CHAPTER 150 IT’S ADVENTURE TIME

“Alright, babies. I will make a call home. When the maid arrives, show her to her room and treat her nicely.” Isabel took a deep breath.

“Mom. It is only a month-long trip. You will return very soon.” Jade said. “We will miss you.” Jade approached Isabel, dragging Selena along with her as they hugged. They waved as Isabel approached the front door, then followed her until she got into the taxi. They only returned to the house after seeing the taxi leave the mansion.

Selena sighed with relief as they entered the house.

“Have you got it?”

Selena showed Jade the key. “Yes, I got it!”

“Yeah!” Jade burst out laughing in delight. “It’s adventure time.”

“Wait a moment, guys. Don’t you think having a party before the adventure is a good idea? We should relieve ourselves while also celebrating Selena’s memories coming back.” Dalett proposed. “What are your thoughts?”

“I think that is a good idea. I agree with Dalett.” Selena said. “Besides, Mom has allowed it. We will have fun tonight and then get back to work tomorrow.” She looked at Jade. “Of course you will not be attending. The party is rated 18.”

“That’s unfair. I want to enjoy it as well because I am a member of the team.”

“Jade. Jade. At this point, I agree with Selena. You should sit this one out.”

“I understand you don’t like me. You don’t need to make it obvious.” Jade rolled her eyes as she looked at Trisha. “Okay, fine. If I am not invited to your party, I should go to one of my own.”

“Absolutely not. You are not leaving this house.”

“I am in charge, Selena. Mom delegated authority over you and the house to me because she trusted me to do a better job. She didn’t look at my age. It is just so unfair.” Jade abruptly left her side and walked towards the stairs.

“You should definitely allow her to attend.” Dalett suggested.

Selena looked at her and folded her arms. “Why is that?”

“You mentioned that she is maturing herself. Selena, Jade is no longer a child, despite being fourteen years old. She has witnessed people kissing. This isn’t going to be her first adult party. Moreover, this is the most fruitful way of winning her over to your side. Give her some conditions. She is welcome to come, but she cannot drink.”

“Sometimes I despise you for being right,” Selena admitted.

“Trisha hates it when I am correct.” Dalett turned to face Trisha. “This is nothing new to me.”

Selena began clapping her hands in an attempt to get her friend’s attention. “The maid will be here shortly. Dalett, hurry to the store for some disposable cups. Trisha, accompany her and get some snacks for the party, while also sending texts to the entire school. I know today is not Friday, but Thursday night parties can also be enjoyable. I will prepare the house and make it look party-ready.”

“And I’m going to invite Titus over.” Jade mumbled to herself as she entered her room.

* * * *

Tyler got a text message from Jade. He turned his attention to Titus, who had been in his bed for as long as he could remember. Titus had refused to leave his room or bed, so he had kept him company. Tyler had no idea that love could break his friend down to the point where he wanted to give up his alpha title.

“Jade messaged me just now. Tonight, there will be a party at the O’Brien. She would like you to come.”

Titus let out a low groan as he continued to look out his window. “Tell her that I’m not interested.”

Tyler’s eyes widened as his phone beeped once again. He decided to bring them together after deciding to let go of his feelings for Selena. Some secrets should remain hidden. Perhaps the two of them will never know the truth. “She said Selena wants you to be there.”

Titus sat up when Selena’s name came up. “Really?”

Tyler showed him the text. “Yes. She wants you to be present.”

“Then I need to get out of bed and clean myself up.” He jumped out of bed and approached the bathroom door.

“Yes. You definitely should. You look like a mess right now.” Tyler yelled after him when he heard the door close. He stood up and went over to Titus’ wardrobe to help him get some clothes ready. While assisting Titus, he could hear running water in the bathroom. “Tell Selena that Titus will be there by 7:30 p.m.,” he texted back.

Jade smiled as she set down her phone. “Now. Let the love-matching begin. Selena, you will undoubtedly thank me for this.” She started to giggle.

At 7:30 p.m., the house began to fill up. Selena decided to set up everything herself because the maid had not yet arrived. She welcomed them inside without thinking about Xavier’s impending arrival. She knew he was not going to show up.

“I have a feeling this party is going to go well.” As they watched more people enter the house, Trisha told Selena.

“I had no idea so many people would turn up.”

“I made certain that Selena heard the words; you are the queen of Seattle High. No one would want to miss a party you host.” Trisha made eye contact with Selena. “By the way, do you think you will be able to get any gin? I forgot to pick some up on my way back from the market.”

“I think you can find one or two in the attic. Stay and welcome the others; I will return.”

Jade stood there, watching Selena walk away. She was looking forward to Titus’ arrival. She entered the back door and waited for Titus. He was alone when she spotted him. No, Tyler. She gave him a friendly wave.

“Where is Selena?” Titus asked.

“We should enter the house from the back door. “You will find her quickly.”

Titus followed Jade into the house, where she told him where to find Selena. The attic. Jade had also given him instructions. Titus made his way up to the attic.

Selena heard the door open while looking for the gin and wondered if Trisha had arrived to find her.

”Trisha,” she called as she approached the door, but instead bumped into Titus. Selena was surprised.

“You? What exactly are you doing here?”

“You invited me. You mentioned you wanted to see me.”

“I did?”

“Through jade.”

Selena sighed. “Obviously, Jade. I should have known.”

“So you didn’t call me? Jade did?”

“Yes. Jade did.”

“Oh.” He was beginning to feel awkward. The door was unexpectedly locked from behind.

Selena let out a groan. “Jade.” She went to the door and tried to open it, but it was closed. She turned to face Titus. “It appears that she will not open this door until the party is over. Let me call Trisha.” She looked for her phone and realized she had left it in her room. “Great.” She focused her gaze on him.

“Could you lend me your phone?”

“I don’t have a phone. Remember?"

“Of course.” Selena found a seat and sat down. “It seems like we will be spending the evening here.” She took a deep breath. “Fortunately, there is gin. We can drink all night.” She gestured to a nearby chair. “Come join me.”
