Chapter 50 Sorry, I really lost control
Camilla watched Cancri leave, becoming increasingly uneasy. The woman stood up, backing away, holding back her fear. The memory of Danieru hurting her a few hours earlier came back to haunt Camilla, and the pain pulled her away.
Danieru, seeing Camilla's reaction, felt guilty. He stepped forward quickly, took Camilla's hand, and hugged her.
"I'm sorry," Danieru said softly.
Camilla, hearing her husband's words, held her breath. She couldn't fight back; she didn't have the strength to push him away.
Danieru could feel Camilla's body trembling. He knew she was afraid, and it was because of him. He released his embrace and looked into Camilla's eyes, imprisoning her as they met.
"Camilla, I'm sorry... please, don't leave me. I was wrong, and give me a chance to make it right." Danieru brought his face closer, hoping Camilla would forgive him.
Camilla, hearing Danieru's words, fell silent. She stared into his eyes and finally lost herself. She closed her eyes, unable to remain trapped in the atmosphere Danieru had created. She couldn't resist, and for some reason, her heart ached as she saw him gaze at her with a gleam of regret.
"I love you, don't ever leave me again. Camilla, I'm in love with you, don't run away, don't ever disappear. I'll go crazy if you're not with me, I... I love you so much."
Camilla opened her eyes; she had just heard an incredibly painful confession. No... no one should fall in love. She didn't want Danieru to love her, nor did she want anyone to give her those feelings.
"I love you sincerely, I can't control myself." Danieru hoped that this confession would soften Camilla, and he also hoped that she would give him a chance.
He admitted defeat; he finally had to reveal the feelings that had been growing and nesting in his heart for who knows how long. The man took a breath, then looked into Camilla's eyes.
“I don’t know when this happened, but I feel it growing deeper with each passing second. Camilla, I love you.”
Camilla turned her face away. “Don’t ever fall in love, I’m not the right person, and I’m just your friend.”
Danieru was frozen, unable to form any more words. Camilla was a stubborn woman. He wanted her to open her heart, and try not to lock herself in the valley of destruction.
Danieru leaned in to crush Camilla’s lips, embraced her, and pressed the nape of her neck to deepen the kiss.
Camilla hit him hard in the chest, then took a deep breath when he released her. Camilla glared at him, clenching her fists.
Bugh ...
"A-akhhh..."
Danieru held back the pain in his stomach. He stared at Camilla, feeling her increasingly frightening. How could she ruin the romantic atmosphere he'd built? Could she really not sense his sincerity?
"I finally feel relieved," Camilla said. She was still afraid, but to protect her relationship with Danieru, she suppressed it.
Danieru, listening to Camilla's story, stared in disbelief. The crazy woman felt relieved after committing violence against him; that ancient woman could truly drive him insane.
"Doggie, don't say the word love. I don't want you to give me your feelings. Remember, we're just friends, don't ruin that relationship with your slippery lips." Camilla was giving him a serious warning; it would be better if Danieru and her remained friends.
Danieru, understanding that Camilla would reject his love, felt a little embarrassed, and then smiled. "Kitty, I was just joking. I wouldn't love a rude and angry woman like you."
“That’s good,” Camilla replied. She then approached Danieru, extended her hand, and smiled.
Danieru, seeing Camilla’s behavior, immediately took her outstretched hand. He returned Camilla’s smile and stood up straight.
“Doggie, I forgive you.”
“Sorry, I really lost control.” Danieru repeated the words, feeling guilty towards Camilla.
“No… I’m at fault for this too.” Camilla smiled warmly and pulled Danieru to sit on the sofa.
Danieru looked around as he followed Camilla, noticing the clock, which had just struck eleven at night. He paused, remembering that Camilla would feel pain at twelve, or a little before that.
“What’s wrong?” Camilla asked.
“Are you holding him back?” Danieru asked.
“Yes… don’t mess around here. Mr. Snake might get angry if we do something he doesn’t want.”
“But—”
Camilla stopped Danieru with her lips, and kissed him softly. She then finished, looked at Danieru again, and held his hand tightly. She felt calmer, and Camilla felt in control.
“You’re going to be hurt,” Danieru said.
“Trust me,” Camilla said.
“But…” Danieru swallowed hard. “… Kitty, let’s go back to the hotel we’re staying at, or we can rent a room here.”
“No… I can’t leave without Master Snake’s permission. I’ve become one of his slaves; I lost at his gambling.”
“I’ll save you,” Danieru said.
“He’s no ordinary person; he’s a mafia leader.”
Brak ...
The voice was so loud, both Camilla and Danieru averted their gazes and stared at the man standing in front of the door with a blank expression.
The man stepped in and stood not too far from Camilla and Danieru.
“S-sir,” Camilla muttered.
Cancri took a breath. “Sit down, I need to talk to you both.”
Danieru couldn’t respond; he could only watch as his wife quickly sat down and glared at him. Not wanting to cause trouble, Danieru quickly sat down beside Camilla.
“Danieru Malaike, the second son of Carlos Travis. You are the legitimate child of that man’s marriage to Listrina Malaike, yet you are treated like a stepchild by your father.” Cancri glanced at Danieru and saw that his fists were clenched. Perhaps Danieru was angry that he knew so much personal information.
“How did you know about that?” Danieru asked.
“I’ve wanted to work with your family company for a long time. But because of the Nine Dragons’ leader, everything has become very difficult.”
Danieru narrowed his eyes. He had just heard about Nine Dragons and was curious. Camilla, sitting next to him, was also curious. She was curious, and wanted the man named Cancri to explain everything about Nine Dragons, which seemed to be irritating him.
“Nine Dragons?” Danieru asked.
“I need to ask you something first. Would you like to work with me? I can help you take back all the rights your father and your half-brother have held.”
Danieru, hearing Cancri’s question, glanced at Camilla and saw her nod. Perhaps listening to Camilla was better, as he remembered that she had once planned to find someone who could help them.
“Three,” Cancri said.
Danieru stared at the man, needing to form his own words first.
“Two,” Cancri said again.
“Yes, I will work with you. Please explain what you know and how you can help me.” Danieru could see Cancri smiling; the man was also very strange in Danieru's eyes.
“Marcus, implant the chips in these two men,” Cancri said.
Marcus, who had been standing not far from Cancri, stepped forward. The man was carrying a small black suitcase, engraved with a snake's head.
“What are you doing? Don't you want to explain?” Danieru asked.
Cancri smiled. “That chip contains the data I want to explain, and it allows you to store the data you've read securely. And more importantly, it will monitor you. If you betray me, it will turn you into ashes.”
Danieru and Camilla couldn't resist; they were now in league with the man, and there was no escaping it.
"Is Grandpa being controlled like this?" Camilla asked. She remembered what Cancri had said some time ago.
"No, that old man is being controlled with a chip that's clearly just a slave chip."
Danieru remained silent, unwilling to speak further. Fighting back was pointless, especially when he saw about ten men dressed in black and with their faces covered by masks standing behind Cancri.
"After this, return to America immediately. I heard there's trouble at the Malaike company," Cancri said.
"Y-you... how do you know what we don't?" Danieru finally asked.
"My subordinates are monitoring your father," Cancri replied.
Marcus, who had been installing the chip, remained silent, not really paying attention to what Cancri was talking about.
