Chapter 144 Chapter 144
Chapter 144 Chapter 144
"Liam..." Logan called weakly, his voice trembling.
Liam had dragged him to the bed and pinned his wrists above his head, keeping him from moving.
"Do you know how many times I've imagined this?" Liam whispered, staring down at him.
Logan shook his head desperately.
"Please..."
"I regretted so many things after I left." Liam continued, his voice trembling with emotion. "But do you know what I regretted the most?"
Logan's eyes filled with tears.
"Not telling you how I felt."
Liam leaned closer.
"I should have told you back then. I should have told you that I loved you before I left."
He lowered his face toward Logan.
Logan turned his head away, trying to avoid him.
"Liam, stop."
Liam ignored him and tried to kiss him.
Logan resisted immediately, turning his face away and pressing his lips tightly together. When Liam tried again, Logan bit down hard, refusing to let him kiss him.
Liam pulled back sharply.
A thin line of blood appeared on his lower lip.
He stared at Logan for a moment before wiping it away with his thumb.
Logan's eyes were filled with terror.
"Chase..."
The name left his lips as little more than a broken whisper.
Liam's expression darkened.
"You're still calling for him."
Logan shook his head weakly, tears slipping down his temples.
"Please, Liam. Don't do this, I'm begging you."
Liam leaned closer again. "I want you to forget him."
Logan closed his eyes, desperately wishing someone would find him.
He thought of Chase.
He thought of the way Chase had looked at him earlier, the concern in his eyes, the warning he'd given him.
"Please be careful."
"Chase..." Logan whispered, his heart aching with fear and regret
Liam's expression hardened. He whispered something Logan couldn't make out before reaching for his shirt.
Logan's eyes widened in terror.
He tried to turn away again, but his body was too weak to fight him. The drug's effect had intensified, stealing what little strength he had left.
Chase stood outside Scott's house, staring down at his phone. He had tried calling Logan again, but there was still no answer. He called once more, hoping that maybe this time Logan would pick up, but the call went unanswered again. His chest tightened. Something was wrong. He didn't know how he knew it, but the feeling had grown stronger with every passing minute.
He paced several steps before stopping and staring at Logan's name on his screen. "Please pick up, baby.'' He whispered, but there was still nothing.
The front door opened behind him, and Jace stepped outside. "Still can't reach him?"
Chase slowly shook his head. "No." His fingers tightened around his phone. "I've called him so many times."
Jace's expression immediately became serious. "Okay." He glanced back toward the house. "I'll go tell the others. We should leave now."
Chase nodded. "Yeah."
Jace disappeared inside while Chase stared at his phone again. The location Logan had sent him was still there. A club. In another city. His stomach twisted at the thought of it.
"Please be okay, Logan." His voice cracked slightly. "Please."
A few minutes later, Jace returned with Scott and the others. Chase didn't bother explaining anything. He simply turned and walked toward his car, with Jace following close behind.
Scott opened his mouth as if he wanted to ask what was happening, but one look at Chase's face made him stop.
Chase and Jace got into Chase's car while the others climbed into Scott's.
The moment Chase started the engine, he pulled out of the driveway. He drove faster than usual, his eyes constantly moving between the road ahead and the location on his phone. Scott followed closely behind, keeping up with him as they sped toward the other city.
Chase gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning pale. He couldn't explain the fear consuming him. It was more than jealousy or suspicion now. Something deep inside him was screaming that Logan was in danger.
He only knew one thing.
He needed to get to Logan.
And he needed to get there before something happened to him.
But deep down, a terrifying voice kept whispering that they might already be too late.
