Chapter 133
Chapter 133
The woman looked at me like she could throw me out of the class.
"You are not a Demon, are you?" She asked and I had to shake my head again.
"I-I am a werewolf."
She looked surprised. "Werewolf?"
The students began to murmur again. "If she is just a werewolf, why is she among the students with abnormal powers?" A student asked.
"Do you think there is something wrong with her wolf?"
Hearing them talk about my wolf, I almost fell but Ashley held me quickly. I was scared that they might have found out about my other four wolves and that was the reason they thought I was not normal. I tried to stay calm but I couldn't.
If my secret is out, even the Demon King might not want me again.
"Is there anything wrong with your wolf?" Miss Rita asked.
I tried to say something but I couldn't. I rubbed my sweaty hands together and tried to speak again but I couldn't.
"What did you say your name was again?" Miss Rita asked.
"K-Karen. Karen Smith," I stuttered.
She left the class and Ashley made me sit. The students did not stop talking and that made me feel down; Ashley tried her best to calm me down.
Miss Rita walked in a few minutes later and the class became silent.
"Is your wolf blind, Karen?" She asked.
I blinked. Twilight is not blind. She just has sight issues.
"She is not completely blind," I defended.
"You don't possess any power, and your wolf is blind. I mean partially blind. That is the reason you were asked to join the students with abnormal powers."
I took a deep breath. Although I was angry that they considered Twilight to be blind, I was happy they hadn't found out about my other wolves.
"The girl over there," Miss Rita pointed at the quiet girl. "You can introduce yourself now."
The girl said nothing; she did not raise her head either.
"Is she one of the Unusuals?" Miss Rita asked.
"Are they called the Unusuals?" A student asked.
"I guess they are," another answered.
"Yes, ma'am," some students answered.
"They are really weird people," she grumbled.
"We are not weird people," I answered, and everyone stared at me.
"Who is she talking to?" Someone asked and I realised that I was the only one who heard what Miss Rita said.
I was too angry at her words to notice that.
"I heard werewolves' ears are sharp. But yours seems to be shaper," she said with a fake smile.
I did not reply to her. I just focused my gaze on the books in front of me. For the rest of the class, I tried to resist listening to her whispers. I even ended up answering a few of them, and a lot of students stared at me strangely.
I used to ignore that a lot before but now I couldn't. Maybe that was because I have been considered Unusual, and I no longer see a reason to ignore it. The first class ended and I breathed a sigh of relief. A few students came to me.
"Can you really hear people's whispers?" A girl asked.
"Can you read people's thoughts too?" Another asked.
They looked so eager to hear, and I was willing to tell them, but a girl walked up to us.
"Don't you know how to ignore abnormals? They are dangerous."
I stared at her. "You..."
"Not as dangerous as you are," Ashley snapped back. "Your mouth stinks."
Everyone burst into laughter. I couldn't help but laugh too.
The girl stomped her feet to the ground in anger and left. I felt relieved having Ashley by my side. The rest of the girls had to leave, too, when a new teacher walked in.
As usual, we introduced ourselves. This time I felt more confident to introduce myself, and when I was asked why I was not in group one or two, I told him my wolf had sight issues. He did not ask any further questions nor did he look at me strangely.
When the quiet girl was asked to talk, she said nothing. And the moment he asked if she belonged to the Unusual group and the students said yes, he didn't press further.
For every teacher who walked into the class and asked the same question and was given the same answer, they said nothing after that, except murmuring. I began to wonder what these students with abnormal powers are like.
"You seem to be the only outspoken student among the Unusuals," one of the teachers had said. "I have been to various classes and they have been quiet."
I looked at the quiet girl and I noticed she looked up. She was staring dangerously at me but hid it so quickly. She bent her head again as if nothing had happened.
"Did you notice she looked at me?" I asked Ashley who was looking in the girl's direction.
"She did? I don't think so," Ashley answered.
Was I the only one who noticed it? Or was it just my imagination?
The class finally ended for the day and I was so happy about it. I have been curious to know what my dorm looked like and what it will be like to stay with other students with abnormal powers.
We picked up our bags and headed for the hall; we've been told during lunch that we are to meet in the dining hall after school closes.
We saw Tiffany and Pearl and went to join them. I noticed the rest of the Unusuals were alone or with just one person without saying a word.
"Do you know that girl over there is an Unusual?" Someone whispered. "But she seems different."
"Her wolf is blind," one of my classmates said.
"And who told you that?" Pearl asked.
"She said that herself," the girl defended.
Pearl stared at me and I shook my head.
"The next time you call her wolf blind, I won't spare you," Pearl growled at her.
The girl became scared and ran away.
"Do all werewolves growl?" Tiffany asked.
She was happy and at the same time curious.
"Yes they do," Pearl answered.
"Can you do that too, Karen?" She asked and I nodded. "How about you do it?"
I chuckled. "I don't think I can do that now. Miss Miranda and others are here."
Tiffany groaned. "But you are doing it next time."
I nodded. If there is.
Miss Miranda went on to address us and also warned every student who called us abnormal.
"They are called the Unusuals. Whosoever calls them abnormal, or any other harsh word, would be punished or even expelled."
I was happy there was such a rule. At least we won't get strange names.
"The groups might be reshuffled," she continued. "This time it will be based on what powers you displayed. A lot of you in group one might be moved to group two and vice versa."
"What about the Unusuals?" A student shouted.
"You should worry about yourself not being moved to the Unusual group," Miss Miranda answered and the once noisy hall became quiet.
