Chapter 121

Chapter 121
The night went wonderful; we talked and laughed until 8pm. My Dad took a picture with me and Kane saying he needed to mark the first Thanksgiving he had with us. We took a group picture as well. The staff had dinner for themselves. We bought food for them to cook so they could eat as well. They used the B&B kitchen and ate it in the breakroom. It ended up snowing for the first time this year when we were eating pie in the living room. I decided to walk to the front porch to take a picture of the B&B for the website. Kane of course was following me with his hands on my back making sure I was safe. I would tell him to calm down, and I am in the house, but I know he will not listen to me. The pictures of the B&B and other parts of the property I could see from our front porch. I had to zoom in, but they came out just as clearly as if I was right there. I love the camera Kane got me as a gift so I could take pictures anytime I want. It was the perfect day, we video chatted with Yaz and Joseph, they couldn’t believe how big I was. Everyone stayed here tonight because of the snow; the news said it was slushy and to stay put if possible. Kendra helped Yolanda set up rooms for her and Harry. Selena decided to stay in the room with Kendra to spend time with her.
It is December 6th and my water breaks in the middle of the night. Kane figured it out because well he got wet too. He pushed the button on our phones to send an alert to the doctor, his parents, his siblings, and my dad. It was a program I created it It is going to be a long night. Kane started the water so we could both shower off after the doctor said it would be fine if I wasn’t alone. We cleaned up quickly even though it hurt badly. The contractions were hell, but we made it to the room they set up for delivery. When the doctor got there, she gave me an epidural, she said it would help and keep me calm. They are worried about my blood pressure going too high. She brought a whole team just in case I need a c-section. They literally turned one of our rooms into a makeshift OR. We plan on keeping locked here so we have a place to help people if it is an emergency that can’t wait for an ambulance. With horses around you never know what will happen; we have doctors and surgeons on call to help through trusted hospitals that Yolanda investigated.
It took 10 hours before they were born, 11:20pm for Xavier and 11:28 for Sasha. Xavier was 6lbs 5oz, and Sasha was 6lbs even. I ended up delivering normally so that was a good thing, but I was so tired and sore. They put both babies on my chest after cleaning them up and then started cleaning me up so we could move to our room instead of being stuck in here. Everything went the way it was supposed to, so they don’t think I will need to use this room anymore. I will be here for another 2 hours to make sure I don’t bleed again but after that Kane will take me to our room while his parents take the babies. When we finally got to our room, I was exhausted, so I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow while Kane and our family spent time with the babies.
I woke up to Kane holding both babies next to me on the bed. It looked like they were getting fussy, so Kane helped me get set up to feed the babies one at a time. It did not feel pretty, but it will be worth it for my babies. “How are you feeling beautiful? You did amazing.” Kane says while I lay my head on his shoulder.
“I feel sore but ok. How long was I asleep?” I asked him because it doesn’t seem like it was that long.
“You slept for about 3 hours. So, you didn’t sleep that long, but you took a good little nap. Mom had dad go get some formula to help when they get super fussy. She knows you want to breastfeed, but she wanted us to have a backup plan.” Kane says, and he takes Xavier putting Sasha in my arms. I can’t help but smile, looking at Kane holding our babies.
“Well, that was nice of her. So far it seems like breastfeeding is going well.” I look down at Sasha who is already falling asleep but still eating. She must have been awake for a while. “I didn’t think I slept much but I am sure after I can pump your mom will help a bunch so we can sleep some here and there.” I tell Kane as he lays a sleeping Xavier in his Boppy pillow that is on the bed between our legs. We found one that works for twins so Sasha can sleep next to her brother.
