Chapter 145 Chapter 145
Chapter 145 Chapter 145
By the time Chase and the guys arrived at the club, the sky had already darkened.
Chase barely waited for the car to come to a complete stop before he pushed the door open and stepped out. His eyes immediately scanned the entrance.
"This is the place." He said, his voice tense.
Jace got out beside him while Scott and the others followed from the second car.
"Let's go." Jace said.
Chase immediately headed toward the entrance, his heart pounding harder with every step. All he could think about was Logan, and he silently prayed that they hadn't arrived too late.
The bouncer stopped them from entering, and Chase was already ready to push past him when Jace stepped forward and showed him his ID, explaining that none of them were minors. The bouncer glanced at Chase with an annoyed expression before finally stepping aside and letting them through.
The moment they entered, Chase began frantically searching the crowded club for Logan. The crowd had multiplied since Logan arrived, making it almost impossible to see through everyone.
"We should spread out and look for him. The crowd is too much." Jace said loudly.
The others nodded in agreement, and they immediately split up, searching every corner of the club. Chase pushed past people, repeatedly looking around for Logan, but there was no sign of him anywhere.
Soon, they all met up again, each of them shaking their heads.
Chase ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Where are you, Logan?" He asked, his voice breaking slightly as panic tightened around his chest.
Jace placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll find him. Don't worry."
Chase tried to calm himself and nodded.
Jace's eyes continued scanning the club until he noticed someone disappearing down a hallway. His expression changed.
"Wait."
He pointed toward the hallway. "There are other areas of the club. Let's check there."
He grabbed Chase's arm and pulled him along, with the others following behind them.
As they walked farther down the hallway, Jacob suddenly stopped.
"Hold on."
Everyone came to a halt.
Jacob looked at the doors lining both sides of the hallway. "These are rooms. Even if Logan is in one of them, how are we supposed to know which one?"
"I don't care." Chase replied immediately. "Even if I have to check every single room, I'm not leaving here without him."
"I'll find a receptionist or someone who works here." Ethan said. "They should be able to tell us which room Liam booked. But I need a description of him first."
Chase immediately described Liam to him, and Ethan nodded before hurrying back toward the main part of the club.
Chase watched him disappear, his anxiety growing with every passing second. He couldn't shake the feeling that every moment they wasted meant Logan could be in even more danger.
"I can't wait anymore, Jace. I'm going to look for him."
Before anyone could stop him, Chase hurried down the hallway and began checking the rooms one after another.
"Chase!" Jace called after him.
But Chase was already too far ahead to hear him.
Jace turned toward Scott and Jacob. "You guys wait here for Ethan. I'll go after him."
"Okay. Be careful." Scott replied.
Jace nodded before following after Chase.
Meanwhile, Chase was already opening one door after another, quickly apologizing whenever he realized he'd entered the wrong room.
"Sorry."
He shut another door and moved to the next one.
His heart was pounding violently in his chest.
"Please, Logan..."
He reached for another door handle.
"Please be here."
When he opened the door, he was met with another couple inside. A look of disappointment flashed across his face before he quickly apologized and closed the door again.
He ran a hand through his hair in frustration, looking down the hallway as his breathing grew heavier. Every second felt like it was working against him.
"Where are you, baby? Please..." He whispered, his voice breaking.
He continued down the hallway, checking the doors one after another. Then, for some reason, one particular door caught his attention.
Something inside him told him to check it.
Chase slowly reached for the handle, his heart pounding violently against his chest. He closed his eyes for a brief moment.
"Please let this be the one."
He pushed the door open.
For a second, he simply stood there.
Then his entire body froze.
Lying on the bed was the one person he would recognize anywhere.
"Logan!"
Chase rushed into the room.
He stopped beside the bed, his heart nearly breaking at the sight before him. Logan was unconscious, barely moving, the duvet pulled over him while visible marks on his neck and skin told Chase everything he needed to know.
Chase's breath caught.
His eyes slowly moved to Logan's face, and that's when he noticed the dried traces of tears on his cheeks.
His hand immediately covered his mouth.
"No..." He stumbled backwards.
Hot tears filled his eyes, spilling down his cheeks as his entire body began to tremble. He tried to hold himself together, but the pain became too much.
A broken sob escaped him.
Then another.
Within seconds, his quiet sobs turned into cries of anguish that echoed through the room.
Jace came rushing in and froze in the doorway.
His eyes immediately went to Logan.
Then to Chase.
"Oh God..." He whispered.
Jace hurried over and grabbed Chase by the shoulders.
"Chase, you have to pull yourself together." He said, his own voice trembling. "H... he needs you."
"It's all my fault, Jace." Chase broke down. "It's all my fault."
Images flashed through his mind.
Logan calling for help.
Logan being terrified.
The warnings he had given him.
The way Logan had smiled and promised everything would be fine.
And now this.
He remembered every promise he'd ever made to Logan—to protect him, to keep him safe, to always be there when he needed him.
And he hadn't been there.
Chase threw his head back and let out a broken scream, his entire body shaking with grief and rage.
Jace pulled him into his arms, holding him tightly as tears streamed down his own face.
After a moment, Chase pulled himself free and slowly approached the bed.
His hands trembled as he carefully gathered Logan into his arms, pulling the duvet securely around him before holding him against his chest.
"I'm here now, baby." Chase whispered through his tears.
He pressed his cheek against Logan's hair.
"I'm here."
His voice broke completely.
"I'm so sorry I came too late."
At that moment, Scott and the others rushed into the room, breathing heavily from running down the hallway.
But the moment they saw what was happening, they stopped.
Nobody spoke.
Nobody needed to.
The silence said everything.
Scott's face crumpled as he stared at Logan, while Jace lowered his head, wiping away the tears that continued falling from his eyes.
Chase simply held Logan tighter.
"I'm here, baby." He whispered again, pressing a gentle kiss against his forehead. "I'm sorry I came too late."
They had found Logan, but none of them knew what the days ahead would bring or how long it would take for him to recover from what had happened.
But whatever came next, Chase knew one thing.
He wasn't going anywhere.
He would stay beside Logan through every tear, every nightmare, every difficult moment that followed. He would hold his hand when Logan needed someone to hold onto, and remind him every single day that he wasn't alone.
Chase had promised to protect him.
This time, he wasn't letting go.
