CHAPTER 151 WELCOME TO THE O’BRIENS' HOME, AZEEZAT
Titus approached her and sat down. They were both uncomfortable, but they did not really have a choice but to spend the evening together. Because of the music, if they banged on the attic door, no one would hear.
“Who wants to party?” Jade yelled as she ran down the stairs. The crowds cheered as the music became louder. Now that she has rid herself of Selena, she will have the night to herself. She did exactly what she had planned by using Titus as bait.
Selena opened her eyes to find Titus sleeping beside her. She gasped and jerked herself straight up. How did she manage to get there? And with him? She wondered. She remembered last night. They both had a drink. They were drinking from the same bottle, passing it back and forth. They both had a conversation along the way. Selena scratched her head, trying to remember what it was. Titus’ words suddenly began to echo in her head.
She had said this while drinking a large gulp of gin. It burned her throat. “I still have so many things to tell you. I still have a lot of questions.”
But Titus interrupted. “Would you have invited me to this party if Jade had not invited me? Be honest.”
“No.” Selena shook her head. “No. I wouldn’t. Titus, you, and I fought. It is only fair that I drive you away from me so that both of us can recover from our wounds.”
Titus gave her an expression that read, “I can’t heal because you are the first girl I have ever loved.” He took the gin from Selena and placed it back in his mouth. “I apologize for not realizing how much my present would hurt you. I’m sorry for everything.”
“Titus. You...”
He abruptly cut her off. “However, I have a question for you. Do you still love Tyler?”
“Titus, we are no longer mates. Didn’t you accept my rejection? You don’t have to know what is going on in my heart.” She could not admit to him that she was thinking about him. What if Jade is right? What if she was not in love with the Titus he created, but with the Titus she had always known? Alpha Titus. Yes, he had hurt her, but her feelings for him are so strong that she believes she cannot walk away.
“I only have one more thing to say. Do you think there is a 1% chance we will get back together? If not, I will leave you alone and never mention these words again. I promise, Selena. You are not required to respond immediately. You are free to take your time.”
Selena took the bottle from him and drank out of it. She was getting slightly tipsy. She got up and went in search of more bottles. Three bottles of gin were finished in a matter of minutes. They drank until they passed out. She had no idea how they had ended up on the floor when she awoke right next to him.
Selena shook her head, hoping to clear her mind of the uncomfortable thoughts. Jade will be dead by the time she finds her. She stretched her body before returning her gaze to Titus. She kept staring at Titus’ face while he slept. Is there even a 1% chance they will fall in love again?
Her gaze shifted to the door, which was already open. Selena gently shook Titus’ hand. “Wake up. You need to go home,” she said. Titus blinked open his eyes and looked at Selena. Her red hair made her even more attractive. “Titus. I think it is already morning. Are you sober already?”
Titus realized he had been staring for an inordinate amount of time. This is the first time he has slept soundly and without anxiety since the mating ceremony incident. He straightened up and gave a nod. “Yeah. I should go.” What was running through her mind? He pondered. Is she hating him more now that he showed up? He removed his jacket from his chair and put it on. He turned to face her and all of a sudden remembered the shambles he had created the night before. Titus exhaled deeply. He felt ashamed. How could he say those things to her knowing they were over for good? “What about last night... I...” He stuttered.
“You said you would give me more time.” Selena hid her smile. “We should head downstairs.” She made her way to the front door, carrying the bottles down the wooden stairs. Titus followed behind. She said her goodbyes to Titus and watched him walk out the door before heading into the kitchen to dispose of what she was holding. When Selena heard noises, she was frightened. As she entered the inner kitchen, she held one of the bottles. She screamed when she saw a woman. When the woman saw Selena, she screamed as well. They both came to a stop as they realized how awkward the situation was. “Who are you, and why are you in my home? Are you from the party?” Selena’s eyes jerked around. “Oh, shit. You are making breakfast for yourself?”
The woman chuckled quietly. “You must be Miss Selena, given your demeanor and fiery red hair.”
She knows her name. “So who exactly are you? What are you doing in the kitchen?”
“My name is Azeezat. The new maid sent by the agency.”
“My mother mentioned something about it, and we had expected you yesterday.”
“Of course, she was here yesterday.” Jade’s voice was audible as she opened the kitchen door and entered. She leaned against the wall, arms folded across her chest. She let go of her grip and bit into the apple she was holding. “How could you have known when you were in the attic with a boy?” She just shook her head.
“When Mom finds out about it, she will be furious. Selena O’Brien, I am very disappointed in you.”
Selena moaned. “Stop this little game of yours. I thought you were maturing, but apparently I was mistaken.”
“Selena, you started it.” Jade turned around and faced Azeezat. “Did you have a good sleep?”
“Yes. I did, Miss Jade. Breakfast is just a few minutes away. Please take your seat at the breakfast table.”
“You should prepare for school, Selena. Oh, wait. You can’t. You seem drunk.” Jade bolted out the door.
Selena gripped her hand firmly. Was Jade forgetting she had a wolf inside her that could rip her head off in an instant? Selena was beginning to boil, but Azeezat placed her hand on her shoulder. “Miss Selena, you should relax. Little sisters can be annoying at times, but they do it for attention.”
Selena shot her a look. “You think?” Because Jade was getting on her nerves.
“Just don’t ignore her, and you will see the difference.”
How did she notice? She had been trying to tame Jade all along, but she was actually doing the opposite. If this continued, how would she inform Jade who was in charge? "Perhaps you are right. I should definitely treat her like an equal. I haven’t properly said hello. Welcome to O’Briens' home, Azeezat.”

“So, what time should we go over there?” Dalett asked. They had arrived in the evening, following Selena’s call about the mansion.
