"Land, finally."Louise sighed dramatically kneeling on the grass.
I laughed and helped her up while the men got our luggage from the trunk. I looked up at the house and smiled loving how beautiful the architectural design was.
"Six bedrooms, eight baths, two pools and the ocean for a backyard."Yvonne whispered next to me.
"I love it."I sighed happily.
"Good because one day it will be half yours."Hunter whispered in my ear.
"Are you two getting married and haven't told us?"Yvonne asked.
"Marriage? Who's getting married?"Brian exclaimed.
"Ask her, she's the one who has proposed twice today."Hunter replied throwing me under the bus.
"Go getter, I love it."Evelyn added.
"No one is getting married, it was a joke."I defended myself.
"Are you trying to convince us or yourself?"Yvonne asked.
"Don't poke the fire Yvonne, it might just burn you."I warned jokingly.
"Okay no more, let's get inside and away from this heat."Yvonne declared.
Hunter took my hand and guided me up the steps as he carried the suitcase with the other hand. The door was already open so we all filled in and the interior was even more grand than the interior. I now understood why kids weren't allowed in the vacation, it was all so white and pristine, two things that didn't go well with kids.
The living room had a huge Tv and a couple of cozy looking white couches. The kitchen was visible too from the living room and I could see someone in there."That's Deborah, she's the caretaker of the house and will be cooking and cleaning for us while we're here."Hunter explained.
I nodded and let my eyes wander further. The bay windows allowed a view of the ocean in the far distance and the pool stretching out to the beach.
"Everyone knows where their room is so bye suckers. See you in a few hours or tomorrow or never. Let's go husband."Yvonne declared.
"Right behind you."Max replied following her up the staircase.
"Let's go, I'll show you our room."Hunter said to me so we followed everyone else up the stairs.
The grand staircase winded around leading to the second floor that split into three hallways. Everyone went their way as I followed Hunter who opened a door on the right letting us in. The room was beautiful with brown wooden floors, a gray carpet, king size bed, gray sofa, a hammock, chairs overlooking the beach and a balcony.
"It's like a hotel room."I cried happily running to the balcony.
"That's what it was designed to look like."Hunter chuckled enjoying my enthusiasm.
The water looked so blue that I couldn't wait to go for a swim.
"Shower with me?"Hunter whispered in my ear caging me to the railing with his arms.
"Okay but no funny business, I'm still sore."I requested him.
"I know, we won't do anything but shower." Hunter promised me.
We stayed like that for a few more minutes before going to the bathroom. It had a white bathtub, glass shower, double sink and a toilet. It was just like the one in his apartment but bigger and with more natural light.
Hunter and I both stripped and I made sure to put on a shower cap before joining Hunter under the warm water. As Hunter promised all we did was shower and wash each other. Thirty minutes later we left the bathroom, changed into comfortable light clothes and decided to take a nap. It had been quite the journey and we were both exhausted.
When I woke up it was dark and Hunter was still asleep next to me. I detached myself from his arms and went to the bathroom to relieve myself. I couldn't go back asleep so I decided to do some exploring. The house had enough lighting for me to find my way without disturbing anyone since it seemed I was the only one awake.
There was an eerie beauty in the house that allowed me to enjoy it. I found a bar in one of the rooms downstairs, a home theatre, a gaming room, laundry room and a dining room next to the kitchen. The backdoor was closed so I couldn't go to the backyard but there was enough time to get to that later.
I ran into Deborah carrying towels as I walked back into the living room.
"Habari ya jioni madam?"She greeted politely with a coast accent.
Good evening madam.
"Mzuri sana."I replied.
Very good.
"Nilikuwa namalizia hapa, chakula ki tayari jikoni. Nitarudi kesho."She explained.
I was just finishing up here, all the food is ready in the kitchen. I'll be back tomorrow.
"Asanti sana, usiku mwema."I wished her.
Thank you so much, Goodnight.
"Nawe pia."She said before disappearing out of sight.
You too.
I didn't want to eat without the others so I decided to wait for them as I watched some TV. Before I could get to it a beauty in the corner of the living room caught my eye. A white pristine Yamaha piano. It had been a while since I'd played the piano and to my surprise it was properly tuned. I took a seat and stroked a few keys. The tingly feeling I got anytime I played encompassed my body so I made myself comfortable and started playing some of my favorites songs, singing along softly to avoid waking anyone up. I got so lost in the music that I didn't realize that at some point I wasn't alone anymore.
After playing the last note of A thousand years by Christina Perri I stopped to give myself a break and was surprised by clapping. I turned around to find nine everyone everyone on the stairs looking at me as they all clapped. I blushed looking away having no idea that I'd attracted an audience.
"I'm sorry for waking you guys."I apologized.
"Don't apologize, that was beautiful."Yvonne praised and everyone agreed with her.
"Thank you, I love the violin best but the piano was the first instrument I learned."I explained.
"You must have had one hell of a teacher then."Brian praised.
"She was, I owe her so much."I replied recalling all the fond memories I'd created with Dr. Anyango as she taught me how to play.
"Do you take requests? I would really love to hear some Shawn Mendez."Evelyn asked.
"Of course."I replied as I started to play and sing Hard to Forget by Shawn and Selena Gomez.
The ladies sang along making a mess of the song and butchering the words but we had fun nonetheless and that's what mattered.
"Okay enough before you guys burst our ear drums. Time to eat."Owen demanded when we started the third song.
No one protested as I abandoned the piano and joined everyone as we walked into the kitchen. Hunter stopped me and trapped me against the wall.
"I woke up alone in a cold bed, why is that?"He asked tugging on my earlobe.
"I didn't want to wake you."I explained.
"Not good enough try again."He growled sucking on my neck.
I hummed in pleasure the sensations travelling all the way to my pussy.
"I'm sorry, I'll wake you next time."I apologized.
"Much better."Hunter conceded kissing me hard his tongue battling mine for dominance.
"Don't swallow her dude, she's all yours."Brian teased forcing us to break apart.
Both of us turned to glare at him making him scurry away in fear.
"Let's go eat."Hunter said kissing me again shortly before taking my hand and leading me to the others.
Deborah had outdone herself and cooked a delicious feast for us.
"Shouldn't we eat in the dining room?"Evelyn asked.
Everyone was just grabbing plates and cutlery and sharing them around the kitchen island.
"No need its just more space for Deborah to clean."Yvonne replied.
I had no issue with eating in the kitchen, it was more intimate and the space was big enough for all of us. I served Hunter his favorite meals from all the varieties laid out before getting myself a plate. I sat next to him as we waited for everyone to settle down. Brian surprisingly led us in a word of prayer before inviting us all to dig in.
Hunters friends were loud and fun but also smart and caring. There were some of the richest people in the country but one wouldn't even know that while hanging out with them.
"So Nala, or should we call you Teacher Nala now. Are you excited to start teaching?"Francis asked me.
"It'll be a bit of an adjustment and I have a lot to learn since this isn't something I was trained for but I really look forward to it."I replied.
"I think you'll make an excellent teacher, not just because you're talented but also because you are willing to try something new. Not many people have that as they enjoy their comfort zone too much."Owen added.
"Thank you Horsie."I responded smiling at him.
"Remind me how the nicknames started again and what they mean."Evelyn asked.
"Yeah and how to make them stop."Max added.
"They are never going to stop Giraffe, unless you have a way to lose some height."I replied.
"Not possible, it's one of my most endearing qualities."Max defended.
"Than just accept it."I retorted then turned to Evelyn."Francis is Gazelle because he is adorable with his baby face, Max is Giraffe obviously due to the height, Owen is Horsie because horses are graceful and regal, Brian is monkey for the reason that sex is always on his mind like monkeys and Hunter is Bear because he is big and somewhat fluffy but still ferocious and protective if needed be."I explained.
"I still think I got the short end of the stick on this one."Brian lamented.
"No you didn't, it fits you perfectly. She has my stamp of approval."Louise added.
"Mine too."Yvonne agreed making Brian even more miserable.
I knew the guys didn't mind the nicknames that much otherwise I would have already stopped.
"I actually like mine." Francis chipped in.
"Of course you do, you baby faced idiot." Brian scoffed.
"Don't insult my man, I like his baby face."Louise defended her husband.
"He can handle it."Brian added flicking a grape at them.
Francis was about to throw a piece of pineapple back when Hunter banged his hand on the table stopping them.
"No food fight, behave like the grownups you are."He bellowed.
"Sheesh someone needs to get laid, Nala do something."Brian teased making everyone at the table glare at him.
"Seriously Brian learn to read the room."Max scolded.
They were all acting like siblings and I found it quite adorable. Growing up it was just my sister and I so sometimes I always wondered what it would be like to have more siblings. Probably more chaotic but my parents stopped at two and I never got to find out.
"Is it always like this?"I whispered to Hunter.
"Worse."He replied in a warning tone as if asking me to prepare for the worst.
I was just happy to be with them so I didn't mind how they behaved with me or around each other. As long as they respected me and didn't cross my boundaries, I was okay.
The food fight didn't happen but glares were exchanged and not so kind words, the kind you would expect when ten unsupervised adults were together. The meal ended with the guys leaving the kitchen to go start a bonfire while we ladies stayed back to clear the table. And by ladies I meant just me because everyone else refused to help.
"I love vacations. No dishes, no kids, no chores and best of all no drink limit because there's no work in the morning."Yvonne sighed happily as she sipped her wine.
"I couldn't agree more."June agreed with her as they clinked their glasses together.
I smiled at them as I put the left overs in the fridge because I didn't feel comfortable leaving it like that even if we were on vacation. I wanted to lighten Deborah's load as much as I could.
"Let's join the guys outside, I think they already have the fire going."Louise suggested after a while.
We took a few bottles of wine with us since the guys already sorted themselves drink wise. The backyard was beautiful and even more at night under the clear night sky, the sound of the waves and the light reflecting from the pool.
