Chapter 47

Chapter 47
"You two were taking a long time to join us," said Alpha Lionel as Benson and Daphne walked into the dining room.

The dining room was a vast, white space with a long table and numerous chairs. The walls held expensive paintings, and above the ceiling was a gleaming crystal chandelier.

"I'm sure that is good news to you, Father," responded Benson as he helped Daphne into a chair and shortly sat in a seat across from her.

Alpha Lionel laughs.

"What were you two wolves talking about? That's why you both took so long to join us?" asked Daphne's mother, curiously, with a smile.

"About us already being fond of each other," responded Daphne, having a brighter smile.

A plate of food was shared out for both her and then Benson as she spoke.

"Good then," said Alpha Hansel joyfully.

"Then the wedding can be within a month."

"Why so long?" said Luna Cora.

"We can make your son and my daughter marry in a week with the best wedding planner."

"The sooner they're married. Your son can produce an heir," cut in Alpha Hansel.

Benson looked across the table to see Daphne, and before their eyes could meet, she lowered her head shyly at the mention of giving him an heir.

"I agree with that," said Alpha Lionel, raising his wine cup.

"Son, do you have any issue with marrying Daphne within a week?" he then asked.

Knowing how badly his father wants to hold his heir and grandpup before he dies, Benson would marry Daphne even now, just to make his father happy; it was the only thing he could do for him after everything he had done for him and this pack.

"I agree, Father." He, too, raised his cup.

After the meal, the alphas and Luna talk about ending the war that has been going on between their packs.

Luna Spyra asked Benson to take Daphne to see the beautiful garden.

Daphne heard many royal wolves who have seen it talk about how heavenly the sight of the Black Winter castle garden is, and she's very eager to see it as well.

Benson helped her from the seat, and they both walked to the garden. The moment Daphne saw the garden with countless brightly colored roses, she became motionless at their beauty.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Benson stared down at her, seeing how speechless she was at the sight of it.

"For a moment I thought I'd died and gone to heaven," said Daphne.

"I can't have you dying on me yet, Ms. Daphne, when I've just met you," said Benson, which makes Daphne's cheeks as red as the red rose.

They both began to saunter along the garden. Daphne's hand is around Benson's right arm while they both walk closely, beholding the beauty of every rose and plant.

"I was sad I was unlucky in not finding my fated mate in 5 years when others do, but now I'm about to marry you, Mr. Benson. I don't regret that I still haven't found my fated mate," confessed Daphne.

They both stopped in the middle of the garden before a huge fountain. The water looks magical in the sun, dazzling, and the air is filled with the sweet fragrance of the plants.

Quickly, Benson stepped away from Daphne and returned to her with the whitest rose.

"This is for you, Daphne," he said as he handed her the rose.

"Thank you," she said, taking it into her hand gently.

As Daphne is admiring the rose, which is gleaming under the sunlight, Benson asks, "Why, Ms. Daphne, do you see me fit as your mate after not finding your fated mate as well?"

Daphne's blue eyes slowly rose to him, and they reminded him of being at the sea looking into the ocean gleaming under the sun.

"I've heard many stories of you, a die-hard wolf to your pack, and also of your love and loyalty for your pack. That is all the qualities I'd wish in my fated mate and have admired in you."

"So being with me, you feel you've found your fated mate," interjected Benson.

"Yes," Daphne agreed.

"Also, I don't see myself being deflowered by any wolf apart from you. That's why I was determined for my dad to send the proposal of wanting to become your wife."

As Daphne is speaking, she's picking off the petals of the flower.

Benson swallowed hard as she now had the naked flower in her hand.

"General Benson," they were both interrupted by the houseworker.

"A man from your army is here to see you. He says it's urgent," said the male.

"Please tell him I'm on my way," said Benson.

"I apologize that I have to leave you so soon. We'll continue our conversation another time," he gently kisses Daphne's hand.

"Yes, your future Alpha. We will talk about me wanting to give you as many heirs as you desire," said Daphne, looking down at him as his lips slowly left the back of her hand.

Benson's eyes meet hers to see her giving him a seductive look. He smirked and then hurried off.

Daphne smiled proudly, watching Benson hurriedly walking around the castle. He was the most handsome wolf; that's why she too wanted him to be her mate only. Benson was tall and had hair as dark as the night and eyes that held the power to make you fear him and desire him at the same time.

Shortly after reentering the castle, Daphne was shown to her new room. It was as opulent as she'd expected and suited for the future Luna of the number one and most powerful pack, her.

As the maid of the castle was leaving, Daphne asked her to call her own maid, Tamara.

The moment Tamara entered the room and closed the door behind her, she received a hit in her face from Daphne.
