Chapter 16 Kneel and Beg Me

Her tone was filled with overwhelming hatred, and the anger in her eyes seemed to be enough to freeze Jessica to the core.

The magnificent hall instantly felt like a frozen cave.

Jessica couldn't believe it, shaking her head and sitting on the sofa, murmuring to herself, "You are still alive."

Her eyes were in chaos, full of worry.

The figure she saw at the hospital yesterday must have been her.

The things she had done...

No, it must not be revealed.

Jessica only panicked for a moment before calming down.

Jennifer still needed to find a job now, which meant she hadn't been doing well.

With her current status and position, she could handle her.

Jessica gave a cold snort, a cynical and vicious smirk appearing on her lips as she arrogantly stood in front of Jennifer.

Her tone was full of provocation and mockery, "Jennifer, so what if you're alive? Everything you have is still under my control."

"For example, you want to be a home tutor, but as long as I say no, no one will dare to hire you."

Jessica played with her long hair and whispered in Jennifer's ear, "Unless you kneel and beg me."

The contempt in her eyes was filled with pride and laughter.

"In your dreams." Jennifer retorted with a hint of mockery, her eyes sharp as she stared at Jessica, "Even if you kneel and beg me, I won't take this job anymore."

Jessica was surprised by her defiance, followed by a cold squint, "Are you provoking me? Then I'll make sure you never find a job."

"Really? Let's see about that."

Jennifer tore up the prepared materials in her hand, gave it a hard toss, and flung it right at Jessica's face.

Bits of paper-like knives scratched Jessica's face.

Painful and humiliating.

Jessica's expression changed dramatically, raised her hand to slap Jennifer, "You slut, how dare you. I’ll teach you a lesson."

But before her hand could fall, it was steadily caught by Jennifer, gripping her wrist tightly.

Jennifer said in an indifferent tone, "Okay."

This indifferent feeling was the best retaliation against Jessica's rage.

Then Jennifer sarcastically glanced at Jessica, slammed the door, and left.

The door slammed with a loud bang, making the glass tremble.

"Such a slut."

Jessica yelled in anger, her eyes showing the fierceness of wanting to destroy Jennifer once again.

After leaving the villa, Jennifer felt cold, as if all her strength had been drained.

She never expected her first job would be related to Jessica, truly bad luck.

As Jennifer was thinking about what to do next, the phone rang.

It was a call from Michael, probably William woke up and wanted to find her.

William loved her very much.

Jennifer was about to answer but hesitated for a moment. Michael had already given her a card indicating that they should have no further contact. At this time, it would be best not to answer the call.

Jennifer felt a hint of loss in her heart but reluctantly pressed the reject button.

Yet, in the moment her finger pressed down, her heart also sank to the bottom of the valley, feeling a slight pain.

However, it seemed like there was a dialing machine on the other end of the phone, as the calls kept coming without interruption.

It felt like William would not stop until Jennifer answered the phone.

It could be imagined how anxious William was.

Jennifer was sad, and it took a while for her to adjust her emotions to answer the phone.

Before she could speak, there was an urgent and worried cry from William on the phone, "Why did you leave without telling me? Why didn't you answer my calls? Do you dislike me now?”

"Please don't leave me. Please don't ignore me..."

William was crying so hard that he was out of breath, and even over the phone, it was heart-wrenching to hear.

Listening to the hysterical questioning, Jennifer felt as though her heart was being stabbed a thousand times, trembling with pain.

In a panic and full of regret, she explained, "William, please don't cry. I didn't mean to leave you. I just went for a job interview."

"Can you stop crying now?"

In the past, when Jennifer comforted William not to cry, William would stop immediately.

But this time, it seemed that William was too heartbreaking, even if he wasn't wailing loudly, he couldn't stop sobbing.

After a while, he finally asked, "Where are you? Dad and I are going to look for you now."
