Chapter 16

When Aurora opened her eyes, she was lying on the forest floor, her white dress now turned to a shade of dirt and bloody red. The car was on its side, and the driver was unconscious next to her. She could hear Selene groaning nearby, and she struggled to her feet, running to her side.

Selene was covered in blood, and she was barely conscious. But before Aurora could do anything, she heard a howl, close by. She spun around, and her blood turned to ice. There, standing in the shadows, was a pack of Werewolves. They were larger than normal wolves, and their fur was a strange shade of silver.

The Werewolves began to circle the group, their eyes glowing with a strange light. The driver was still unconscious, and Selene was too injured to fight. Aurora was the only one who could do anything, and she knew she had to act fast. She had to get the driver and Selene to safety before the Rarewolves attacked.

But as she started to move, one of the Rarewolves stepped forward, snarling. It bared its teeth, and its red eyes fixed on Aurora. Aurora faced the Rarewolf, her heart pounding in her chest. It snarled at her, its red eyes glowing in the darkness.

Aurora swallowed hard and said, "What do you want?" The Rarewolf's growl turned into a low, rumbling laugh. "We want what is ours," it said, its voice echoing in the forest. "And you are a thief."

Aurora's eyes widened. "I am no thief," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I've taken nothing that doesn't belong to me."

The Rarewolf's roar turned into a snarl. "You have stolen from us, and you will pay the price," it said, its claws extending from its paws. Aurora took a step back, panic rising in her chest. "Please," she said, her voice shaking. "I don't know what I've taken. I don't know what you want."

The Rarewolf advanced, its snarl becoming a low growl. "You took what was most precious to us," it said. "Now, you will give it back."

"I don't know what you're talking about," Aurora said, her hands shaking with fear. She needed to be out of here as quickly as possible, but she was weak. She had no wolf in her, and these Rarewolves were making her angry too.

Aurora stood there, rooted to the spot, as the Rarewolf took a step closer. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, and her breath was coming in short, shallow gasps. Suddenly, the creature lunged forward, its claws outstretched, ready to attack her. Just as the Rarewolf was about to claw at Aurora, a roar filled the air.

The creature spun around, and she saw Alpha Adam standing there, his eyes blazing with fury. In a blur of movement, he leaped at the Rarewolf, tackling it to the ground. Aurora watched, frozen in place, as they wrestled, the two creatures locked in a struggle for dominance.

After what seemed like an eternity, the Rarewolf's growls turned to whimpers, and it lay still on the ground. Alpha Adam stood up, breathing heavily, and turned to stare at Aurora, whose eyes were wildly staring at him with fear. He watched as she crawled back, away from him, and he felt his heart twist in pain at her actions.

But then, Oliver and Kennedy were still fighting the other two Rarewolves, dodging their claws and snapping jaws. They were a fearsome duo, working together to fight off the creatures. Just as they seemed to be gaining the upper hand, one of the Rarewolves managed to land a blow on Oliver, knocking him to the ground. He was dazed, and the Rarewolf raised its claws to strike a fatal blow.

Then, there was another roar and another blur of movement. A third wolf, even larger than the others, leaped into the fray. It was... Alpha Adam! Alpha Adam charged at the Rarewolf, slamming into it with the force of a battering ram. The creature was sent flying, landing with a crash several feet away.

The three Rarewolves lay on the ground dead, and their bodies slowly turned to ashes. Alpha Adam turned to check on Oliver, who was slowly getting to his feet. "Are you alright?" Alpha Adam asked, his voice concerned. "I think so," Oliver replied, shaking himself off.

Then, he turned to Alpha Adam, a question on his lips. "Where's..." he began, but Alpha Adam held up a hand, silencing him. "She's safe," he said, his voice soft. "I've got her." Oliver turned and saw Selene, who had regained consciousness and was looking around, utterly confused at what had happened, and she was trembling.

"Selene!" Oliver exclaimed, running to her. He wrapped his arms around her, and she clung to him, shaking. Alpha Adam watched them for a moment, a smile playing on his lips. Then, he turned and walked away, leaving the pair to their reunion.

"Take them back to the pack; I will take care of Aurora," Alpha Adam said, walking towards Aurora, ignoring the questions and fear that filled her eyes. He carried her in his arms, and like a flash, he brought her back to the pack. The pack members stared at the scene in front of them; the Luna looked as if she was injured, and everyone stared at her with concern, with blood staining her white gown. It was obvious everyone had questions to ask.

"Call the doctor," Alpha Adam told Lina once he was back in his room where Aurora stays, and quickly Lina scampered off to find the doctor. How had he arrived at the scene in time? When he had run off from the wedding ground, he ran towards the forest and to the mountain, with all the emotions running through his veins, he had shifted to his wolf form, and his men had joined him for the run. It was a great run that helped him relieve his senses even if everything had to be with Diane, the love of his life.

He felt his heart prickle at how she had betrayed him, how she had collaborated with the Rarewolves and became a spy in his pack, making him fall in love with her. Aurora thought she could be his Luna and make him love her just like that. He had snarled at that thought. Even if she was his mate, she would never be loved by him. But a scent from the forest stopped him from thinking; it was a very heavy, disgusting scent, different from his pack, different from the scent of the forest. He had growled with anger; the others must have perceived it, and quickly they followed after the scent.

The more they ran, the more the scent became familiar, and then they perceived another scent with it, "Aurora!" he had whispered. He felt his body climax with so much rage and something else which he had never felt in a long while... Fear! Quickly like a flash, he ran towards the scent. He knew what was before him, and standing right before him was Aurora, surrounded by three Rarewolves, and their claws were sharp, ready to rip into her heart. With anger, he had come after them and fought the Rarewolf who had tried hurting his wife, his Luna, and his mate.
