LET'S FIND VENUS
STACY
I'm so mad at Maurice because he used his Alpha tone on me.
The last time we had a proper conversation was over a week ago. The first two nights since that day, he slept in his office.
He must've been calming himself down too or afraid to face me... I just can't tell. Whenever he lies down beside me at night, I make sure I turn away from him, but that always fails because in the morning, we find ourselves tangled to each other. When he asks any questions, I answer him at the bare minimum.
When he attempts bringing up about finding Venus, I tell him that I'm still going to find her and it ends with us arguing even more.
“I'll send Dwayne and Oswald if you want, but you cannot go with them. You are our Luna hence you can't leave your Pack.” Maurice says, which makes perfect sense. I perfectly understand where he's coming from.
I breath out loudly. “I know, but I am the moon goddess' warrior too. We are here for a reason, and that's to stop the strays from invading our Packs and spreading allover, and to do that I need to find the other three Warriors. They may even be unaware of the fact that they're moon goddess' warriors.”
He runs a hand through his raven hair, a habit he always has when he's feeling frustrated.
I can see that my stubbornness is worrying and hurting him, but there's no other way. I want to hug him, but I end up fighting that desire. We have to be in the same page about this one.
“It's dangerous.” He says again, low and calm. He's just telling me the fact, but it's not like I don't know that already. I know he's concerned about me and he extremely cares about me but all I know is that I'm in a mission and the moon goddess will surely protect me. She can't sent me on a mission knowing perfectly well that it's dangerous and it can bring harm upon me.
“I will be fine, Maurice.” I assure him but I can see he's still in doubt and I'm far from convincing him. Upon saying that, he doesn't answer and just runs another hand through his hair. After that, I lie down on the bed and turn away from him. I also don't know what to say anymore.
He steps out of the room, but not before pulling the quilt over me and placing a kiss on my cheek.
“Please try to understand me.” He whispers in my ear and gives me another kiss at the side of my head. He then turns around and I can hear his footsteps getting further away. To be honest, I miss him so much! I miss my Mate and I'm craving for his caresses and touch.
To take my mind off him, I focus on finding more clues to finding Venus. I try getting more information about the Western Pack but as expected, the Alpha has forbidden those who have access to the information to tell me.
Should I just go and find the Western Pack on my own?
No, no, no.
That's such a crazy idea.
I don't even know where it is other than it's located at the West. I also don't have any relations to Alpha Joseph's pack so they won't even talk to me if I somehow manage to get there. They would most likely just throw me to jail right away. Damn!
I sigh in utmost despair. I'm running out of options and I'm afraid, I no longer know what I'm supposed to do.
I find myself in the library, taking out a book about the four warriors from the shelves.
As I read about the description of me, Wendy, it makes perfect sense. Almost all of it makes sense, even the powers enlisted there, they are things I'm able to do now, especially healing.
But there's the downside effect of my healing powers.
Back on the attack of the stray wolves when I healed a lot of Pack members, I fainted. It was my first time using my power on so many people. I overexerted myself when I was just getting used to it.
Another thing, when I heal others, afterwards, I feel the pain that they felt with their injury. Yes, it also hurts me to a degree, but it's nothing I can't handle.
My new abilities are overwhelming, to say the least. It's not something to mess with. I have to use it with care, because it can also end up hurting me
I skim over to the details of Venus.
'Brave, oh brave warrior, always taking more than you can handle. The strongest of your peers, keeping all safe within your barrier. Down West you will go and troubles you will meet. Stray wolves that follow. People to lead. You who they call Queen.'
Down West you will go...
Why hadn't I seen this before?
Maybe if I read more of these, it will tell me more about her.
The next two days, I spend my time in the library and finding all clues I can get about the rogue warrior, but the closest thing I can find is that she will be in the West, she's very strong, she has been fighting stray wolves from a young age so that means she's most likely a rogue herself.
However, there's a part I don't understand...the part where it says that people around her call her queen. There is no royal blood in the were kind, merely Pack hierarchy and the Council.
Is it just a title? A nickname? I don't understand at all!
My head really hurts from all this reading therefore I decide to go and lie down for a while.
I make my way out of the library and start walking to our room and as I massage the temple of my head walking through the Pack's hallways, Maurice's smell fills the air.
I'm shocked for a moment and I lift my eyes, looking for him. It doesn't take me long because I spot both Maurice and Dwayne at the end of the hallway.
Great, another headache!
I try my best not to mind them though I'm walking towards where they are.
“Are you okay?” Dwayne asks as I arrive in front of them. I make sure to give Maurice a blank expression first and then look at Dwayne while wearing my best smile.
“Just a little headache from all the reading, trying to find Venus.” I say, the smile still plastered on my lips.
Dwayne snickers and nods. “Still fighting, aren't we?” He says lowly and this makes Maurice and I to glare at him immediately and he only shrugs. He starts walking away while laughing.
“Ah, now I'm excited to meet my mate. I feel lonely with all these mated wolves around me. Maurice, give me a two month vacation to go find my mate or something.” He jokes as he walks down the stairs.
“Go further South, maybe you'll find your sorry mate.” Maurice comments before Dwayne disappears completely and all that's left of him is his echoing laugh.
When he's completely gone and out of sight, Maurice and I are left there standing in front of each other and we stare at each other for a while.
For a second, I contemplate whether I should hug and kiss him or just leave him without saying a word but as the strong woman that I am, I choose the latter and turn away. However, before I can turn away completely, my feet are swept off the ground, causing me to scream.
Maurice is now carrying me bridal style and I look at him incredulously.
“What are you doing? Put me down!” I protest and I try pushing him away. He starts walking away. “You have a headache right? I can feel it, too. Go rest first.”
I stop moving so much. “That was my initial plan, dummy.” I say which earns me a snort from him. Not too long after, we arrive at our room and he sets me down on the bed slowly and gently. He touches my forehead, trying to see if it's warm.
Why is he even checking?
I don't say a word and I only watch him take care of me as he starts taking my sandals off.
“What?” He asks.
“Nothing.” I state nonchalantly, making him to stop and then he looks back at me. For a while, he doesn't say a word and then he sighs.
“I'll allow it.” He starts.
Allow it? Allow what?
My eyes widen and I sit up immediately, trying to confirm what I've just heard. My ears aren't lying to me right?
“What did you just say?” I ask again, my eyes squinting at him.
“I'll let you go in search of Venus.”
Wow! Just wow! Which side of the bed did he wake up from today?
