Chapter 187 A WEIRD DEFINITION OF CUTE, AND MOWHAWK.

Chapter 187 A WEIRD DEFINITION OF CUTE, AND MOWHAWK.
AURORA’S POINT OF VIEW.
“A mowhawk?!” I shrieked, bolting from the chair, a nd running as far away from him as possible. The crazy heir stood before me, a deadpanned look on his face with those huge scissors in his hand. Okay, it is not so big, but as far as I'm concerned, it’s as huge as Everest!
“Aurora, be a good girl for me, and get your ass in that seat.” There was something about the way he said the words; good girl…I swear, I heard his voice drop slightly, his eyes darken, and his shoulders clench. I must be imagining things.
“No….I will not be anywhere near you or your stupid scissors…I spent months growing out my hair. If I look like some weird rock star who listens to heavy metal, I swear, I will shave your eyebrows in your sleep!” I threatened, but Kai only smirked, his eyes shining with that same gleam as he moved a bit closer to me.
“So what you’re saying is….you want to sleep with me.”
I nearly tripped over a mannequin, my heart pounding at the image spreading in my mind…him, and me….both of us naked between the sheets….no….what the hell is wrong with me?!.
I shook the thought from my mind before it would become something else, eyeing Kai as if he’d grown three heads in two seconds. My heart beat spiked. "What?! No! In what universe did you get 'I want to sleep with you' from 'I’m going to shave your eyebrows'?"
"You said 'while I sleep,'" he countered, leaning against the marble vanity with an infuriatingly relaxed posture I wanted to punch him for. The scissors glinted in his hand, making me swallow. The image of me, a Mohawk on my head….it could haunt me for life.
"Which implies you’ll be in my room. In my bed. Watching me sleep. That’s a very specific fantasy, Green. I didn't know you were such a creep."
"You are the most delusional, narcissistic, wart-covered ogre in existence!" I yelled, my face burning so hot I was surprised the sprinkler system didn't go off. I hated that his skin was so smooth; he barely had any blemishes on that handsome face. Out of all the horsemen, I always thought he looked best.
They were all handsome….but there was something about Kai’s face, body, and aura….and what’s worse? The guy knew he was every girl’s dream.
"And yet, you’re still standing there looking at me," he noted, his voice dropping an octave as he stood up straight. The playfulness didn't leave his eyes, but a layer of something thicker, something heavier, settled over the room. "Sit down, Aurora. I'm not going to give you a mohawk. I'm going to make you look like someone who doesn't have to hide anymore."
His voice dropped to a commanding tone that made it impossible for me to refuse. I looked at him, really looked at him. For all his teasing, Kai Mercer didn't do anything halfway. If he said he was going to make me a Mercer masterpiece, I knew he meant it.
"If I look like a lawnmower ran over my head when you’re done, I am going to get you registered in a convent as a possessed ex-priest," I threatened one last time, slowly trudging back to the chair. The thought of revenge was enough to make me tie myself to the chair.
"Deal," he chuckled, pushing me down into the seat.

Hours later, we were headed to the club. When Kai commanded me to open my eyes, I was left stunned at the sight of the person before me. Like the annoying oaf he is, he didn't let me open my eyes until we got to picking the dress. The first thing I saw was the hair.
One thing Morgan always did was make sure I hated my black hair as much as possible. Everyone loved Morgan for many reasons, but one that stood out was her hair. It was a bob, but it was, according to them, the perfect shade of blonde. One time, we were at a launch party for dad, and a woman remarked;
‘Look at Morgan! Such beautiful blonde hair….unlike that other one with a mess of goo on her head. Seriously, her mother should consider shaving it off.’ I remembered her laugh when she said it, and how utterlyd ejected I felt. My mother and I shared the same physical features, and one thing I’d been most proud of was her hair.
It was just like mine. When the cancer ate too deeply into her, all her hair fell off. So I swore to myself that I would never dye my hair, shave my hair, or do anything drastic to my hair until she got hers back.
So when Kai offered to cut it, I got terrified. I thought he would either dye it or make me cut it short….I thought I would have to betray my mother, something I already did by talking to my father, let alone meeting him. However, when I opened my eyes, meeting the same black hair on my head….it sent my heart into overdrive.
I turned to him, meeting those intense orbs staring into me. I swallowed, “How did you know?”
“There's nothing I do not know about you, green.” He'd replied, and I felt the nudge to push further, to ask what he meant. But he did not give them the chance to. “Do you like it?” Now, I saw something else in those eyes.
He seemed… taut, as if he needed my next words to be positive. I turned to stare at myself again. It was a new look, and I loved every part of it. He’d barely cut my hair. Matter of fact, I could not see evidence of a big chop.
But it still made a difference. My face appeared more youthful. “I love it.” I breathed with a smile, picturing my mother’s gaze when she sees it… when he wakes from her coma.
