Chapter 46

Chapter 46
Three Days Later

The sun shone brightly, giving everything within its reach a warm, golden yellow tone.

Benson, along with his parent, stood in front of the castle awaiting The Walker's Pack alpha and his family.

Their servant stood behind them, waiting to welcome them as well.

A few minutes later, the Walker families were appearing in their stylish golden carriage.

The first carriage held Alpha Hansel and his Luna, Cora.

Benson and his family welcome them as they get out of the carriage.

Alpha Hansel was a very stout man, unlike Alpha Lionel. He had lost his once well-built body after becoming very lazy, Benson had heard.

His Luna, as usual, was very beautiful, and Benson could see that she was an eye-catcher in her younger days.

Not that he cares about a she-wolf beauty, but her heart—still, he hopes that his daughter is as lovely as her.

Their daughter, Daphne, was in the second carriage.

She was coming out of the carriage without a footman helping her down from the high carriage, like her mother.

Caught by her beauty immediately, Benson rushed from his spot to help her.

"Shall we give our young ones some time alone while we wait in the dining room?" said Alpha Lionel with a bright smile to the Walkers' Pack Alpha and Luna, seeing that his son had already taken a liking to their daughter Daphne.

"Let us," both Alpha and Luna agreed.

As they were heading into the castle, Alpha Lionel added, "We've heard, Alpha Hansel, you're very fond of steak, and so we hired the best chef out there to prepare the tastiest steak you've ever had."

"Hmmm, I can't wait to taste it," responded Alpha Hansel, eagerly.

As Benson got nearer to Daphne, he found her even more beautiful the closer he got to her. Her beauty was like a sparkling diamond, having rich brown hair and wearing a green dress.

"Let me help you," he said, holding her hand.

Her hand was as soft and tiny within his.

Her eyes go to him as he holds it. She had green eyes with a brown center. They were the most beautiful eyes he'd ever seen, and they had the softest look that could touch even the coldest heart.

"I'm not the one you should be helping from the carriage, your royal highness," she said as he helped her down.

Her voice was soft and melodic, and Benson felt he could listen to her talking for hours.

As she stepped down, Benson watched the pretty-eyed she-wolf now helping a curly, red-haired female with blue eyes from the carriage.

He knew then that she was Daphne. She looked as he'd expect her mom to be in her younger days, an eye-catcher, but strangely, he felt disappointed that the girl he once thought was her wasn't to be his future Luna.

Being the gentle wolf he is, Benson took Daphne's hand, helping Daphne down from the carriage.

As she was standing on the ground, he apologized.

"Sorry for mistaking your maid for you, Miss Daphne." He lowered his head to her hand and kissed it.

"Anyone would, your future, Alpha," said Daphne as he stopped kissing her hand.

"Tamara is like a sibling to me, though we're not of the same blood. I found her at the age of 6 and begged Father to raise her, and we have never parted ever since."

Benson's eyes slowly went to the maid as Daphane spoke.

Immediately, the maid's eyes lowered to the ground shyly.

"You have a beautiful heart," he then said, looking back at Daphne.

Benson's mother was well known for helping the homeless and orphans. To hear that Daphne was somewhat like his mom. He thought she would one day be a great Luna for him.

He remained to hold her hand, leading her inside to his and her family.

"You have a beautiful castle," Daphne complimented.

The one at home is incomparable to yours, and also, it is the biggest castle of all the other packs I've visited."

"Thank you," said Benson.

"But you should be complimenting Father on this. He is the one who made the castle this magnificent."

"And also making the pack the number one pack of all packs," Benson later added.

Daphne smiled and said, "Then I shall do so when I'm around him."

Instead of walking through the front door with his soon-to-be wife after helping her in, Benson allows the maid to enter before he does.

"You shouldn't have your royal highness, for I'm nothing but a low wolf and a maid," said Tamara as Benson had taken her by the hand.

His thumb rested gently on top of her four fingers while the other cupped beneath them.

The way Benson held her hand, Tamara had never felt anyone hold it before so gently, as if she were priceless and the most fragile ornament.

"What a kind wolf you are," said Daphne to Benson as he was helping Tamara in.

Tamara looked at Daphne as she spoke, and fear took over her, only to meet anger in her blue eyes.

The moment Benson enters through the door as well, Daphne wraps a hand around his shoulder.

"Our family must be wondering why we're taking so long to join them," she said.

Benson laughs and says as they're on their way towards the dining room, "Not to worry, Ms. Daphne, knowing my father, it is a joy for him we're taking so long to join them, for he'd believe we've come to like each other already.'

"So, have you come to like me already, your future Alpha?" Daphne turns to him with a smile, and her cheek turns red as she blushes.

"Learning that you have a heart as kind as my mom's, you've won my heart entirely already," said Benson, smiling back at her.

Daphne smiles even brighter.
