Chapter 122

Chapter 122
“They do not like to be apart. Mom walked out of the room with Sasha in her arms to get her drink, and they both started crying. I had to follow her. It was so adorable. Dad came up with a small bed thing that goes up against the bed, so the babies will be right next to you for now. We will set it up in a little bit. Kendra made something to eat for all of us. She went with biscuits, sausage, gravy, and eggs. It just got done a little bit ago; she started it all about an hour ago. Would you like a plate now that you fed the babies? Your dad has been dying to check on you for a while now. He is worried about his little girl, as he puts it.” Kane says, laughing while grabbing Sasha to lie with her brother. They didn’t eat a lot this time, but the doctor told us before that they wouldn’t and just let them eat the amount they wanted.
“Oh, I am so glad he found one. I know we looked for a good one for months, and they were all sold out. That sounds so good, would you mind getting me a plate while the babies are asleep?” I ask, smiling at our sleeping bundles on the bed. They are holding hands it is so adorable.
“Yes, I will do that right now. Your dad will probably come in as soon as I go out. Would you like help to the bathroom or anything before I go?” He asks me.
“Yes please.” I respond and slowly start moving to the edge of the bed. I would like to wash my face and brush my hair too but one step at a time, I guess.
He helps me up and I notice he changed me into his sweatpants and his t-shirt. He always does that when he changes me. I end up in his clothes, not my pajamas. I giggle and he knows what I am laughing at because I point to my outfit, and he just shrugs like it’s nothing, and he is right it is nothing. He puts his arm around me to support me because my legs smell like jelly. He smells like baby powder, and I am guessing he had fun washing the babies up on the bed and putting lotion on them. We talked about it; he just used a rag on them, not a full sponge bath. We decided to give them a sponge bath together tonight. “I will get you a warm rag to clean up with and mom put the pads from the doctor on your little shelf; we put your other ones in the cabinet for now. She also got you a few new candles that smell like lavender to light to help the babies sleep. The lady at the shop told her they would help, we don’t know if it will, but she figured it would at least smell good.” Kane says as we reach the bathroom.
“Oh, that was nice of her. She didn’t have to; I would have put that stuff away.” I say blushing a little because his mom is so nice compared to what I am used to. My mom didn’t even buy me my first thing of pads because she said she didn’t have time for me. She wouldn’t even give me one of hers to last until I got back from the store. I had to use toilet paper and then use the bathroom at the store to change. It was stupid, what kind of mother decides not to help her daughter who has no idea what to do. If it wasn’t for the whole sex ed in school thing I probably would have never learned about any of it. Don’t get me wrong; it didn’t make it any less confusing or any less embarrassing.
“Oh, she didn’t mind, she even set up stuff for a shower for you. She wanted everything to be ready for you so that when you are ready, you could take a shower. She said she remembers how tired she was with us and they plan on helping a lot, so we aren’t too tired to take care of the babies. She said she has the laundry and everything else under control while Kendra handles food, and my dad plans to run and get anything we need from the stores. Link plans on bringing diapers when we run out and anything else we need. He had already taken laundry to the laundry room when Xavier peed on everything earlier. Link couldn’t stop laughing. He was so worried that he was going to wake you up, so he ran out of the room with dirty clothes and blankets in a basket.” Kane tells me while helping me sit down on the toilet and walking to the cabinet to get a rag so I can wash my face and clean up some.
He grabs two rags, one for my face and arms, and one for the rest of me. I will shower a little later when my legs feel stronger. “Well, that is nice of them. Link will be very helpful. My dad has been sitting outside of our bedroom door this whole time, hasn’t he?” I asked him while brushing my hair with the hairbrush he handed me.
“Yes, he is waiting for you to wake up. He can’t wait to check on you. He has been so worried about you because by the time we got you in here, he had only gotten to see you for a little bit in the other room. Plus, I think he read too many articles about what could happen in labor if something goes wrong. He said he wasn’t going anywhere until he knew you were okay, and nothing was going to happen to you. I told him it was a bad idea to read all of those and to talk to the doctor to ask his questions.” Kane answered as he handed me a rag, and I put my brush back on the counter.
