LET'S FIND VENUS

STACY

A she-wolf in human form is running as she keeps looking over her shoulder as if someone is chasing her. She's panting heavily as she runs faster.

Her hair is as warm as the sun, she has emerald eyes which are as cold and empty as glass as if she has nothing to lose. In a way, maybe I used to look like that back when I was an Omega.

I try to look for whoever is chasing her, then behind her, I see something familiar.

A person in a cape is chasing her and he's gaining tremendous speed. There are werewolves in their wolf form chasing her too. I quickly recognize them....strays.

I concentrate on the person chasing her, the one who's wearing the cape. Who? Who have I ever seen wearing that cape?

This is the second moon goddess' warrior Venus... She's panting hard as if she is so tired, and I can feel that she's very exhausted. Looking at her, I can see that she hasn't lived an easy life, but suddenly, the scene changes.

Now, she is lying down on a bed and there are three men standing over her. They seem to be talking. The three men are high ranking wolves, that's obvious enough. If I'm not mistaken, the one with the brown hair is an Alpha. The one standing beside him must be his Beta and the other one looks like a Pack doctor.

“Joseph, she's your mate?”

As if on cue, I immediately open my eyes.

A dream? So it was a dream huh?

Lately, my dreams have been of the other warriors. I remember the moon goddess telling me to look for the others, but how can I do that when I've no clue where to start from?

But connecting the dots, I figure that these dreams must be the clues. Lately, I dream about Venus a lot though. Most nights, when she appears in my dreams, she's on top of a tree, overlooking the forest.

I conclude that she must be a rogue because in my other dreams, she's always fights rogues.

But today, it's different. She looks like she's in a Pack clinic, and there are those three men....most importantly, her mate.

If I remember his name correctly, Joseph.

That's the closest to a clue that I can get. So Venus's mate is also an Alpha by the name Joseph....

To my knowledge, I don't remember any nearby Packs with an Alpha by that name. I therefore decide to sit up on my bed and think for a while.

Lately, more smaller Packs have been totally destroyed by the strays. Dark Woods has already sent a few warriors to other Packs to try and help, but still, we need our own warriors to protect our Pack.

Everyone was worried, I could feel the Pack's uneasiness as we sent the last batch of warriors off to far away Packs and as their Luna, I only assured their families that they would be back as soon as we find out who is controlling the strays.

Maurice has been busy these days dealing with other ally packs, most of them seeking help from us, but we can only help so many packs.

It's frustrating and I can feel his frustrations through the mate bond. Even I, I'm overly frustrated.

The reason why we were sent here by the moon goddess was to help the werekind fight the strays off. But here I am, safely tucked in the Pack house of a highly protected Pack!

I feel like I'm useless and I need to be out there, finding the other warriors so we can all work together and end this danger.

I had regrets as I sent off our warriors, knowing that if only I could find the rest of the moon goddess' warriors, we could put an end to this sooner and the Pack warriors didn't have to be separated from their families.

I have to talk to Maurice.

The first step to finding Venus is to look for an Alpha by the name of Joseph.

I get out of the bed, fix it and take a quick shower in my wolf speed. After changing and preparing myself to go out, I walk down the stairs to the kitchen first where I see Gloria and Darla already taking their breakfast. They both smile when they see me approaching.

“Good morning, Luna.” Gloria greets as she smiles sweetly at me, bidding me to sit beside her, which I do.

“Good morning to you too. What's the menu for today?” I ask with a smile.

Darla has already stood up and she prepares my breakfast in a plate. She sets it down in front of me as well as a glass of water and some milk. I smile, thanking her.

Pancakes, potatoes, bacon and sausages for today...mmmmh, great...just great!

Gloria informs me that she has received news that a few more Packs have been attacked by the strays but thankfully, because of the warriors that we sent to help, the casualties are less, although they aren't a hundred percent prevented.

I sigh and I resolve that I have to do something very quickly.

Venus, where on earth are you?

And then I remember that Alpha who's supposedly her mate.... Joseph! If I find him, surely I'm set to meet Venus. I don't know if the dreams I have of her have already happened to her or not, but it is surely bound to happen.

My appetite jumps out the window as I think for a way to look for that warrior. I look at the two ladies in front of me and I wonder if they would know an Alpha named Joseph?

Maybe Gloria would know since she used to be the Luna of Dark Woods.....she must probably know something!

“Uhm...” I hesitate, interrupting Darla in her theories of the strays. They both stop and look to me. “I just have a question. Gloria, would you happen to know a Pack that has an Alpha with the name of Joseph?” I ask while eyeing her desperately.

Her eyebrows knit together as she thinks.

“Hmm... Joseph, you say. Let's see. There isn't one nearby because I know most of the Alphas and their sons' names but I don't know any Joseph.” She says and shrugs.

To my dismay, I nod in response. “Alright, that's fine.”

“Any other clues? How about a family name? Is their Pack an ally?” She inquires, trying to find any other information that can help us find Joseph.

But I sigh and shake my head in defeat since that's the only thing I know about him...his name.

Gloria thinks for a little while and her eyes light up as she seems to remember something.

“Ah! Come to think of it, there is one famous Alpha by the name Joseph. He's the Alpha of the strongest Pack in the Western territories, but I'm not sure he's the one you're looking for. We're the strongest Pack in the South so our Pack rarely interacts. How do you know him?” She yaps and my hopes shoot up.

An Alpha of the West? Maybe it's him!

My smile almost reaches my ears as I stand up from my chair. Yes! It should be him! And if it isn't, well, it's worth a try, isn't it?

“Thank you so much, Gloria! I love you!” I thank her and run out of the kitchen. Excited with the piece of information I have just received, I make my way to Maurice's office where I know he must be.

I sense that Oswald and Dwayne are inside.

I knock first and when Maurice allows me in, I open the door and get in.

They all look up, peeling their eyes away from a map that is being spread on a big conference table.

I smile at them all, excited at the news I'm about to share with them.

Maurice smiles as our eyes meet and I quickly walk towards him.

“What has got you so happy this morning?” He asks, feigning jealousy as he places a peck on my cheek and then places his arms around my waist, embracing me.

“Definitely not you.” Oswald comments from the side. We both look towards the Gamma. I know Maurice is sending him death glares by now and all I can do is to laugh.

Dwayne inserts his own share of comments too and Maurice merely reprimands them.

“I have a clue.” I start and I see Maurice and Dwayne rising their eyebrows, maybe wondering what I'm talking about. “I have a clue of where Venus might be. I saw in my dreams that she has a mate and he's an Alpha by the name Joseph.”

Immediately I mention Joseph's name, Maurice's eyes harden and his hold around my waist tightens as if he's already against the idea. My hopes drop down and suddenly wonder why I feel like this is going to be harder than expected.

“Joseph Michaels? Gamma Oswald asks.

I turn to him, breaking free from Maurice because I can already feel that whatever preposition I'm going to make, he will be against it.

“I'm not too sure, but Gloria said that the only Alpha she knows by the name Joseph is the Alpha of the strongest western Pack. He could be the person to lead me to Venus.” I explain.

The three high-ranking wolves exchange looks within themselves and I sigh. Never mind that, Maurice isn't the only one who's gonna need convincing!

This whole trio seem to already be against any idea that I'm going to present. “Okay and what do you intend to do now?” Maurice asks from beside me. His tone is stern and interrogative.

My heart starts beating faster since I expect him to understand me at least.

“I need to go there Maurice. I need to meet Venus and--”

“No.” Maurice says, turning me down cold and flat.

I turn around and look at him straight in the eyes. I can see that he's totally set on this decision.

“Maurice, I'm going. Venus might be there and I need to find the other moon goddess warriors and you perfectly know that!”

“And how sure are you that she will be there? It's dangerous outside the Pack borders, Stacy. Strays are practically everywhere and Joseph's package is at the far west while we're down here in the south.” He reasons out and I can understand that he's concerned with my safety but there's no other way out.

“That's why I'm going there to check if the second warrior is there since it's the only way. I have to find her one way or another.” I raise my voice a little bit.

“You're not going anywhere.” He says with finality and in a way, this argument takes me back to the first times we met, when we used the same tone of stubbornness and hardness in our voices, each of us trying to have the upper-hand in the situation.

But this...is not negotiable! I have to find Venus as per the moon goddess's instructions.

Maurice closes his eyes as if calming himself down and I take a deep breath to do the same.

I only remember now that Dwayne and Oswald are here and that Maurice and I have just fought in their presence.

So bad!

Awkward glances are plastered on their faces and they clearly don't know what to do in this situation. Under any other circumstances, I would've laughed at the look on their faces, but right now, there are more important matters to take care of.

“It's a no, Stacy. I can send someone else, but not you.” He states with finality.

I bite my lip and I can't suppress my annoyance at my mate.

“No, Maurice, I have to go. The sooner I find the other warriors, the faster we can--”

“No.” He says yet again, but this time it's different because he uses his Alpha tone on me. Damn!

I see that even Dwayne and Oswald are shocked at what Maurice has done. He must've realized it too because regret is quickly written allover his face.

As for me, I feel even more annoyed and upset.

“How dare you? You know how important it is for me to find the other warriors and help you and this Pack fight the strays. I can fight for myself, Maurice.” I snap at him in anger before I storm out off the room.

I hear him call after me as I leave, but I ignore him completely and disappear.

I'm super pissed at him right now and I can't stop wondering why he's so bend in stopping me from accomplishing the moon goddess' mission!
