Chapter 86 Chapter Eighty-Six

Chapter 86 Chapter Eighty-Six
Chapter Eighty-Six

             Mirah

I recalled the dark patch I saw covering a part of the Source, and told them about it.

“Fuck.” Zeke cursed.

“What?” I asked with bated breath.

“Tyler isn't working alone. He has the Lumi behind him.” Kai said. My eyes went wide as saucers. I hadn't experienced the might of the so-called Lumi, but according to Queen Belinda's explanation, they were powerful.

And dangerous.

I faced Queen Belinda. “Did this happen in the past lifetimes? How did it end?”

She pursed her lips. “It didn't. And that leaves us with only one explanation.”

“Someone messed with time just as we did.”

The room went silent, and I subconsciously held my breath. This wasn't any good at all.

If someone had the ability to control time just like the See-brids, it showed how powerful they were.

“The Source mentioned a book, and said that only with it shall I hope to defeat the Lumi. What was it talking about?” I'd be lying if I said I wasn't confused by the way things were playing out.

I'd have been content to an extent, if the only enemies I had were my father and Jayden.

But this?

Nothing would have prepared me for this at all.

“It is not a book in the literal sense, but a weapon. And only the Controller can wield it. That means Tyler knows about it too.” Queen Belinda said worriedly.

Natasha spoke up. “If the Source is as powerful as you all say, how did Tyler get to control it? And don't forget the patch that Mirah saw.”

The frown on my face deepened.

“I think I'm going crazy,” I murmured.

“Let’s take things slowly. If we're really up against the Lumi, we have to be cautious, and make an impenetrable plan. Why don't we start by teaching Mirah the basics about the Dark realm? She's going to need it.” Qyle suggested.

And though I didn't like this one bit, I had to agree with him.

But fuck, I missed home.

“I’d take her to our room. We'll start training tomorrow.” Zeke said, rising to his feet and helping me up.

I sighed in relief, glad to escape even for a little while.

He led me down the bright hallway without a word.

“That was so-” I began saying once we were inside the room, but he suddenly pinned me against the nearby wall, and slammed his lips on mine.

I reciprocated, clutching his shirt, and grinding against him.

I moaned into his mouth as he cupped my ass and squeezed hard. He bit my lower lip enough to draw blood, and sucked on it.

His groan went straight to my core, making me wet with need. He broke the kiss, moving apart just enough to look into my eyes.

“Lord knows how hard it was to keep my hands away from you during the meeting.” His eyes were dark, evidence of his desires.

“Mate mm?” I arched my eyebrow, and his chest heaved.

“I’m sorry about that. It was unintentional, but I don't regret it one bit. I don't regret mating you.” He said in an emotion laden voice.

“But when did it happen?” I asked.

“Why don't I show you?” He asked mischievously.

My hand strayed down to brush against his erection.

“I don't mind.” I said softly with a wink.

“Fuck Kitten, you're going to be the death of me.” He said, his voice sounding tortured.

“Fuck me, Zeke.” I ordered.

“I quit,” I grunted, my arms feeling numb and sweat running down my back.

“Well, you don't exactly have a choice.” Natasha chuckled behind me as I slumped down to the ground.

“On the contrary, I do have a choice.” I panted, feeling tired than I'd ever been in a long time.

We were outside in an open field behind the dome-like palace, practicing on how to create a portal. It was the third day of training, and I was ready to give up. There was no way I'd be able to master the Source's powers in time for the final battle. And according to X and Queen Belinda, we were running out of time.

“It's not that hard, see?” She said. I followed her actions, closing my eyes and focusing on the place I wanted to transport to. My world suddenly became dark, and I panicked.

“I can't see!” I yelled, looking around for her. I didn't see Natasha nor the beautiful scenery that was behind us a moment ago.

Instead, I spotted a strand of purple flame, its flicker so faint that I suspected it'd die out soon enough.

“You are here, Mirabella,” Natasha called out reassuringly.

“But why can't I see anything?” I questioned, looking around again. The strand of purple flame was now within reach, floating gently in the air.

“Because you're within yourself. Do you see anything?” She asked calmly.

“Um, yes. A little strand of purple flame. It's about to burn out.” I replied.

”That's the power you summoned. Focus on increasing its brightness, and try creating a portal again.” I didn't understand what she was saying, but my body surprisingly followed her command.

I stared straight at the strand, twirling my index finger, and muttering the words she'd taught me.

“Don't I need a wand for this?” I'd watched some supernatural movies, and they usually made use of wands.

Natasha chuckled softly in response to my words. “See-brids don't use wands,” she said. “Is it working?” She added.

“Um, yes?” I almost smiled when the flame grew stronger, burning brightly until it illuminated all the darkness.

“Now, picture the place you want to go to within your mind.” She ordered.

A place came to mind, and I twirled my finger faster and faster.

Then I heard a door click open. I turned to the side, and sighed in relief.

“Did it work?” I called out to Natasha.

“You just created a portal. But there's only one way to find out if it truly worked. Why don't you take a tour and come back?” She suggested.

I walked through the door, my veins thrumming in excitement at the warm feeling that coursed through me.

The air swooshed with energy, and finally all was quiet. I didn't open my eyes immediately, afraid that it hadn't worked, and I was probably still at Gavemorth. But when I didn't hear Natasha's voice, I finally opened my eyes and chuckled. And that was because this was where I'd pictured in mind.

Vermont. My parents' house. In my room.
