Chapter 186 IT'S TIME FOR A MAKEOVER!
AURORA’S POINT OF VIEW.
“I assure you, sir. I am most resourceful.” Kai glanced at her once, his eyes taking her in as if she were some cockroach under his shoes.
“What the hell….where am I supposed to get a hair stylist? Should I pull him out of my ass?” he mocked her, bringing an abrupt laugh from me. They both turned to me at the sound of it, but I turned away, whistling like I did nothing.
Ashley appeared stunned, as if she were shocked anyone would reject her. I was more shocked someone that someone who looked her age would ever dare act like that with her boss. Kai was nineteen, and while he was notorious for also sleeping with some of the female teachers, I never thought he would get approached like this before me.
“w-W-Well, no, sir. But I can help….in many other ways, “ she winked. Again, the courage of this woman, you would swear her boss and co-workers were not in the room with us. They all glanced at her as if she’d grown ten heads as I did.
"Ashley, was it?" he asked, his voice a low, terrifying hum; his glare only on her hand still caressing his arm. "If you don't remove your hand in the next three seconds, I won't just blacklist you. I'll make sure the only place you can find a job is cleaning the toilets at the bus station."
She pulled back so fast she nearly tripped over her own heels. I couldn't help it, I let out a snort again, this one even louder and unashamed.
“You dare touch me in front of my fiancé?” he hissed, and for some reason, I loved the look of fright on her face as he advanced, his back muscled flexing in his shirt. “You’re fired. Pack your shit and get the hell out of my building.”
“S-s-sir, please. I swear, it will never happen again! Miss, please, help me plead with him.” She screeched, but the two hefty security men at the door already pulled her out. Just as she was being dragged out, her pleas stopped, and she turned to me. She shot me a look so sour, I swear, it could make milk curdy with a glance, but I just smoothed my dark hair and gave her a wink, waving as she went out of vision.
"Problem solved," I muttered. "I don't need Jean anyway. My hair is fine."
"Your hair is a disaster, Green," Kai countered, turning back to me. The stone-cold businessman was gone, replaced by the infuriating, teasing ogre I’d grown to... tolerate….not like….never like….I swear…I do not like him…I hate him. "But if Jean isn't here, I suppose I'll have to improvise."
My eyes turned to pans….not saucers….pans. My crazy fake fiancé grabbed a pair of scissors, I worried where he even found them, and snipped them before me.
“I’ll do the cutting.”
“No.” I moved back, not stopping even as he advanced, that same evil smirk on his lips. “Kai….why are you torturing me like this?”
“Sit down, and stop whining, green.” He chuckled, and one of the attendants pulled out a chair. “Unless you would rather show up at Sloane’s party looking like someone Morgan can insult again. Don’t you want her, Tobi, and everyone else to choke?”
“Well yeah….but my hair…” I sobbed dramatically.
” Oh, don't be such a baby. I promise I won’t cut it all off….just a cute mowhawk.”
