Chapter 128
I grabbed a rag and wet it. Did you know cleaning sour cream out of someone’s hair is hard while you are laughing? It took a while for everyone to calm down and to get it cleaned up. We all sat back down, and the twins were still giggling at their dad. Link was the first to speak, “You are going to smell like sour cream now.” That was all he had to say, and he went back to eating. 
“Yeah, I will have to shower after we eat, my bad,” he says while laughing. 
“I will help with after-dinner clean up so you can, son. I love helping with bathtime and bedtime. I love reading to them.” Harry says with a huge grin. He always comes over to read to them and play on the floor with them. 
“Thanks, Dad. I am sure they will love playing with you guys. Link said he would help clean up earlier, so it will only take a little while with help. I was going to help, but now I need to clean my hair.” Kane answers; I know he loves helping. I think he misses his kids being little. 
“I can do the kitchen alone, Dad, I am big enough. I have been doing it sometimes to help. I told Kane I wanted to clean up every night because I don’t know how to cook. Liv always keeps stuff I can make myself in the fridge and freezer with my name on it. Most things just need a microwave. She also made stuff that fits in the toaster oven because I know how to do that, too, after she showed me, anyway. She said she will teach me how to cook the things I like, so I know how to make them when I live alone. She also said that when I get bigger, I can live in one of the apartments above the garage. I told them maybe after college.” He says, not knowing they already know all of this because we told them what he was saying. They are going to want to help him with his first apartment, and I think it will make them feel better being next to my dad. 
The dogs ran into the kitchen, lying under the twins, eating what they dropped on the floor. They do this every time the kids eat. They normally stay outside because they love it out there, while they do sleep in the bedroom with them. “We know, sweetheart, we are already working on the apartment to make it work for you. We figured it could be your getaway when you are too stressed for now. We know you are staying close by for school, and we thought we would make a study for you. We will make it all work, we promise.” Yolanda says. 
Link lights up and nods. He loves it when he has safe spaces. “Well, let’s eat,” Harry said before he dug into his plate of food. 
I didn’t talk much during dinner; I was thinking about my dad. He needs to stop chasing my mother before he ends up getting hurt. She knows some dangerous people. I don’t know how she met them, but she did, and now they help her. I am a robot for the rest of the night until we all go to bed. His parents stayed the night here because his mom was still at the B&B, and we didn’t want them to drive home late. Plus, we love having everyone here. I love a noisy house; it comforts me. I look at Kane, and he just holds me because he knows what I am worried about. He has been trying to convince my dad to come home all day. My dad is stubborn; he thinks he can solve this on his own, but I know he can’t. We need to do this as a family. “Everything will be ok, baby, my dad is going to call him tomorrow and try. He thinks he will be able to relate to him better.” I smiled at him because he always knows what is wrong without me saying anything. He watches my moods and works to help me. 
“I know, baby. He just needs to understand that I don’t want to lose him. I just got him. The twins won’t get time with him if something happens. It worries me so much, I don’t know what to do with him putting himself in danger when we have people on it already.” I respond, pulling away and guiding him to the bed because standing and snuggling is hard; he is so tall that I feel like he must bend so much to comfort me. 
He climbs in after I do because I just climbed on his side of the bed to get to mine. We checked the twins before coming back to the room. “I know, sweetheart, I am trying too. I hope my dad can help get him back home. Let’s lie down and watch something. Kendra and Mom will be late tonight. Dad is sleeping near the twins so he can have extra time with them tonight. So, we have the night for ourselves.” When he smiles, it gives me butterflies. I can’t wait to hold him. 
He pulled me close after grabbing the remote. We hear a knock on our door. We know it has nothing to do with the twins; the baby monitor is quiet. “Come in?” I said it as a question because I thought everyone was asleep. 
My dad walked in with Harry. “Harry called me and told me I was acting like a fool. He was right; I should have listened to you. I’m sorry, Liv.” My dad says, walking over to hug us both. “I am going to sleep in the room near the twins to help Harry tonight. I can’t wait to hold them. Your mom got away anyway. I think they left the country today anyway. Harry is going to have someone check into it. I think they didn’t like how close we were getting. I hope they have given up.”  
“I am glad you’re home, Dad. I hope they do too. Knowing my mother, she will be back. I don’t know if Steve will be, but that’s on him. I don’t know, I hope she stays away and has learned her lesson because she ran for a reason, and I don’t think it was us. Go get something to eat from the kitchen and get to bed, Dad. You look like you have been through hell.” I say laughing because he is covered in dust. He must have taken his bike instead of his truck. He hasn’t shaved in a few days and looks a little gruff. He nods, hugs us again, and walks out of the room with Harry behind him. 
“So, I guess my dad couldn’t wait until tomorrow to call him. I guess I should have asked Dad again before going to bed. Now, let’s start our night.” He pulls me close again and puts Iron Man on. I fell asleep before the movie ended
