replied. We went to the elevator and entered our office.

“here is your office and that is my office, if you have something to ask you can come to my office,” she said.

“ here are the documents for your meeting later, take a look at it because it will start at 10 am,” she said. She went to her office. I can still see her because the wall is made out of glass so I can see what she is doing.

“ There are so many files on top of my table and one of them caught my attention. I look at the file because it has no label in it so I opened it. I was surprised when I opened it. It’s the pictures of Lucas and Fatima. Fuck! My heart beats so face that I'm having goosebumps and a piece of paper fell, there’s a contact number on it.

Why are these pictures here and why is this number here? It’s clear in the photo that it was Lucas and Fatima who are in the hospital but the other photos are pictures of a place where Lucas and Fatima are holding a child. What if I call this number.

I get my phone and dialed the number, it rings and someone answered it.

“ Hello?” I was stuck in my chair because I heard Lucas, I can’t be wrong it was Lucas’s voice.

“ brother?” I ask, It took a while before he speak.

“ Liam?” I can’t believe what I heard, Lucas is alive!

“ brother? Where are you? I’ll go there” I ask

“ You can't, Sofie might kill you” I was surprised said that to me

“ what do you mean?” I ask

“let’s meet somewhere, wait for my message. Make sure that Sofie will not follow you” I was confused at that time but I agreed to him.

While waiting for my brother’s message, I can’t forget what my brother told me about Sofie, why would Sofie kill me? Why is Sofie involved here? Until I received a message. Wait will only take me an hour to go there, that means they are still in France. I look at the time and I can still get to them if I leave now.

“ Liam! Where are you going?” ask Sofie but I ignored her and left my office.

I drive fast to get to the place where Lucas texted me, I thought they were dead but they are not.

“ Lucas!” I called, He turns his head but he looks at the wrong person so I raised my hand and he saw me.

“ Liam? Are you Liam, my brother?” I wonder why he doesn’t remember me.

“ yes it’s me, do you not recognize me?” I ask. We sit together.

“ I lost my memories last three years ago but the doctor told me that it can still get back” I am confused, if he lost his memories then why does he know my name and Sofie?

“ so how did you know about my name and Sofie?” I ask

“ The one who help me knows who we are and he told us that I have a brother and Fatima was my wife and she’s with me now. He also said that it was Sofie the one responsible for our death because he saw what happened” what? Sofie did it??

“ But why? Fatima is her friend too” I ask myself

“ I don’t know Liam but the one who saved us told it to me. He saw that the first bomb exploded to where we are and the second one is where Fatima was and they didn’t know about the third bomb because the people already panicked but he saw that Sofie was the only one without any scratch on her body so she burned her own back until she lost her consciousness so that she will also become a victim of the incident. That was the time that he rescued Fatima and me” he explained. I can’t believe what I heard.

“ We were taken cared of the one who helped us for a long time and he told us that he will do something to let you know that we are still alive and to make sure that Sofie won’t know anything about it that is why I told you to be careful because you might be her next victim” I was so angry, I can’t believe that I married a girl who is a murderer and acts like she was the victim of what happened.

Whatever her reason is I will not forgive her for trying to kill my brother she will not get out of it. Maybe he’s right if you will think of what happened before, how did Sofie able to survive that incident and had only her back burned. It means she is the one who planned it.

If she wants to play with fire then ill give it to her until I will be able to collect shreds of evidence for her to get in prison.
