Chapter 46 Windy and Luca Sleep Together?
Luca turned his head, his eyes filled with deep affection.
"What are you doing? Focus on driving," Olivia said uncomfortably, trying to pull her hand back.
Luca didn't let go right away; instead, he held her hand even tighter. "Olivia, remember, no matter what it is..." He paused, making up his mind. "Don't hide anything from me, got it?"
Luca's words were firm, and her heart trembled a little. Under his intense gaze, she could only nod. "Okay."
Luca slowly released her hand and focused on driving again.
Soon, following the address Olivia gave, the car stopped outside a quiet café.
"Go on in," Luca said, unlocking the car door. "I've got something to do and need to head back to the office. Take a cab home when you're done."
Olivia nodded and got out of the car.
Walking into the café, she spotted Elena sitting by the window right away.
It had been years, and Elena looked a bit older. The two hugged excitedly, sat down, and chatted about old times and Elena's life after moving back to her hometown.
Seeing the moment was right, Olivia took a deep breath and cautiously asked, "Elena, I came today not just to see you, but also to ask about something. I've lost a chunk of my memory from when I was around six or seven. I want to know if anything special happened during that time, or if I went through any accidents, like falling into water or losing my memory?"
Olivia watched Elena's expression closely.
The smile on Elena's face slowly faded. She held her coffee cup, a clear look of confusion in her eyes.
After a long silence, she shook her head and said, "I don't remember much either. Back then, it seemed like you suddenly got really sick. Your mom was super worried and took you away from home to a recovery center for treatment. I didn't go with you. By the time you came back months later, you lost weight and didn't talk a lot. You seemed to have forgotten a lot of things from before. Your mom later told me not to bring up your illness, worried it might affect your recovery." Elena sighed. "As for what exactly happened, it seems your mom didn't want anyone to know."
Olivia's heart sank. Her last bit of hope was gone.
Her mother had deliberately taken her away, and even Elena, who was so close to them, didn't know what had happened.
What was that forgotten memory really about?
Olivia felt more and more that her mother was hiding a big secret.
She chatted a bit more with Elena before leaving, feeling down.
With her mother gone, the only person who might know the truth had no clue about what happened back then.
Olivia clenched her fists. She had to get better and figure out what happened during that time.
Her mind was full of this as she tiredly returned to the villa. As soon as she stepped inside, she saw a strange woman in a black suit standing in the living room.
The woman looked to be in her late twenties, with a sharp gaze. Seeing Olivia, she nodded slightly, her posture respectful. "Madam, hello. I'm Anya. Starting today, I'm in charge of your safety."
"My safety?" Olivia frowned, a bad feeling rising in her chest.
"It's Mr. Vettel's arrangement," Anya replied. "He instructed that from today onward, I'll be with you the whole time, especially when you go to the hospital for treatment."
Even to the hospital? This wasn't protection at all! It had to be because of what happened at the hospital today—Luca got suspicious and sent someone to watch her under the guise of protection!
Olivia felt uneasy and even a bit angry. She needed her personal space to deal with her pregnancy and to keep searching for clues about her memory. With Luca's spy around, she couldn't do anything freely.
"I don't need a bodyguard!" Olivia's face turned cold as she refused outright. "Please leave now."
Anya's attitude was firm. "I'm sorry, Madam, but I only follow Mr. Vettel's orders. If you have any concerns, you'll need to take it up with him."
Olivia took a deep breath, trying to hold back her anger.
Fine, then she'd take it up with him!
She went upstairs to her bedroom and immediately dialed Luca's number. "Luca, why did you..."
"Is that Olivia?" Windy's voice came from the other end.
Olivia gripped the phone and glanced at the number. It was definitely Luca's personal phone.
"I'm looking for Luca," she said, her voice turning cold.
Windy's tone carried a hint of smugness. "Luca's not available to take your call right now."
Not available?
Olivia's heart sank a little. "What's he doing?"
Windy suddenly laughed. "He's in the bathroom of my hotel room, taking a shower. He just worked up a sweat. If there's something urgent, I can pass the message. Or, I can have him call you back after he's done?"
Olivia forgot to breathe for a moment.
Luca didn't go to the office but went to a hotel room with Windy? Did they sleep together? Why else would Luca be sweating?
A sharp pain stabbed at Olivia's chest.
She had long accepted that Luca liked Windy and that their marriage was about to end. But hearing this and imagining that scene, Olivia still felt disappointed and hurt.
She had loved Luca for so many years, only to end up like this. They weren't even divorced yet, and Luca was already doing something like this.
Olivia suddenly found it ridiculous. Luca sent someone to monitor her and restrict her freedom, while he was in a hotel room with another woman.
"Olivia, are you there? Is there something you want me to tell him?"
"No need," she said calmly. "It's nothing important."
She hung up the phone, tossed it aside, and sat on the edge of the bed.
Olivia could barely breathe.
She hugged herself, still feeling cold all over. So this was what it felt like to see Luca betray her with her own eyes. It hurt more than a divorce.
There was a knock at the door. "Madam, can I stay? What did Mr. Vettel say?" Anya asked politely.
Olivia closed her eyes, trying to calm down. "We'll talk when he's back. Go rest for now."
Anya hesitated. "But..."
"Go rest," Olivia ordered again.
The outside of the room went quiet. After a few seconds, the sound of footsteps faded away.
Olivia took a deep breath, trying to ease the sadness in her heart.
She had to divorce Luca.
Once her grandfather got better, she'd leave immediately.
Late at night, car headlights flashed outside.
Luca finished work and returned to the villa. He saw a message from Windy: [Thanks for helping me find this hotel. I'm really sorry for spilling coffee on you today.]
Luca didn't think much of it. Besides, he had showered and changed into new clothes afterward.
He didn't reply and strode into the villa.
