The guys were already smoking cigars and drinking whiskey when we got to them. Hunter beckoned me and I took a seat on his lap leaning back on his chest.
"You good?"Hunter whispered caressing my bare thighs.
Everyone was in a loose t-shirts and shorts because the heat at the coast was no joke.
"Perfect."I replied glancing at him.
"Good."He smiled pecking my lips before going back to smoking his cigar.
"Can I?"I asked him reaching for it.
Hunter didn't hesitate, just passed it over to me. I took a puff just like he had taught me, made sure I didn't inhale the smoke and blew it out. I did it a couple of more times until I realized it was too quiet.
I looked around to find eight pairs of eyes staring at me in shock. I blushed looking at Hunter realizing what I'd just done.
"I swear to God Nala, you are a different breed."Owen spoke up breaking the silence.
"You like strip clubs, kissing girls and now you're smoking cigars. How many more layers do you have to you?"Brian asked.
"I'm like an onion."I grinned at him.
"How can you smoke that?"Yvonne asked me., looking disgusted.
"This is my second time actually and I like the feeling it gives."I shrugged taking another puff.
"Hunter the day you mess up, I'm marrying her."Brian declared.
"What about me?"Evelyn cried out.
"You're not going anywhere, I'm keeping both of you."Brian grinned as if he'd just come up with the best idea.
"No you're not."Hunter growled.
"I wouldn't mind having Nala for a co-wife, she's gorgeous."Evelyn chimed in.
"Hey I called dibs first."Yvonne added.
It was fun watching them argue over me like that even if they were just joking.
"Okay enough guys, I'm not going to be anyone's co-wife. I know I'm cool but you all can't handle me only he can."I declared caressing Hunter's face.
He smiled and took my hand kissing my palm.
"She's sassy too, I'd like to join the bid."June quipped making me laugh.
"Guys stop it before Hunter blows up and takes us all with him."Max chortled looking at Hunter.
Hunter knew his friends were just joking but he couldn't help taking their words to heart.
"Okay enough about me, can we talk about something else."I requested wanting to move away from that conversation.
"I have an idea, craziest places we've ever had sex, with current or previous partners."Louise suggested.
Everyone looked at her shocked because such topics would be introduced by Brian not sweet innocent Louise.
"Don't look at me like that."Louise mumbled hiding behind her husband.
"I like it, so I'll go first. Presidential limousine with Evelyn and under the podium during the president's address on Madaraka day with an officer whose name I can't for the life of me remember."Brian chipped in.
Everyone gapped at him in shock because they didn't expect him to be so blunt.
"If someone looked up definitely of dog in the dictionary, there would be a picture of you Brian."June laughed.
"Don't hate, whose next? Ah, Nala."Brian grinned since we were seated right next to him.
I didn't feel comfortable sharing about my sex life with Hunter but it was a game and I had to play.
"Nothing crazy with my ex it was all boring but with Hunter I'll say a parking lot."I replied recalling that crazy moment.
"We've all had sex in the car Nala, that's not too crazy."Evelyn pointed out.
"Who said we were in the car?"I mumbled stunning everyone to silence for a third time in one night.
"Please let me marry her."Brian begged again.
"No!"Hunter grunted holding me tighter against him.
"Nala, you dirty dirty girl. Weren't you afraid of getting caught?"Yvonne asked me.
"You said you wanted location not details so can we move on please."I demanded softly.
Hunter didn't share much about his experience but he did day the parking lot moment was the craziest for him too. He was mum about one with an ex which made me a little bit curious but I didn't dwell on it.
Listening to everyone talk about their crazy sexual experiences made me think that on some deep level I was dealing with lunatics. How could someone have sex in a crowded matatu of all places? Seriously, public transport?! It just didn't make sense but it was hilarious listening to Max try to explain himself and how the dynamics of that worked.
We talked well into the night, bonding, catching up with each others lives as we got drunk and smoked cigars. It turned out to be a great way of starting our vacation with the promise of more wild moments to come.
"Good morning sleepy heads."Yvonne greeted us as Hunter and I walked into the kitchen holding hands.
"Morning."I mumbled still sleepy while Hunter just nodded at her.
"You two look tired for people who have slept in. I wonder what kind of rigorous activities might have kept you up?"She teased.
I blushed and tried to hide behind Hunter because she was right. When everyone went to sleep after talking for hours the previous night, Hunter and I had enjoyed some alone time that had left me feeling sore all over again.
"It's too early Yvonne, give it a rest."Hunter defended.
"Okay fine but only because you asked so nicely."Yvonne relented.
I sighed in relief that she wasn't going to question us anymore and stepped out from behind Hunter.
"Where's everyone?"I asked noticing she was the only one in the kitchen.
"Around here somewhere doing their own thing. You two are the last ones to get up so you need to catch up. Oh and by the way Nala, we ladies are going shopping in about an hour, we all kind of under packed so be ready by then."Yvonne informed me before leaving the kitchen carrying a glass of orange juice that I could bet a limb had alcohol in it.
"Breakfast milady?"Hunter offered pulling out a chair for me.
"My pleasure darling."I replied smiling at him.
He took a seat next to me our legs rubbing together under our robes. Breakfast was simple, waffles, pancakes, bacon, eggs, fruits, orange juice and coffee.
"At this rate, I'll gain five kilograms by the time we leave here."I complained to Hunter enjoying the delicious pancakes.
"More of you to love then."Hunter grinned.
"What if it goes to the wrong places like my tummy or my cheeks."I lamented.
"There's no such thing as wrong place baby girl. I love all of you with all your imperfections because they make you who you are. And believe me when I say that no amount of weight gain will make me feel less attracted to you."Hunter reassured me.
His words were kind but I had survived high school being body shamed for having a bit of a belly and that would always stay with me. It came and went all the time but I never completely lost it so I was always insecure about it.
"Thank you but your words are just a band aid on a broken leg."I muttered sadly.
"Then I just have to spend the rest of my life loving you and proving to you just how beautiful you are."Hunter declared.
I smiled at him and leaning in to peck his lips.
"Challenge accepted."I whispered our lips apart before leaning back in for another kiss.
Most women struggled with loving their bodies because we were taught that the perfect bodies were like those on skinny models in magazines yet that was only a tiny percentage of the population. I believed that all body shapes and sizes were beautiful but sometimes the harsh reality of the world we lived in got to me. I struggled with loving my body sometimes but with Hunter it became easier because the man literally saw me as a walking goddess. Now I just had to replace all the negativity I'd heard over the years with his adoring words.
"Make sure to get sunscreen while you're out shopping, we'll be out in the sun a lot and I don't want you to burn."Hunter reminded me.
"Okay I will. Need me to get you anything else?"I asked him.
"A couple of shorts will be nice, I don't think I packed enough."Hunter replied.
"You didn't pack anything beach worthy Hunter, just be glad we're going shopping."I laughed recalling the clothes I'd seen in the suitcase.
"That's why I'm paying for everything you're going to get."Hunter defended himself.
"Yeah okay but next time let me do the packing. As much as I appreciate the surprise, we will be better off if I do all the packing in the future."I informed him.
"Yes ma'am."He smiled pecking my lips.
After breakfast Hunter and I went back to our room to shower and change, me for shopping with the girls and him for lounging around the pool with the guys.
"Stay in the shade until I bring the sunscreen or you'll burn too."I warned Hunter.
"Okay baby girl, I will."He agreed helping me with the zipper of my dress.
The only thing Hunter had packed that was wearable for shopping in the costal heat was a white sundress. It was a bit long but otherwise it was pretty and sheer enough that I wouldn't die of heatstroke. I paired it with brown strapped sandals and put my hair up in a pony tail to keep it out of my face.
"How do I look?"I asked Hunter standing infront of him after I was done.
"Exquisite as always."He smiled leaning in to kiss me.
I wrapped my hands around his broad shoulders and kissed him back.
"You remember the card pin?"Hunter whispered pulling back to kiss my neck which definitely had marks on it.
"Yes."I replied stepping away before my body caved and we started making out.
"Take care of yourself then, I'll see you when you get back."Hunter said.
"You too, have fun bonding with the guys."I said pecking his lips one last time before skipping out of the room.
I found the ladies waiting for me in the van and thankfully I wasn't the last one to get there. Once Yvonne joined us, the driver took off taking us to the nearest town.
"I need bikinis, lots and lots of bikinis. We're probably going out in the yacht tomorrow and I need a good tan."Louise declared.
"Brian told me about the yacht, said it was the first thing they ever bought together."Yvonne replied.
"Yes and they love that thing probably more than us but we can comfort ourselves with the fact that they can never sleep with it."Yvonne joked making us all laugh.
I recalled my conversation with Hunter about the yacht and him promising to take me out on it. Looks like he was finally going to fulfill his promise like he always did.
"And we're here. Ladies don't be afraid to swipe those cards, we earned this."June declared just as the town started to show in the distance.
"It's time to show ourselves some appreciation for all our hard work."Yvonne chimed in and we all agreed.
It wasn't my card but Hunter would have my head if I used mine so I agreed too, halfheartedly anyway. Salim, our driver found a parking spot and promised to be there waiting for us as soon as we were done. I knew we would take hours considering the four ladies I would be shopping with so I braced myself for lots of walking.
"Please don't judge me but which town are we in exactly?"I whispered to Yvonne as we piled out of the van.
"Nothing to be ashamed of love, the coast is huge and I'd be confused too. We're in Malindi."She informed me.
At least she didn't make fun of me for being ignorant of my surroundings which I really appreciated.
I'd been to Mombasa once on a school trip but we only went to the educational sights and didn't visit any other towns. It would be nice to explore Malindi as it was a beautiful town bustling with life and filled with action. There were curio shops around every corner selling lots of interesting merchandise.
The girls didn't hesitate to enter each shop that piqued their interest and we sometimes bought ridiculous stuff but having fun while at it. We sampled a lot of street food too and of all of them, the viazi karai stole my heart. They were delicious and cooked with so many spices it made my tongue and throat burn which was basically the whole essence of the dish.
