Chapter 47 Olivia's Unexpected Charm
Olivia sat in the room and heard the sound of the door opening.
Luca was back.
Soon, Luca came upstairs and stopped at the bedroom door. He turned the knob and walked in.
Olivia immediately caught a whiff of shower gel. She was extremely sensitive to smells, and her brows furrowed, her mood souring even more.
Luca switched on the light. Olivia sat on the edge of the bed, her face cold and distant.
"Why didn't you turn on the light?" Seeing that Olivia didn't respond, Luca walked to the wardrobe to change his clothes.
"Get rid of Anya. I don't need a bodyguard," Olivia said, her voice icy.
Hearing this, Luca paused while loosening his tie. He didn't even turn around. "No."
"Why not?" Olivia stood up, barely holding back her anger. "I don't need someone following me 24/7. It feels like I'm being watched. It makes me uncomfortable!"
Luca turned around, a hint of irritation in his eyes. "Is it because having someone around makes it hard for you to be alone with your Dr. Jason and talk about things I'm not supposed to hear?"
Luca was still hung up on what happened that afternoon. The thought of Olivia discussing things with another man—things he didn't know about—made him really uneasy. And on top of that, it was obvious Jason had his eyes on Olivia!
Olivia took a deep breath, clenching her fists. "Luca, you have no right to suspect me of anything with another man. What you did with Windy in the hotel room is way more disgusting!"
Luca froze for a moment. "What are you talking about?"
Olivia sneered, "You send someone to spy on me, but you're flirting with another woman. Disgusting!" Her words dripped with sarcasm, hitting Luca hard.
Luca's face darkened, his gaze cold and dangerous. "How do you even know about what I did in Windy's hotel room?"
"I called you, and Windy picked up. She said you were in the shower," Olivia scoffed. "What kind of thing requires a shower afterward? You know exactly what I mean."
Luca frowned and immediately pulled out his phone to check his call history. But there was no record of Olivia's call.
Did Windy answer his phone while he was in the shower and then delete the call log?
Luca's eyes turned ice-cold in an instant.
He hadn't expected Windy to pull something like this. But right now, that wasn't the main issue.
All Luca could think about was how cold Olivia's attitude was.
He narrowed his eyes, clearly annoyed. "I didn't do anything with Windy. I just took a shower there. Olivia, you keep saying you want a divorce, so why are you getting so mad and jealous over this?"
"Who's jealous? I just think it's gross!" Olivia stepped back as Luca pressed closer, her face full of disgust. "From now on, don't even think about touching me or sleeping in the same bed with me."
"You think I'm gross?" Luca's eyes flared with anger. He reached out, grabbing the back of Olivia's neck to stop her from pulling away.
He leaned down and kissed her lips forcefully.
Olivia froze, then started struggling right away.
"Let go of me!" Olivia pushed against Luca with both hands, her nails accidentally scratching his chin.
A sharp sting hit him, and Luca let out a low grunt, releasing her.
He touched his chin, and his fingertips came away with blood. Olivia was breathing heavily, still glaring at him stubbornly.
Suddenly, Luca didn't feel like being angry anymore. Instead, he felt oddly helpless. "Great. You've thrown up on me, slapped me, kicked me, and now you've scratched my face. Are you just hoping I'll drop dead?"
Olivia blinked, a bit stunned. She hadn't realized she'd been so harsh with Luca.
Feeling a little guilty, she blinked again but refused to back down. "You started it!"
Luca took a deep breath to calm himself. "But you've hurt me so many times. You owe me something for that. Otherwise, I'll tell Grandpa that I want to sleep with you, but you refuse and even hit me."
Olivia's heart tightened, and her eyes widened. "How can you be so low?"
"You can say no," Luca shrugged casually.
She was completely out of options. "What do you want?" Luca was definitely going to come up with some annoying condition. Olivia braced herself, straightening her back.
"First," Luca held up one finger, "when you go to Jason for treatment, you leave right after. No chatting about other stuff, no private contact, and no meeting outside the hospital!"
Olivia was taken aback. Was this condition mostly aimed at Jason?
She thought about it seriously and nodded. "Fine."
"Second," Luca's gaze deepened, "for the next month, we sleep together, and you have to cooperate fully in pretending we're a loving couple."
Olivia frowned instantly.
Luca didn't give her a chance to refuse. "Just sharing the same bed at night. Grandpa needs proof, and you don't want his condition to get worse, do you?"
By bringing up Linus's health, he shut down all of Olivia's objections. She could only nod. "Fine, but get rid of the bodyguard."
Olivia's compromise eased some of Luca's frustration. Most importantly, that Jason guy would have to stay far away from now on.
Luca went to the bathroom to deal with the scratch on his chin. When he came out, Olivia was no longer in the room.
He went downstairs and found Olivia sitting at the dining table, eating. In front of her was a bowl of nutritious oatmeal.
The maid saw him and quickly smiled. "Sir, since Madam often feels unwell and doesn't have much of an appetite, we made her this bedtime snack just like you asked."
Luca nodded, his eyes settling on Olivia.
Olivia heard but didn't react, quietly sipping her oatmeal.
She hadn't expected the oatmeal to be something Luca had asked the housekeeper to make for her. But earlier, he'd been so cold, even having someone keep an eye on her. What was he really up to?
They were about to get divorced, so why did he still care about her...
Luca sat across from Olivia at the table, eating oatmeal too. There was ointment on his chin, and the scratch looked kind of deep.
Feeling uneasy, she coughed lightly. "Does your scratch hurt?"
Luca raised an eyebrow. "Are you actually worried about me? That's rare."
"You..." Olivia felt choked by his words, a bit frustrated.
Before she could say anything else, Luca put down his bowl and sighed dramatically. "Of course it hurts! You caused this scratch, so you're responsible for it."
"I already agreed to your conditions. What more do you want?" Olivia glared at him, annoyed.
But to Luca, her angry look wasn't intimidating at all. Instead, he found it kind of cute.
Luca leaned closer, pointing at the injured spot. "Kiss it better."
Olivia froze, staring at his face as it got closer. She gripped the spoon in her hand tightly.
Luca didn't look like he was joking, and his eyes were urging her to do it. Fine, just a kiss then.
Olivia gave up resisting, puckered her lips, and was about to kiss his scratch when suddenly, Luca turned his face and quickly pecked her on the lips.
