CHAPTER 35 Haise’s Rebelion

Haize

Dead.

It's been two years since mama fell into a coma when dad decided to give him peace. I wanted to curse dad for doing that when mom is the only one who kept me insane.

"You are old enough to take my crown, son," sabi sa akin ni Dad. "I know it's hard for you about losing your mother but Asturia needed you as well," sabi pa niya.

"Sorry, dad. I'm not going to take the crown. I decided to live the way I want," sagot ko sa kanya.

"What?" gulat na tanong nito. "Hindi ba karapatan mong ang magmamana ng trono? Your mom wanted you to become the king because he believed that you'll lead Asturia to success. Bakit inaayawan mo ang bagay ng huling hiling sayo na mama mo?"

"I already told mom about not wanting to take the crown. I don't want it, Dad," sagot ko sa kanya.

Bumuntong-hininga si Dad.

"Okay. I respect your decision for now. But think about it. I'll hand the crown when your ready," sagot niya bago lumabas ng aking silid.

The night after graduating high school and visiting my mom's grave I left the castle for good. Bumalik ako kay Achilles and decided to join their group.

"I need to have that omega as soon as possible," sabi ko sa driver.

"Our men are waiting for your command sir," sagot niya.

"Our spy said, Marius, is being cautious now. He is aware that you are using Sebastian, boss."

As expected.

Marius isn't dumb as Sebastian. He probably learned that from the military school he went to. He has been tailing Haze for years and probably he already knew that I'm a member of that group.

Ah, he's freaking wrong. I'm only using Haze for my own good. I waited for Achilles to die and then become the group's leader. Haze isn't really the terrorist group but Kaizen, my own personal group that attacks and assassinates royals...

Right now, my eyes are focused on the one reason why my mate is dead.

Marius.

"Yes Hanz?" tanong ko sa kabilang linya ng tawagan ako ng aking nakababatang kapatid na bukas ay ikakasal na sa kanyang fated mate. Dad passed down the crown to him after I disappeared for years and before he died.

"When will you come back? My wedding is tomorrow. I want you to be with me," sabi nito sa akin.

"I'm on my way. Marami lang talaga akong ginagawa ngayon but I'll be there," sagot ko sa kanya.

"Seriously big bro? How many times you already stood me?"

"Not this time," natatawang sagot ko.

"Be sure. I'll wait for you."

Pagkatapos kong patayin ang tawag ay napangisi ako.

"Tetsuya," sabi ko sa driver slash my right-hand man.

"Yes, boss?" tanong nito habang nakatingin sa kalsada at nagmamaneho.

"Tell them to be ready. Marius and Cole are going to attend my brother's wedding. Tell them to do it exactly at two in the afternoon as soon as those bastards left," sabi ko sa kanya.

"Understood, boss," sagot nito sa akin.

Let's see how Marius reacts when his family is gone.

Ngumisi si Lemuel.

"Is it wrong to become curious?" patanong niyang sagot.

Bumuntong hininga ako.

"I'll use someone to do that job for me," sagot ko sa kanya.

"Bingo," tawang-tawang sabi ni Lemuel. "That's so you, Haize. You always manipulate someone to do your bidding," sabi pa niya.

"Well, that's the way I am," medyo naiinis na sabi ko sa kanya bago inilabas ang aking smartphone to transfer the money to him. "As the priced we agreed on, I deposited it on your account," sabi ko.

Sumenyas ito sa isa pa niyang kasama at tinignan ang hawak nitong smartphone bago ito tumango sa amo nito.

Isinara ni Tetsuya ang case at saka binitbit.

"Nice doing business with you, Lemuel," sabi ko bago tumayo. "But I'm sorry for being rude. I have to catch my brother's wedding," sabi ko pa.

"My pleasure," sagot nito sa akin.

Lumabas na kami ni Tetsuya sa restaurant na iyon.

"I don't really like doing business with that bastard," sabi ko sa kanya. "But I don't have a choice. He has some good stuff that I wanted. F*cking mafia," sabi ko pa.

"You have to endure it, boss," sagot ni Tetsuya sa akin.

It took us two hours rides on Jet bago kami nakarating sa Asturia. Sinalubong kami ng mga tao ni Hanz at in-escourt patungo sa palasyo mismo. It's the night before his wedding at ganoon na lamang ka-busy ang mga tao doon.

"Big bro," sabi sa akin ni Hanz na noon ay nakasuot lamang ng roba niya.

Ah, he really looked like mom. Ito lamang ang kamukha niya despite being my half-brother.

Siya iyong tinutukoy ni Dad ng araw na nagtalo sila ni Mama. He is the son of Mom's real fated mate and dad is reluctant to pass him the crown since he wasn't his son. But me being gone didn't leave him a choice kung hindi ipasa ito sa kanya. Mama met his fated mate when I was five during one of his travels.

"Are you excited, your highness?" nagbibirong tanong ko sa kanya.

"Yes of course. Sino pa naman ang hindi excited kapag ikakasal ka sa taong nakatadhana sa iyo," sagot niya sa akin. "Anyway come with me. The table's waiting fro you," excited niyang sagot. "You have so many catch upping we need to do tonight," aniya pa.

Pagkatapos naming kumain ay tumambay muna kami ni Hanz sa balcony ng kanyang silid habang may hawak na beer sa aming mga kamay.

"Yeah. All the guest, including the Marius arrived few hours before you do. Dumating na rin si Sebastian ngayon-ngayon lang," sabi niya.

"Oh that's good," sagot ko sa kanya. Very good.

"You guys should talk. Wala na akong naging balita na nag-usap kayo after you left," sabi pa niya.

"We will tomorrow. In fact kailangan talaga naming mag-usap," sagot ko sa kanya.

"Good, big bro. Nag-aalala na akong dinidistansyao na ang sarili mo sa mga kaibigan mo. Wala na din akong balita kung natagpuan mo na ang fated mate mo. You always, always working," aniya bago tumungga ng beer sa can na hawak niya.

Hindi alam ni Hanz ang kwento ng aking buhay. Si Mama lang ang nakakaalam at kahit ni isa ay wala kong pinagsabihan.

"Don't worry. I'll meet my mate along the way," nakangiting sagot ko sa kany bago tumungga sa beer na hawak ko.

"You better be. I don't want you to grow old alone," seryosong sabi niya.

"I won't okay? Stop worrying, kiddo," sagot ko sa kanya.

Kinabukasan ay ibinigay ko ang hudyat sa aking mga tao na nasa Bree. The plan is calculated at kailangan hindi ito pumalpak. I need that omega alive.

Nakita kong naroon nga si Marius kasama si Cole. Both of them are eyeing me. I just smiled at them and they smiled back while Sebastian glared dagger at him. Obviously, he's pissed.

Nagtapos ang ceremony at dumiretso kami sa reception area.

"Hello, Marius. It's been a long time," nakangiting ssabi ko sa kanya.

"Yeah. How are you?" kaswal na tanong niya sa akin as if I didn't know that he was aware of me as his enemy.

"I'm fine and how about you?. I heard you have already become the Duke of Bree. Good for you," nakangiting sabi ko pa.

"Yeah. Where have you been all this time? Akala ko ikaw ang magmamana ng korona ng Tito," anito sa akin.

"I don't have any interest to be a king. I like living freely," sagot ko sa kanya at saka bumaling kay Sebastian. "Hey Sebastian, come here," tawag ko dito.

I felt Marius become tense and Sebastian's reluctant to come to us but of course, this is a royal gathering. They need to act as if nothing happens between them.

"It's been ages since we reunited," sabi ko sa kanila. "I hope everything doing well. Cheers," sabi ko pa bago itinaas ang aking glass of champagne.

"Cheers," sabay nilang sabi bago itinaas ang kanilang mga baso.

Kaswal na nag-uusap ang dalawa habang ako'y nagi-imagine kung paano magtatapos ang isa sa kanila. I'm hitting two births in one stone, ika nga. Sebastian wanted the thing that he couldn't have and Marius will loss everything.

Hindi pa naman nangyayari ay gustong-gusto ko ng tumawa ng malakas. Gusto kong makita ang pighati ng mukha ng dalawang dati ay mag bestfriend. Gusto kong makita kung paano nila sirain ang isa't-isa.

Biglang tumunog ang aking smartphone.

"Excuse me, I have to answer this," paalam ko sa kanilang dalawa.

"Boss, we have a problem," sabi ni Tetsuya sa akin.

"What is it?" tanong ko.

"Police arrived before our men could even open the safe room where the two omegas hid," sabi niya.

"Ah, as expected. Tell our men to escape immediately," utos ko sa kanya.

"Understood, boss," sagot niya bago pinatay ang tawag. Ibinalik ko naman sa aking suot na slacks ang aking smartphone at saka bumalik kung saan naroon sina Sebastian at Marius na parang mga sira ulong nag-uusap even if I can see clearly that they wanted to wring each other's neck.

As expected for a Marius Sandoval, he's smart. I can agree with that.
