Chapter 82: Love's Hidden Truth

Alexia's POV

He is walking towards me, each strut eluding confidence and commanding power, causing my heart to beat, u feel my heart threatening to burst out if my chest. 

I struggled to keep my gaze down as he approached me, my heart racing to a million miles. 

Was he coming to ask me for a dance? Or has he learned that I was expectant when I left?

It came as a shock to me when he called my name earlier, my heart did a million summersaults at the mention of my name from his mouth. It was more like, my name was meant to be pronounced just by him. 

"Do you not know me?" Confusion was written all over his face, it was unlike Kia to be confused. Pretending not to enjoy the feeling-- the feeling of his eyes searching my face. The feeling of the need to me to recognize who he was. 

These were definitely the privileges that came with power-- suddenly everyone is fawning over you, no one cares about your background or whose daughter you are. 

Garvin walked past me and I grabbed his arm stylishly, hooking arms with him, I dragged us both to the dance floor. 

"What are you doing?" He whispered, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Play along, I'll tell you later" 

"Don't tell me it has something to do about that jerk from blackblood pack.. if he's causing you trouble, I'll go take care of him"

"Hey calm down Garvin, no one's bothering me. I just... Concentrate will you so we don't have miss a step."

"If you insist", he gave in,  we stood there like a couple, slowdancing and radiating love Sparks. A lot of guests walked up to us with good wishes and prayers, praying that union lasted forever. "If only they knew" Garvin and I laughed at their numerous wishes and expectations.

The party soon came to an sttem as it was already time for me to hand down the gifts and sournievtd

I had purposely requested that I take care of thid aspect on my own because I wanted to ensure that no one stayed behind-- and by no one, I think you know who I am actually referring to.

Garvin in one hand, gifts in a basket in another hand, I walked round the seats handing out the gifts and thanking each of the guests for taking the time to attend the party. 

"You both look adorable together" was the numerous comments we got from many of the guests, with us smiling in return. 

"Thanks for coming" I stated handing out the gift to the one person that made my heart flutter with just the mere sight of him. Whoever said that feelings fade away with time was fucking wrong because tell me how Kia was able to bring down the fence I had bulit round my self for three years. I promised myself, promised myself not to let him get to. Me.

It was probably the mate bond doing things to my body anyway.

"Alexia," he called, peering deeply in to my eyes.

"Do you need my help?"

"Will you drop the act Alexia. Drop the fucking act." He snapped.

"I don't understand you" I retorted, instantly regretting  letting Garvin to go and see his uncles off because I'm in a bit of a pickle jar.

"Why are you here? Of all places why did you come here" he trailed off, taking steps and advancing towards me.

"Because Today is my party, you're not really making any sense alpha Kia." 

"And what, is Garvin your boyfriend now?"

I shrugged, not wanting to give a direct response to his question. Maybe it was for the best that he assumed that I was in a relationship with Garvin. 

"So it's a yes? I didn't know you to be power hungry" he spat , of course it was silly of me to think that he was here to apologise and make up for everything he has ever done to me. 

"Alpha Kia, I advice it's best you call your driver to drive you home... You might have had a little too much to drink"I spat, not really doing a good job in hiding the disgust I felt.

"No talk to me Alexia. Tell me why you ended up with him. I demand to know why you escaped" he demanded, inching closer and closer to me.

"Have a good night Alpha Kia," I announced, ignoring his questions as I turned to leave, only to be pulled back by a sting arm.

"Don't you dare wkaj out on me tracy" he said pulling me back to where he stood.

"hey what are you doing?" Garvin shouted as he ran towards our direction, my arm still in Kia's strong grip. "Kia, let her go" Garvin declared said the minute he reached us, throwing him a punch and yanking my a away from him, " who are you to be hurting a lady? Weren't you taught basic courtesy?"

"Are you hurt" he said this time turning to me whike Kia glared at us

"No I'm not" I assured

"Do you know this jerk?"

"No I don't" I denied, Kia's mouth hanging open.

*Alright let's get you outta here," trailing behind Garvin as we approached his car, he opened the door to the passenger seat, a gesture from him that I had grown all too used to. Stepping into the car, I couldn't help but throw one last glance at Kia as he stood there, wiping out the blood from his broken lip.

Lisa Is Kian asleep already?" I asked he minute I stepped into the living room, flinging my purse across the living room, causing it to land on a sofa.

"Yes he is ,."

"Miss do you care for dinner, I just heat it up in the microwave,"

"No thank you Lisa. What about you? Have you heard dinner?"

"Um... Yes I have Miss", she nodded.

"Alexia what was the meaning of that?," Garvin's voice echoed through the entire building as he stepped in through the door.

"Nothing"

"Alexia tell me nothing Alexia, did you see the look in that guy's eyes?"

"What look?"

"He looked like he was gonna kill you if I didn't step in."

"All I saw was a drunk man, you know." 

"You do know who that is, right?"

"Alpha Kia of blackblood pack?.. I've heard about him," I shrugged.

"Does he have anything to do with kia-

"Lisa I'm getting hungry could you please heat up my dinner. I think you should heat up Garvin's meal aswell. He'd get hungry watching me enjoy my meal." I interrupted

"So tell me Garvin, I said hoping to turn his attention away from our former conversation which I very much knew where it was headed.. "about Gordian, is he-

"Gay.. he completed," yes he is", he confirmed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I assume it's not something you're proud of?"

"I didn't mean it that way.. just that he's the first of that kind in our family...guess it will take sometime for everyone to adjust to that part of him."

"Oh, but he's really fun and friendly"

"Yeah he is, he smiled,. Hey don't get worked up over Uncle Gaston's behavior, he's just really...cold. Even to us, his nephews so don't let it get to you."

I nodded, just as Alexia came in with our meals in a tray, to be honest, I really didn't want to have the apetite for a meal buh here I am putting up with a meal I had originally used as a means to switch topics.
