Chapter 26: Let Me Go

Chapter 26: Let Me Go
Six Months Later
...
The office was nothing much of a wow, just a normal decent office equipped with modern furnitures and accessories. One large glinting glass shelf hugging the wall from which black file hardcovers could be seen piling up in perfect arrangement, another large mahogany table along with a comfortable boss type of chair stationed at the epicenter, two extra chairs, a printer balanced on the brown wooden drawer and a few other small accessories here and there.
“Miss Park... We have another parcel for you here” The Secretary informed, her lips dripping with moderate amount of respect as she patiently stood by the door, heaving the weight of a sealed package in her hands. From head to toe, she was dressed in formal black and white uniform attire and a black high heel covers that preciously embraced her delicate feet.
The boss female behind the mahogany desk was fully engaged with the contents of a file and didn’t bother to look up “Is it from Jalan Marco?” She asked with an undisguised irritation in her voice.
“Yes Ma’am” The Secretary replied, dropping her shoulders with the weight of the package as though she was carrying a whole universe.
“Trash it” The boss ordered.
“But...”
“No buts... Lily. You know I hate hearing that word” Miss Park Anna now threw a glare at her secretary Lilian McClain ready to lash out her frustrations “You should do as you’re told if you don’t want to lose your job. Don’t think I won’t fire you just because Mom has your back... Do as you’re told and trash it out!” She wrapped up with a yell.
“Yes... Ma’am” Lilian nodded her head and moved out of the office with the package, wondering what she did so wrong to deserve that level of scolding.
Park Anna’s Father was the Founder of J&J textile and fabric company. Because she had to make a tough decision of quitting modeling as a results of the unfortunate happenings in her life, Anna now work as a part time manager to earn money in her Father’s company. The stress of juggling work and studies make her want to blow up on anyone.
After Lilian had left, Anna massaged her temples and rest her back on the chair for a moment. The thoughts still make her feel so angry and betrayed. After everything those men did to her, she can’t believe that Nate Thunderberg didn’t go to jail because of his DID. The rest of the accomplices including Jalan Marco and Sino Yamato escaped with paying a fine. And now Jalan Marco is back to bother her life. He’d confessed in court that there was no sort of marriage ties between her and him, but he keeps on acting like her husband. Does he think she is still the same helpless wife in love?
Anna looked at her wrist watch and saw the time has ticked to 2:53pm, but she still haven’t had lunch. Her stomach was growling with hunger so she hastily cleared her desk and stack up the files neatly before she walked out of her office. She was done for the day, and was craving to go home and make ramen. Now she’s no more a model, she can eat whatever she crave for.
Immediately Anna had walked her heels out of the building, her eyes fell on Jalan Marco’s latest SUV parked beside her jeep. Her brows slightly crease, feeling like her anger was beginning to accumulate. Her heartbeat shot up as she headed straight to her car and unlocked the door to quickly drive away. She’d always avoided him wherever she sniffed his presence but he can’t stop stalking.
Jalan Marco didn’t get any feedback from Lilian McClain whether the parcel has been successfully delivered or not, that was the reason why he waited.
On sighting Anna, he stepped out of his SUV and stormed his feet to the jeep’s door, holding it back before it could finally close “Hey. We need to talk” He said rudely, to the woman now firing him with glares.
“I don’t have time. I told you its over between us. I have nothing to discuss” She instantly rejected the idea.
“I have something to talk about with you” He wanted to be rude and grab the stubborn woman out and just start kissing her if she refuses him, but again, something in his heart tells him that’s not the way. She’s torturing his heart too much because of resentment. He did her wrong in the past but hasn’t she have enough of her sick revenge? Another part of his heart sided with his thoughts.
“You have two minutes to say what you want to say now” Anna crossed her hands together, waiting for him to get done with talking.
“We talk over lunch”
She fired him with another glare, debating whether to yell out profanities and start pulling out his hair, but she swallowed the bitter feeling and glanced at her wrist watch again. Why does she even feel curious to know what he has to say? She hates herself for not being harsh enough to this bastard.
“Get into your car and lead the way” She pulled the door to shut it, but he pulled back and held it. His face still hold no sign of soft emotion. How can she even get back with this sociopath?
“Put on your seatbelt” He added coldly before he let go of the door and stormed back to his SUV.
Time Skipped
They were seated face to face alone in a VIP lounge with different dishes displayed on the table, but neither was eating nor talking, only silently throwing glares and muttering profanities under their breaths.
“I don’t have forever” Anna started “I thought you had something urgent to discuss. Have you lost your ability to speak?
“Let’s eat” Jalan picked his spoon and fork to begin slicing the grilled meat.
“Enjoy all the food. Now if you’ll excuse me” She pushed her hips back on the chair and stood up.
Jalan dropped the utensils, irritatingly “Sit down... Anna”
The orders seemed to have fallen on deaf ears as the stubborn woman started to walk out on him. Anna knew he’d be coming at her so she raced to reach the door but her heels didn’t cooperate as Jalan caught hold of her with his two hands on her waist. He twisted her hips and turned her over, his face only an inch closer to hers as he gazed at her with an aggressive look.
At this point, Anna felt like Jalan’s touch was burning her skin. Her body slightly trembled and she felt like she has become a weakling, hearing her own heartbeat pounding hard in her chest. Somewhere in the silence, his slightly aggressive breathing sound covered her own laborious breath, and she could read through the smoldering look on his face.
“I know you want me” His words flew out in a raspy whisper that made her cheek flushed with redness.
“Let me go...”
Jalan ignored her. Even though she’d been harsh and hard on him ever since the court trial was over, he couldn’t stop having feelings for her or secretly yearning to touch her. Now that she was so close, his mind was going crazy to do everything he ever wanted to do. He couldn’t bottle up his feelings anymore.
