Chapter Forty-Eight
Cirdan:
The first place I should have started from in searching for King Elros was the queen palace, I really never thought that she would be egotistical enough to try and hide him close to her, or so I thought.
I was already down to one day and I was panicking. I had not gone home in two days even though I sent words to my father that I was alright, and he should start amassing the army of the Folk very quietly that there will be a sign and then they can charge forward.
I knew that I should be looking for my mate, but I did not even know how to start or where to start from. At least to some extent I knew where the king would be or who took him. The queen would not have kidnapped King Elros if he had not stumbled onto something, I was seriously hoping that, that something could help Iris and whatever was happening tomorrow.
The Light castle was empty. The guards were few as if they were pulled somewhere else when I finally arrived there. The current residence of the queen.
I had no other option or place to check except this one.
I walked slowly, trying my best not to walk into anybody as I felt my link to other folks, trying to see if I could feel another, each race had the ability to locate another of their race and that was what I was hoping on. It was not much but it was all I had and quite frankly I did not have enough hope for this particular location.
That was why I was completely shocked when I felt a strong tug, like I was not the only one tugging but someone at the end of the tether was tugging back. I did my best to hurry silently as fast as I could to follow the tug and I kept pulling but the pull at the other end was growing weaker and so I when I stumbled into the prison, having to blast the guards in front with a sleeping spell, I stumbled to see the king lying weakly inside a dome formed by crystals.
That woman imprisoned the king. The king lifted his head, maybe because he felt the bond between us and smiled when it saw it was me.
“Do me a favor son, and help me out of here?” He said just before he collapsed and I moved quickly into action, moving the crystals away so that the dome was broken and then I carried the king with his arm over my shoulder and stumbled away with him as soon as we came out of the castle, the protection dropped and I teleported to my room, with the king hanging on my shoulder.
“Cirdan.” My mother exclaimed in shock.
“Get a doctor mother, hurry.” I dropped the king on the bed, checking for his pulse and wondering if he was going to survive this, he had to. He did not have any other choice.
***************************
The Physician had come and gone, I watched as the king slowly became conscious, people were milling around in the room, keeping watch over the king.
“Your majesty.” I called, keeping my voice low. Everybody turned to look at the king even if they did not come nearer, they knew better than to crowd him, especially when he needed air.
“Cirdan…” He muttered.
“Yes, sire?” I asked, pressing closer to his bed.
“Iris…” His mouth formed. A glass of water was pressed into my hand, and I gave it to him. He took some sips from it before he had enough.
“She is not herself; they were talking about some deadline; it expires this night.
The king eyes snapped open as he sat up suddenly. Cries sounded all over the room as people tried to get him to lie back but he refused.
“The demon is in control.” The king stated as I frowned.
“Demon?”
“Nambra placed a demon in Iris body, they plan on summoning his pack, she wants to redefine everything that is Faery.”
Now that the king had spoken, information slammed in my mind. I didn’t even bother trying to assimilate. I just started talking. “More effective demon summoning happens at midnight.” I looked at the clock to see that I had less than hour more.
“Do you know where?” I demanded but the king shook his head.
“I wish I did.”
That was all I needed from the king before I rushed out of the house and as soon as I was out, I teleported to school. The alarm rang but I didn’t care, I sprinted up the stairs and anybody that tried to stop me, I froze with a glance, stopping them by placing them in huge ice blocks.
“Cirdan?” Vine asked confused when I banged on their door.
“Where is Iris and Finn?” I demanded.
“I don’t really know?” He answered. “What’s going on man…?”
“Do you have any idea where they could be?”
“Did you check their room?” Vane asked, Popping his head of his room.
“I don’t need to. She is not there. Have there been any place they have been hanging out recently?” I demanded.
“Well, the cliffs. They apparently love there; they keep take red paints to paint something there.”
“Thank you.” I replied as I slapped my forehead. Of course, they get to summon demons at a cliff just to sink in how a pack is invisible.
“What is going on?”
“No time to explain, get as much guards as you can and meet us there immediately.” I said as I ran out.
