Chapter 15
The sun was shining brightly on her wedding day, but the bride felt cold and numb. She stood at the altar, her gaze fixed on the ground, as the priest began to speak. She tried to focus on his words, but her mind was racing. How had she ended up here, about to marry a man she didn't love? As she looked up at the groom, his handsome face expressionless, she felt like a caged bird, trapped and helpless.
How fast time ran, She could feel the eyes of the congregation on her, the pack, they had gathered for her, to witness her get married to their alpha and she become their Luna, but she couldn't bring herself to look up.
Her heart was pounding in her chest, and she felt like she couldn't breathe. She knew this was wrong, that she should never have agreed to this marriage. But she had no choice, she was forced to get married to him, a devil.
So she stood there, frozen, as the priest's voice droned on and on.
The last few days have been filled with lots of activities, from visiting the pack members who had appreciated and loved her with so much eagerness and accepted her, they told her how beautiful she was and how the alpha had made a great choice in selecting the best of all, the kids had circled around her, wishinh to be carried in her arms and she had enjoyed every bit of it.
"Do you, Aurora, accept this man to be your husband, your alpha, and his Luna?" the priest asked.
Aurora stood there, frozen, as the words echoed in her ears. She couldn't bring herself to speak. Her heart was racing, and she felt like she might faint. She looked around the church, at the faces of all the people who were watching her. And then she saw him, standing in front of her. His face was expressionless, his eyes cold and distant.
He looked like marrying her was the last thing he wanted to do. His gaze was fixed on something - or someone - in the crowd, and he looked almost disappointed that it wasn't them standing there with him. Aurora felt a sharp pang of anger and pain building within her, wondering who it was that he wished was standing in her place
"I do."
She whispered, this time, she looked up at him without blinking one bit.
"And do you alpha Adam accept this woman to be your lawfully wedded bride, your future Luna?"
The priest said, now turning to stare at him, alpha adam stared at Aurora, but all he could see was Diane, she should be the one here not her,
"Diane was never your mate adam, she is."
His wolf said in his head, he shook his head slowly at what he said and the crowd gasped at his actions.
Alpha Adam quickly turned to stare at the pack, what was wrong with them.
"Alpha Adam, you do not accept her to be your bride?"
The priest asked, alpha Adam stared at him with confusion,
"You shook your head alpha Ada..."
"I accept her to be my Bride and Luna."
Alpha Adam said, and quickly without even waiting for the priest to reply him he left the alter with anger boiling within him.
He needed space away from his pack and quickly he ran into the forest with Oliver following after him with almost the same speed.
Aurora stared at what had happened, she was alone with the pack, utterly confused on what had became the alpha, why was he reacting strangely to this event, he was the one who wanted it, who wanted to get married not her.
"I will take you back to the castle and you will be sent to your room, you need to rest."
Selene said, she was escorted back to the car and asked they drove off to the castle, Aurora looked at the window, her life looked so boring, today looked so boring and she wanted to just run away, away from the pack and what was installed for her.
"I know how you feel, tired and bored."
Selene said, interrupting her in her thoughts.
Aurora turner to look at her, she was not sure anyone could know how she felt,
"You feel caged, you wanna scream but you can't because you know eyes are staring at you, you wanna cry but you can't unless you are alone and you aren't right now. You don't want to show how weak you are but you know you are and you can't escape it, your wolf isn't there. You are not getting married to a man who loves you but have a past life and was betrayed by the woman he so dearly loves."
Selene said, she was so correct at everything she said but her last words caught her attention.
"The alpha king loved someone who betrayed him?"
Aurora asked, she had always seen him stare in space as if he was lost in his imaginations and he had always looked at her with anger and resentment.
"He never told you, well seems like he's still been the stubborn ass but its best he told you, he would have wedded you in the castle but he wanted less of you and your memories perhaps so he wedded you far away from the pack."
Selene said again, every words she said keeps making her confused.
As the car sped through the forest, suddenly, a strange sensation filled the air. The driver looked around nervously, but couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. The forest was still and silent, and the moon hung high in the sky. But Aurora could feel like there was something wrong, something lurking in the shadows.
"Can you feel that?"
She asked Selene who stared at her with confusion.
"Feel what?"
Selene responded and as soon as she had said that, something smashed into the side of the car, sending it skidding off the road. The driver tried to regain control, but it was too late. The car swerved into a tree, and everything went black.
