Chapter 17

Aurora opened her eyes and she wondered where she was, the last thing she remembered was getting attacked by those monsters.

She looked around her and when she shifted her body, she felt her body shaking with pain.

"Ooouch."

She groaned,

"If I were you, I would stop moving my body, you aren't healed properly since your wolf is still."

A voice said and Aurora felt her body freeze in place, she knew that voice, who wouldn't know that voice, that arrogant, prideful voice?

Slowly she looked up to stare at him

"Alpha Adam?"

She said, hoping he did not see the look of surprise on her face, what was he doing here, was he here to care for her or was this supposed to be their honeymoon?

"What are you doing here?"

She asked, heck she wasn't scared of him anymore, how was she not scared of him but scared of those monsters who had attacked her, he was more monstrous than them all.

"Hmmm, At least you aren't scared of me as you were scared of the Rarewolves."

Alpha Adam said Aurora noticed his face scrunched up like a smile, had she just seen the alpha smile, for the first time?

"You can smile, like for real?"

She asked if she did not know where she was getting this energy from but she liked it.

Alpha Adam quickly looked sideways to get his stance back and then he turned to stare at her.

"You don't look a bit like someone who almost got killed by Monsters and you do not look grateful that I did save you."

Alpha Adam said, his face now back to normal, he wasn't here to impress her but he knew he was lying, he had stayed up in the room throughout the night to make sure she was safe, he was beginning to do things he never did, not even for Diane but this was different, he was doing this because he needed to protect her and get the Company from the humans.

"You would have allowed me to die in their hands, you know, there's nothing happy here, absolutely nothing good in here. I am married to someone who doesn't have a heart."

Aurora said, as she looked down at her fingers, counting each one of them, alpha Adam stared at her solemn figure, there was silence in the room and he loved silence but not this.

"You are important to the pack and the pack loves you. As my Luna, you have jobs to do, you won't sit around doing nothing, you can visit the sick and be with the children and have meetings with other women in the pack and follow me for auctions."

Alpha Adam said he did not know why he was trying to make her feel better, he was meant to treat her awfully and never show her any part of him.

"What about us?"

She whispered, her voice was so low but he heard every single word she said and he felt his body become stiff at her words.

"The pack doctor will come check up on you later and Lina will show you stuff you can do with your time here."

He said, before standing up to leave the room, totally ignoring her question.

Aurora stared at his leaving figure and she heaved slowly.

She came down from the bed and she walked towards the mirror, her face had some bandages and as she touched her hair, wondered what the Rarewolves had said about her stealing what belonged to them, no one knew their conversation except them and how had they knew that she was traveling back to the castle on her wedding day, how had they sneaked into the castle, was there someone working for them within the walls, she was an awesome werewolf but she had brains, and the capacity to think smartly, Selene was injured and the driver hurt beyond reasoning but she wasn't injured meaning they wanted to take her alive.

"What have I stolen?"

She whispered to herself, the door to the room opened and Lina stepped in with a man dressed in a white coat.

"Luna, you are awake, everyone is so worried about you."

Lina said, hugging her and then she took her hands as they walked back to the bed.

"The alpha had..."

"Ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh"

The doctors coughed, interrupting Lina from talking further.

"Ooh, Doctor Mathias is here to check up on you."

Lina said as she gave way for Doctor Mathias who brought out his equipment to check up on her.

After some minutes the doctor was done.

"Your blood pressure is okay and your heart is beating just fine, you just need to take these tablets to help you heal fast, the healer is not close by, she would have helped you clear off these wounds."

Doctor Mathias said, arranging his equipment.

"Make sure she takes her drugs and she shouldn't be stressed out much."

The doctor finally said before leaving the room.

"Dr Mathias owns the largest hospital in the human land and also he's the pack doctor, but Alpha Adam controls the hospital and puts Mathias in charge. Your husband is so fucking rich."

Lina giggled and then she snapped her finger which made Aurora turn to look at her and quickly a maid walked into the room with a tray of various dishes.

"The king has required that you should be treated exclusively, perhaps as the new Luna or something else."

Lina said, a man stepped into the room, dressed like a chef.

"Who is he?"

Aurora asked, staring at him in confusion.

"Your food taster, we need to be sure that your food isn't poisoned as you are very important."

Lina said, making way for the taster.

"Hello, Luna."

The taster said, tasting each food and after he was done, he smiled at Aurora.

"Well, we have to wait and figure out if I will be dead or not."

The taste said with a silly smile on his face.

"Are you not scared of dying?"

Aurora questioned.

"Oh no I'm not, this is like a gig and I was so happy when the last taster died of food poisoning."

He said and then closed his mouth quickly at what he said.

"Ooh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that. I believe the food is poison-free since I'm not dead already."

The Taster said, bowing down, he left the room quickly.

"Don't be surprised, everyone loves you, except a few though, like Madame Eva, we haven't seen her around for a while now."

Lina said and instantly Aurora stopped eating.

"Do you think she's planning something outrageous? She warned me once to be careful, remember."

Aurora said she was feeling totally scared.

"Don't be, she can't harm you as far as the alpha is here."

Lina said, reassuring her, but deep down within Aurora, she doubted that she had a feeling that something was going to happen.
