Chapter 45 Elena Takes Action
The next day, the sun was shining and the weather was clear.
On the golf course, Marshall wore a topee and held a golf club, looking displeased.
"Mr. Winston, Elena severed our source of funding, forcing us to personally seek investors. Isn't she going too far?" Ethen Colt, who had once worked alongside Marshall, frowned and complained.
They had been working at the Winston Group for a long time. Now Elena was making them personally negotiate investments?
Wouldn't everyone laugh at them if this news got out?
"Alright, stop complaining. Just wait until I take her shares away. Then the entire Winston Group will still be mine," Marshall said, although he felt something was off in his actions these past few days.
However, he wasn't worried because his shrewd brother was already dead. He didn't believe a woman like Elena could achieve much.
Ethen nodded obediently, swallowing his grievances. "I'll do as you say, Mr. Winston."
"The investors are here," Marshall said solemnly, placing the club aside and welcoming them with a smile.
"Mr. Mark, long time no see."
"Mr. Winston, do you also enjoy playing golf?" Willie Mark reached out his hand to greet Marshall.
Marshall nodded and said, "I play golf during my leisure time to relax."
Only people from the upper class enjoyed these things.
"Mr. Winston, regarding the investment you mentioned..." After putting the ball in the hole, Willie retrieved his club. Then, he and Marshall sat down on nearby chairs and went straight to the point.
Marshall gestured for Ethen to bring the documents and samples of glasses.
It was still the Sunya brand. Marshall had been responsible for this project all along. This time, he wanted to expand the scale of the project. He planned to invest several million dollars to mass-produce the products and sell them at a high price.
Marshall had already calculated that this project would generate at least 20 million dollars.
Sunya's popularity was already quite high, so Marshall wanted to mass-produce it. However, he currently lacked the funds and wanted Willie's support.
Marshall's legs were together and his expression remained calm. After all, the Winston Group was considered a big company, so he didn't need to grovel.
Willie thought for a few seconds and said, "Let me think about it."
He stared at the document for a few minutes and found no major issues, except that he didn't have much knowledge about the eyewear industry.
"The Winston Group has been in this industry for so many years. Can't you trust me?"
Marshall laughed, "We are old friends. Can I still deceive you?"
Willie nodded, "Is this project established in the name of the Winston Group?"
"Of course. As long as you sign this document, we can start the project immediately."
Just as Marshall finished speaking...
"As long as you sign this document, you will lose every penny."
A contemptuous voice came from a distance.
Elena squinted her eyes, blocking the sunlight with her hand, and walked over.
She threw the ipad on the table and said, "Mr. Mark, take a look at this before you sign."
"Who is this?" Willie asked curiously as he took the ipad.
Seeing Elena, Marshall's face instantly turned sour.
"Elena, stop messing around. I am in the middle of a business negotiation."
Marshall reprimanded. He felt that his niece was becoming more and more ignorant. She didn't understand how to do business but kept interfering.
"Marshall, I'm just worried that your business won't go well." Elena shrugged her shoulders, pretending to be innocent.
Willie looked at the negative reviews on the webpage, and his face gradually turned pale.
Initially, many people bought the Sunya brand, but after a few days, either the lenses broke or the frames were damaged. The glasses had serious quality issues, and more importantly, the after-sales service was poor.
A luxury brand actually had so many problems. Now this brand has received many negative reviews.
"Mr. Winston, these glasses are simply impossible to produce."
Willie frowned, and his expression turned cold.
"Mr. Mark, don't be impulsive. This project can be done. This lady is my niece. She doesn't understand these things, so don't let her influence you."
Marshall didn't know what Willie saw, but he knew that he must first secure this investment.
"Marshall looked at Elena sternly and said, 'Elena, quickly explain the origin of this situation to Mr. Mark. It's one thing for you to be wilful in your personal life, but I can't let you mess around in business.' Elena blinked her eyes and smiled.
'Mr. Mark, the Sunya project cannot proceed. The market response has been very poor. If you continue, not only will this batch of goods remain unsold, but it will also tarnish the reputation of the Winston Group.'
'Nonsense! These glasses are selling so well right now, and if we mass produce them, they will be highly popular. Elena, you're a newcomer in the workplace, so you don't understand any of this. Go back to the company immediately,' Marshall retorted, slapping the table.
Elena thought Marshall was just getting irritated. She chuckled and turned her head to look at Willie beside her.
'Mr. Mark, if you want to lose every penny, then you can continue investing in this project.'
Saying this, Elena took out the list of complaints from customers over the past two days. 'Within three days, we received five hundred complaints. If I hadn't hidden the truth, Sunya would have been infamous by now.'
This data was quite astounding. Willie patted his chest, relieved that he hadn't signed any contract. This was clearly a project that would only lose money.
'I won't sign this contract,' Willie quickly shook his head.
'Mr. Mark, you...'
'Mr. Winston, you don't need to get close to me either. You clearly want to drag me into a pit,' Willie understood too. He angrily grabbed his briefcase and said, 'You don't need to look for me anymore. A small company like mine cannot reach the level of the Winston Group.'
After saying this, Willie stormed off.
Marshall stared at Elena with anger, his inexperienced niece. 'Elena, do you know what you just did? You drove away the investor and severed the cooperation with the Winston Group. Are you trying to embarrass me?'
Elena didn't want to explain any further. She felt that Marshall was just too foolish. She couldn't save him.
'How much is your face worth?' Elena mockingly asked.
'What did you say? Elena, your temper has grown worse in these few years.'
Marshall didn't expect Elena to dare to argue with him.
'You have no foresight at all. If you continue with this project, 20 million dollars won't be enough for your losses. Marshall, if it's really not working out, I can enroll you in a business course to start over,' Elena sneered."
Elena said indifferently, "You..."
Marshall's eyes went dark at her words and he collapsed heavily onto the chair.
"Marshall, if you're not feeling well, you should apply for retirement. You should go home and take care of yourself. Don't push yourself," Elena said mockingly.
