Chapter 116

Chapter 116
“So, what will you do with your day’s Liv?” Yolonda asked as she was eating her spinach dip with sliced bread.
“I am not sure; I guess I will get a lot of writing done. I also plan on making blankets. I bought quilt squares, one for a boy and one for a girl. I didn’t know I was having twins when I ordered the stuff, so I got lucky.” I respond laughing.
“That is funny. I guess it is a good thing that it worked out, or you would have fabric you couldn’t use. We will get you some more fabric so you have things to do if you would like. I have a few fabrics that would be perfect for backing. I can’t wait to meet them.” Selena said who was sitting next to Yolanda with a plate of snacks from the table.
Kane walked up with a plate with pickles, olives, spinach, dip with bread, and some fruit salad. He also added broccoli with ranch on another plate; I guess he ran out of room. Link pulled my little table closer so I can reach the food better because this belly makes moving hard. “Here love, I put a little bit of everything you have been craving all day on the plate. I am going to grab a plate and come sit with you, be right back.” Kane said, kissing my head before walking off after setting the plates down and pulling the table over the arm of the chair to make things easier. The wheel got stuck, and Link couldn’t get the wheel unstuck, so Kane ended up having to move it.
I love these people they take care of each other like family should. No manipulations, no abuse, and no ultimatums. “Thank you, baby,” I tell him as he walks off. I am so excited, I am always hungry now. I can’t believe how hungry I am all the time. I didn’t think it was possible.
Link sat next to my chair on the floor with his own plate; he always sits by me. His therapist said it's hard for him to understand and all he kept in his head was protecting the babies. He also said Link looked up what could happen during labor, and it scared him, so he wants to keep us safe. Link sleeps here most of the week, and his parents don’t mind; they say when Link sleeps at home, he doesn’t sleep well, getting up and down all-night pacing. “This is good Kendra.” Links says out of the blue while eating the mozzarella sticks, she made for him.
“I am glad you like them; they are homemade, not the store-bought ones. Liv taught me how to make them. She said this is the recipe you loved that she figured out how to make for you, so the texture is just right for you.” Kendra tells him.
“I thought so. I am glad you learned how to make them too now that Liv isn’t allowed to cook. Maybe she could tell you how to make those mashed potatoes that she made last week. I hate mashed potatoes, but she did something to them and I tried them when she asked. I loved them. I think it is in her recipe book on the counter.” Link says not understanding what he said wasn’t nice.
“I will learn all the recipes you would like. I know she has a section just for you in her cookbook. After you say you like it, she moves it to a section that is just for you. With you switching us switching to homeschooling because of everything going on I am sure we will have more time.” Kendra said while Link nodded.
Yolanda and Harry decided with my mother poking around and Tina she felt safer with the kids being here during all of this. They have had to travel a lot for business lately due to someone messing with their businesses and they haven’t figured out who yet because it wasn’t anything to crazy just enough to make them required to go check it out personally. The teacher will come once a week to go check work and go over anything they have questions about so they can answer any questions they couldn’t finish without help. They will come every Friday and use the library we have here, so I have a quiet place to work when I write. We set up a table big enough for them with 4 chairs. It has plug ins built in and one on the floor for the table to connect to. I still have my chair and stuff near the window, Kane just moved a few shelves around to make room, and it isn’t crowded. Kane put the books I wrote in our closet so he could take one of the shelves out. I told him it was stupid he wanted to keep one because I have the original and he laughed and said nope he bought all of them from the bookstore after they hit the stores and had me put my signature on the title page. He doesn’t read them, but he supports me. I don’t blame him for not reading it because romance isn’t his style. Kendra and Link are happy to be here with us. Kendra gets lessons on cooking, plus she can take online college courses while doing her regular work. She loves to stay busy. Link wants to be here with me and has a hard time at school right now; he hears things about the people messing with us, and it is stressing him out. His aid and therapist agreed to come here to him, so he doesn’t have to be so stressed out. All of this is a mess, but with our security we have nothing has gotten through.
I shake my head and get back to eating. I do a little dance when Harry brings me some little smokies and BBQ sauce. Harry laughs and goes to sit next to Yolanda with his own plate. “They just got done; I told Kane I would bring them to you while he gets food for himself.” He tells me.
“Thank you, does anyone know where my dad is? He should be here already.” I said, because I'm getting worried. He went to the store for something that I wasn’t allowed to know why.
