Chapter Forty-Seven
Cirdan:
The king is missing, and I was one of the last people to see him, but I knew more than any other person what could have happened to the king or where he went. He went to confront the light fae queen and then he went missing. That was not a coincidence but before I could do anything, I needed to inform Iris about her father. She was in a better position to help him out of the queen clutches and besides she must be going crazy with worry.
I would need to sneak into school and see Iris but for that, I would need a disguise, something that would hide me completely from others but my mate. She would recognize me, and it would be easier to do this.
Now all I had to do was to leave the ever-watchful gaze of my mother without causing her to raise an alarm. And that was not going to be easy.
“You have not been eating well for some time now Cirdan, I am worried.” The woman in question said, entering my room without knocking.
“Mother, I could have been naked.” I complained and she just rolled her eyes.
“Why would that stop me, I can only really understand your need for privacy if iris was here, after all she would been feeling a little shy, but you never had a problem with me in your room before.”
“Because you did not always barge in, you respected my space then.”
“Then you had not gone to jail or had a restraining order from Iris placed on you by the council themselves. They will not give a second chance and that is the reason why I am so watchful of you currently.”
“I should be with my mate.” I said, looking at my mother who bit her lips as if she was trying to prevent herself from saying something which she should not mention. “When you met with father, you were already pregnant with me before the six months marker, it is already more than six months since I met Iris.”
“I know and it is not fair…” She started but I cut in.
“Exactly, it is not fair, and I get that you are trying to make me feel better about this whole thing, but you are not. I am losing weight because I am going through enough as it is now can you please let me go through it alone and process all that is happening without making me worried about my mother seeing me break down?” I demanded, piling up the guilt of what I was not feeling so she would feel enough guilt to leave me alone.
“You can break things and release all the pent up feeling you have inside Cirdan, I will be here to hug you when you are done.” She offered and she moved to hug me, but my door slammed open, and my father came in.
“I have allowed this go on for long, Tehisa, give the boy some room to breathe, you cannot keep mothering him, his mate is the princess and will soon be the queen, he will be by her side, he knows he needs to be making decisions and having his decisions obeyed.”
“But.”
“He has a mate Tehisa.” My father said firmly. “You will not cuddle him when he has reached adulthood for all intent and purposes. Let him be alone if that is his request.”
My mother was still grumbling even as my father dragged her away from my room. As soon as they were gone, I went to my door to use the bolt which I had not used in a while and then I opened my window as quietly as possible.
I was already in trouble with my mother for lying, I might as well just complete everything so I know that I would be fully deserving of her punishment.
She was so going to kill me for this. I grimace as I jumped through my window.
***************************
The first pointer I should have had that something was wrong with Iris was the way the twins were scowling at her. I could not very much meet them and ask them what was wrong since I was in disguise, and they don’t know me and also I was not allowed in the school compound.
The second pointer I should have had was the flock of girls surrounding Iris with Finn being the only man around her and although he was smiling, he looked like he was having a rough time with is face pale. And he constantly had to restrict iris hand movements as if he was correcting her movements.
“I don’t understand when the princess became such a huge slut.”
“Something is up with her.” I paused as I listened to the whispered conversation taking place behind me. “She fancies boys, not girls, and she has a mate, for goodness’ sake. Her mate was taken from her and now her father, it is really no surprise that she is acting so unlike herself.”
“But still, girls. What were they thinking flocking towards her like that? Someone who already had a mate.”
“I heard that she was the one who wooed them, and her game is strong.” The boys laughed as they moved away. They conversation was so weird that I did not bother to pay any more attention. Their words were confusion.
It was not until Iris passes where I was without giving a pause and the bond barely shook that I realized that this was worse than I suspected.
Then Iris grabbed a girl and in full view of everybody, she kissed her on the lips, a long kiss that had me gaping.
Finn dragged Iris away from the girl, apologized then pushed Iris away through another door, leaving their droves of admirers or rather Iris droves of Admirers behind.
I needed to know what was going on. I did not even bother to hide the fact that I was following them, I snuck through the door just to see Iris pin Finn by his neck to the wall.
“Look, I don’t know what your problem is but if I have to act like I am a fucking seventeen year old for the next three days then I better get some entertainment out of it, and you don’t get to stop me.”
“Queen Nambra would hurt you if you killed me.” Finn gasped out, struggling against her hold and Iris dropped him.
“But you will be dead. That is going to happen if you don’t butt out of my business,” Iris threatened then walked off spewing curses. I turned back and went through the door I came in, shocked at my discovery.
I knew my mate and that thing might look, talk, and sound like my mate but it was not. My mate did not have the power to cause Finn to fear. That was not Iris.
I needed to find the king and I had three days to do it, something bad was going to happen. I didn’t know what, but I knew that I had three days.
