Chapter 80: Surrender to Love
Alexia's POV
"This!" I gestured to the dress on the girls was holding up for me. This is the new design" I announced, a loud round of applause erupting from the cheering crowd.
"Can I have this," a lady whose face I could not quite figure out in crowd yelled, waving her card at me.
"No" I smiled, "this is currently the only piece available, but I'll issue a public notice for when many pieces are designed"
The crowd went in am uproar, clearly dissatisfied from the update.
"But..." I continued, there are other designs that are yet to put up in the market place, you can meet up with the sales rep to check the samples and make your payments"
With that I slipped off the stage and ventured into the crowd to attend to my guests.
"Alexia, come over here" Garvin waved as he beckoned to me, he was standing tall in an ox blood coloured shirt and dark gray pants. His natural blonde hair was dropping in a natural unstyled manner.
Dropping my glass of juice with one of the waiters, I ambled towards the direction where he stood, waving at other guests as I did.
"Meet my Uncles Gaston and Gordian" Garvin introduced me to the middle aged men who stood on either side of him.
"It's nice to meet you sirs" I smiled, sticking out my arm for a handshake.
"So this is the famous alexia our nephew won't quit blabbering about" The one on his left, Uncle Gaston, remarked, wearing a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. He was putting on a grey tuxedo that matched his silver grey hair, he starred at my with his beady eyes that reminded me of a portal to a mysterious land. He gave off a melancholy appearance and I knew at that instant that he wasn't quite pleased to meet me.
"Oh my you are absolutely stunning" Gordian, enveloped me in an embrace, totally throwing me off balance. "I'm sorry" he whispered. He looked barely few years older than Garvin, his eyes were Amber like liquid gold, the.eyes of a ravenous wolf. His hair was wheat blonde and his skin almost pale.
"It's fine" I said smiling at him. Unlike Gaston, Gordian's eyes carried a hint of sincerity and genuine happiness.
"I'm guessing, Gaston is your Elder brother. And hold on... You're the last child" I joked, in an attempt to ease the underlying tension between Gaston and I.
"Exactly durrling, you seem quite smart" Gordian beamed, hooking arms with me, my brows rise up as I glance over at Garvin.
"He's quite the social butterfly" he mouthed in return.
"Excuse me, miss alexian, can I have a word with you" a chubby looking blonde haired man pleaded as he approached me.
"Pardon me Alpha Garvin, but I want to have a minute with the Miss" he begged, his smile genuine and gentle..
"Alright" Garvin nodded in approval as the man pulled me away from the Hitch brothers.
"Is there a problem sir?" I implored the minute we got far enough from Garvin and his uncles.
"Not at all Miss. I am Stewart Hangai" he replied, stretching out his hand for a handshake, "and I handle a modelling agency, I -i was hoping to strike a collaboration deal with your company," he added, eyes glistening with hope.
"I would love to" I smiled, gesturing to the waiter to get me a drink.
"Wonderful!" He exclaimed, "so when do we sign the documents?"
"I'm afraid this isn't the right time and place for that. But, my manager will reach out to you"
If you say so then, he countered, reaching for a glass of wine from the waiter that passed by us, he raised his glass of drink in the air, "cheers to partnerships" he exclaimed.
"Cheers" I countered.
"Alexia! Alexia," an all too familiar voice sounded in the distance, a voice that I had taught myself to forget within the past few years. The voice that was enough to arouse me without any form of physical contact.
Trying my best to ignore the voice, hoping he would stop yelling my name.
It wasn't until he walked up behind me and yanked my arm, causing to turn abruptly, dragging my attention to the person that now stood in front of me. The very same person whom I fled from three years ago.
Standing in a close proximity to him, I couldn't help but notice how identical his features were to that Kian. I was hypnotized by his warm caramel eyes. On the rare occasions when he smiled, spots of gold danced in his irises. His well defined cheekbones, and chiseled jawline, he was simply... Out of this world.
Regaining my composure, I straightened up, my gaze unwavering, "don't you think it's rude to walk up to someone and just grab them like that?" I demanded, pulling my arm away from him.
"What are you doing here, Alexia?" He whispered through gritted teeth.
"Excuse me?" Feigning ignorance, I attempted to walk away, but he pulled me back to where he stood, attracting the attention of other guests.
"What the hell are you doing here" he demanded, his voice deep and raspy this time.
"Is there a problem" Mr Stewart walked up to us, "hey young man I'll advise you-- oh Mr, I mean Alpha Kia of blackblood pack, I'll leave you too now" he stuttered, leaving Kia and I once again in a very compromising position.
"Oh, so you are the famous Alpha Kia" I mused, raising my eyebrows high, "my apologies if I had come off as rude. I hope you're enjoying the party but please just because you are quite powerful, that does not give you the right to prance around, stepping on other people" I explained, trying my best not to laugh at the confused look he had on his face.
"What do you mean. Do you not know me" he queried, slightly tilting his head examining my facial features closely.
"I'm sorry but I do not know you" I smiled, taking long strides as I walked back to where Garvin and his uncles stood, leaving a confused Kia as he stood, eyes widened to their fullest extent as he glared at me.
