Chapter 39
Percy huffed, and he was quiet for several moments. He also blushed even more profusely than before. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of silence, he cleared his throat.
“I’m s-shy.”
Rohan stared at Percy. “What did you say? I can’t hear you.”
Percy glared at Rohan. “I’m damn fucking shy! Okay?”
Rohan was so startled by Percy’s outburst, he laughed. Something he rarely did. Percy struggled to get away from him and Diego, but the omega failed. Not that Rohan expected a different outcome. Percy was an omega who was pressed between two alphas. Rohan knew it would take a miracle for Percy to be able to break free. Diego guffawed and shifted even closer to Percy.
“Why?” Diego asked. “You’ve always been such a confident omega.”
Percy turned his head and narrowed his eyes at Diego. “I may have a modern outlook on many things, but deep down, I’m still a traditional omega. I was too embarrassed to make the first move so I did what I could to nudge you both in the right direction. Besides, if you both didn’t suck at planning, we could have been dating since breakfast a few days ago, but you couldn’t even get that meal ready without messing things up left and right.”
Diego arched his left eyebrow. “I don’t understand.”
“Neither do I,” Rohan added.
“Weren’t you trying to get me as your mate in foureasy steps?” Percy inquired while smirking at both Rohan and Diego.
Diego gasped. “You knew?”
Percy rolled his eyes. “Of course. You and Ro should have moderated your volume when you talked in the car. I overheard nearly everything.”
Rohan sighed. “Are you mad at us?”
Percy shook his head. “Not at all. Now, will you both please complete the pre-bonding process for all three of us? In case you’re not aware, I’m not getting any younger. The average lifespan these days for human beings may be one hundred thirteen, but as an omega, my fertility period will only last until I’m around fifty-five. After that, it will be difficult for me to get pregnant.”
“I like you for you,” Diego protested. “I’m not denying that I want us to have children someday, but you’re precious to me not simply because of your ability to be impregnated.”
Rohan nodded. “What Diego said.”
“Thank you, and I’m glad to hear that, but I really hope we can have children together,” Percy interjected. “Anyway, let’s get the pre-bonding process over and done with.”
Diego chuckled. “How romantic!”
Percy snorted. “More action, less talking.”
“If that’s what you want.”
Percy smiled at Rohan. “It is.”
Rohan did his best to smile back at Percy. He wasn’t certain he succeeded, but it didn’t matter. His apprehension overwhelmed everything else. He bent his head toward Percy as he grabbed the omega’s waist with both hands, gently kissing the smaller man all over the face and neck. He also rubbed himself all over Percy, groaning in satisfaction as the omega began to smell like him with every passing second. He noticed Diego doing the same from behind Percy.
After several moments, he and Diego exchanged places before repeating the process. Since it was simply a pre-bonding ritual, Percy wouldn’t smell like him and Diego everywhere. However, Percy carried enough of their scents to satisfy the alphas in them. Then Rohan’s and Diego’s gazes locked. They slowly spread their alpha pheromones onto each other. They didn’t do so in a rough manner, but they were definitely less gentle as they kissed and rubbed their faces together while their hands freely roamed all over each other’s faces, necks, and bodies. Once the pre-bonding process was complete, the three of them remained stationary as they basked in their combined scents while enjoying the intimacy of being close to one another. Their embrace lasted for quite a while before they separated and returned to their respective seats to continue with breakfast.
Rohan didn’t feel all that different after the pre-bonding, but he definitely detected an increase in his sense of possessiveness and protectiveness over both Diego and Percy. He also yearned to touch Diego and Percy more often than before. Moreover, he became hyperaware of Diego’s and Percy’s scents. However, he also felt much calmer than before. It was as if the alpha in him was more settled and relaxed now he’d formed a connection with Diego and Percy that might lead to their eventual mating. He could better comprehend why some people dreamed of finding their life partners. The feelings he was experiencing answered all the questions he’d had, and he had no doubt the sensations would be so much better when he was fully mated to both Diego and Percy.
