ARIANA
The next day, Enzo was supposed to take me to the hospital for the next session. But he hadn't been home since morning. I woke up, bathed, dressed up and was ready to leave. But he was nowhere to be found. I went to the kitchen, hoping to get something to eat. I was quite surprised to see the kitchen empty. “Ohh, madam. You are awake. Master told us to prepare breakfast for him and you. We did, it's in the dining room. You can eat it while it's still warm.” A maid informed me.
I nodded my head and was about to walk away. But I paused by the doorframe. “Where is he?” I asked in a low tone.
“Who? Master?” She asked.
“Yes! Where did Enzo go?” I asked again calmly.
“Ummm!” She was hesitant.
“Brother Enzo stepped out for a while. He will be back soon. You should go and have your breakfast. You are gonna need it.” It was Ronny who answered my question. I didn't quere about anything else. Nodding my head, I gave them a small smile and walked away.
I was standing behind the chair where I used to sit. My breakfast was set with that chair. There were a lot of beautiful memories attached to that chair. And along with those beautiful memories, came the painful memories that hurt me more than I could remember.
My tears were about to start spilling when I took a deep breath. I grabbed my food and went to the chair that was farthest away from Enzo's chair. I was about to start eating when Enzo stepped into the dining room. He was dressed elegantly in his perfectly tailored baige color tuxedo.
My jaw dropped on the ground but not because he was looking smoking hot in that tuxedo. Yes, he looked like a mouthwatering piece of walking meat. But I was staring at his head. He sat down on the chair beside me. That's when I noticed. His food was placed right beside me. It was unusual. He always sat on the chair that belonged to the head of the family, the alpha's chair.
He turned to look at me after a while and gave me a small smile. “What did you do?” I asked, not liking what he actually did. He didn't look sexy in his new look at all.
Enzo grabbed my hand and place a soft kiss on my knuckles. His lips gently brushed against my skin. “You shouldn't be the only one to suffer. I am the reason why you are enduring life. The life you loved, has become a burden for you. The least I can do is be supportive.” He was honest with me. And I liked it. But then I reminded myself that I wasn't supposed to fall for his lies.
Enzo had shaved his head completely. Now we both were bald, looking like a clown couple. When I couldn't stop staring, he pushed a slice of sausage into my mouth.
