Chapter 48 Let Me Give It a Try
Since Dr. Rashid wanted to terminate the surgery, there was no hope at all.
Bryan appeared calm on the surface, but Elena accidentally saw him clenching his fist.
"Keep performing the surgery, give him whatever he wants," Bryan said calmly. He refused to give up any shred of hope.
The doctor said, "Mr. Richter, Dr. Rashid means that he is unable to treat her."
"No, Grandma can't have any issues." Bella grabbed the doctor's arm, her eyes swollen from crying, and said, "Think of any solution, please?"
"Yes, doctor! We have money, you can make any demands, as long as you cure Daisy."
Everyone pleaded with the doctor.
But the doctor could only shake his head helplessly.
If Dr. Rashid wanted to terminate the surgery, then there really was no way...
"I'll give it a try."
Suddenly, a voice came from the corner, and everyone subconsciously looked over.
Elena walked over calmly, her sneakers silently rubbing against the floor, making no sound.
"Who is this?"
"How come I've never seen her before?"
"She looks so young."
Some people didn't recognize Elena.
"Elena, have you gone crazy? What abilities do you have to try?" Bella looked at Elena in astonishment.
Elena calmly looked at Bryan and said, "Mr. Richter, I can try to save Daisy."
She only needed Bryan's permission, and she didn't care about others' opinions.
And if it weren't for Daisy's kindness towards her in the past, she wouldn't have appeared in the hospital today.
"Bryan, you can't let her treat Grandma. How could she possibly cure her? Elena just wants to seek revenge on us," Bella said angrily.
"So she's your ex-wife." It was only when they heard Elena's name that everyone remembered who she was.
"Yeah, Bryan, you can't entrust Grandma's life to this woman."
Quint Richter stepped forward and pretended to persuade.
"How confident are you?" Bryan ignored the others and asked Elena directly.
Elena honestly said, "I'm not confident, but I will do my best."
She didn't like making promises to others, as it would put pressure on herself.
"No one with such uncertainty would dare to claim they are saving lives. Bryan, I think your ex-wife is here to extort you," Quint began speculating wildly about Elena's motives.
"I don't want money," Elena said, meeting Quint's gaze calmly.
She disliked being misunderstood by others.
Not everyone was like Bryan.
Although Bryan didn't like her, he would never maliciously speculate about her intentions like this person.
"You don't want money? Then you must want to remarry Bryan!"
"Quint, shut up!" Bryan was extremely impatient.
"All of you, shut up!" Bryan said to everyone.
His icy tone made everyone slightly fearful.
Immediately, everyone fell silent.
"Go, don't carry any burdens in your heart! I'll be by your side," Bryan said firmly.
His final words shocked Elena.
"Do you believe me?" Elena asked him incredulously, suddenly feeling touched. Bryan actually chose to believe her?
"Just focus on what you need to do, and let me know if you need anything," Bryan reassured her.
And so, Elena turned and headed toward the operating room.
"Bryan, if anything happens to Grandma, we won't forgive you," Quint said.
"Bryan, this decision of yours is too hasty. Clearly, that woman doesn't know anything. How could you agree to let her operate on Daisy?"
"Yes, even if we are in a hurry, we can't just randomly find someone to perform the surgery," added another person.
Before Elena entered the operating room, she faintly heard everyone accusing Bryan.
Elena tied her hair up high and put on surgical clothes, then proceeded to disinfect.
"Let me do it," she said simply, leaving Rashid stunned.
When he saw Elena, he was even more surprised. He impolitely said, "Mr. Richter has gone mad? How can he let a young girl perform the surgery?"
"Stupid," Elena coldly replied.
"You..." Rashid couldn't believe that this seemingly fragile young girl would dare to insult him.
"Continue the surgery," Elena briskly walked over to the operating table.
Rashid shook his head, thinking, 'The girl is too young, always trying to be strong.'
"Open all the cameras," Rashid instructed his assistant beside him.
If Daisy's life is in danger during the surgery, with the help of these cameras he can clear himself of any responsibility in a timely manner.
Elena carefully identified the location of the tumor, which indeed was as they had described, almost next to the most important blood vessel. If she wasn't careful during the operation, it could lead to vessel rupture and Daisy would be at risk of losing her life.
Elena calmly said, "Pass me the drill."
As time ticked away, sweat formed a thin layer on Elena's forehead. However, she seemed unaware, continuing to focus on the surgery.
"Bryan, prepare to translate the article according to my requirements," the editor said, looking expectantly at the American expert in Chinese to English translation and bestselling author of American novels.
The nurse was nervously watching nearby when a deep voice came through the earpiece. The nurse paused for a moment, then realized that the voice coming through the earpiece was Mr. Richter's.
In another room, Bryan focused on watching the camera's feed. Elena's hands were covered in blood, which dripped onto her surgical gown, making it look bloody and horrifying. Yet, she continued to skillfully perform each step.
Bryan was extremely nervous as he followed Elena's surgical movements.
Even though he did not understand medicine, he could tell that Elena's technique was professional.
How much skill was Elena hiding? How many more skills did she have that he didn't know about?
"Bryan, prepare 1000cc of type O blood in one minute," Elena's voice came through the camera.
Bryan quickly instructed someone to prepare it.
One minute later, a nurse rushed out in a panic, saying, "We hit a blood vessel during the surgery and urgently need type O blood."
"I knew she was an inept doctor. Now something unexpected has happened! Bryan, do you really want Grandma to leave us?" Quint pushed open the door to the control room. Although his expression appeared serious, his voice revealed some satisfaction.
Since childhood, Bryan had always been more outstanding than him. They were both descendants of the Richter family, but Bryan received more attention.
Today, he would witness Bryan make a mistake.
If Grandma truly died on the operating table this time, Bryan would be responsible for all the faults. Bryan would be the Richter family's sinner.
Thinking of this, Quint's mood relaxed.
Bryan gave him a cold glance but remained silent.
Clearly, he did not want to speak to Quint.
"Bryan, quickly bring that woman out! My doctors have arrived, and I will allow them in now," Quint crossed his arms and leaned against the door, arrogantly saying.
