Chapter 134
Chapter 134
I could tell that most of the students feared they might end up being an Unusual.
Miss Miranda went on to tell us what we are going to do and the rules and regulations that are attached to it.
A woman brought out a mirror. It looked like a normal mirror at first, but when students began to touch it one after the other, and they manifested different powers, I knew the mirror wasn't a normal one.
One after the other, students touched it. Those who manifest only one power were asked to stay on the left. And those with two or more were moved to the right.
For the first set of students who did, none of them manifested any strange powers. Even two students who were once considered as Unusuals ended up in group two. I began to think they had made mistakes.
With the first set of students done and none of them being Unusual, other students began to move forward.
The second set of students had two Unusuals and by the time the rest were done, we had eighteen instead of twenty-five.
I finally understood why they were called the Unusuals; they either have above three powers that are fluctuating or totally new powers that no one can control, because some of them had to be knocked down to be controlled.
I was the only student left who had not touched the mirror yet, and everyone looked forward to seeing which group I would fall into. A lot of people were curious to know what my wolf would look like; they had seen a few wolves, including Pearl.
I moved forward but Miss Miranda stopped me. "That would be all for today."
The students began to murmur, asking why I wouldn't touch the mirror when others did.
Miss Miranda did not tell them why. She just asked me to join the Unusuals and I did.
The students kept on murmuring. It was so loud in my ears that my head hurt. Miss Miranda and the others tried to stop them from talking but they wouldn't stop. They insisted that I touch the mirror like the rest. I tried to stop myself from listening to them but I couldn't.
"That would be all for today," Miss Miranda announced. "Now, march to your different bus stations. The bus would come to pick you up in..."
"She must touch the mirror," a student shouted, and soon enough almost every student was chanting the same thing.
I became scared and tried to leave the hall but some students stopped me. They began to drag me to the mirror.
No matter how Miss Miranda and the other women tried to stop them, they wouldn't stop.
My fear became anger and I had to pull myself away from them. I began to feel the urge to fight them but I tried to control myself.
They went on murmuring and when I couldn't take it anymore, I growled at them. Some kept shut, wondering who had done that, but others kept talking; maybe that was because it wasn't strong enough to scare them.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and yelled instead. "Keep quiet!!!"
The hall became so quiet that the sound of a falling pin would be heard.
They looked so scared; I felt happy about it. Miss Miranda was also staring at me strangely; I could tell she didn't expect that.
I walked towards the mirror myself and touched it. Nothing happened. I did not manifest any power nor turn into a wolf.
"Are you all satisfied now?" I asked but they said nothing.
"For every one of you involved, you are getting punished," Miss Miranda told them. "You can go now."
I went back to join the rest of the Unusuals, and we headed to the bus station. None of them said a word to me; I did not say a word to them either.
I was sad that none of my wolves showed up; not even Twilight. We got to the bus station and waited for the bus. When it came, we entered and headed to our new dorm.
Our drive to the new dorm was a quiet one but I wasn't bothered. I just closed my eyes and tried to get some sleep. I was tired from all the drama; my head still hurts.
We got to the dorm and we alighted. Miss Miranda was already waiting for us. She led us to the dorms. Two dorms were facing each other; one for the males and the other for the females.
A man joined us to take the males to their dorm while the females followed Miss Miranda. When we entered the dorm, I was surprised. I had expected to see a shattered-looking dorm; maybe that was because we are not considered to have normal powers.
We met with some girls who greeted Miss Miranda. She told us they are our seniors. Miss Miranda asked one of them to go ring the bell and gather the rest of the girls.
We went to a hall and waited for the rest of the students. Miss Miranda introduced us to them as the new students. They did not say anything; it was obvious they were not interested in us.
She called out eighteen students and handed over eighteen new students to them. They are to be their guide and roommate.
"You both will stay together," Miss Miranda said and I had to look at who I would be staying with.
I noticed it was the quiet girl in my class. Why is she suddenly here? I did not notice her in the hall or on the bus. How did she get here?
Miss Miranda dismissed the rest of the students, leaving the quiet girl and me with her.
"You can speak now, Ariel," Miss Miranda said.
"Mother," the girl mumbled and I blinked.
S-she is Miss Miranda's daughter?
"You are going to stay with Karen, Ariel. She is a nice person okay?" Miss Miranda said, but Ariel shook her head.
"She makes others think that the rest of the Unusuals are weird. I was so angry I looked at her strangely."
I tapped my feet slightly. So I wasn't wrong about her looking at me strangely in class the other time?
"Come over here," Miss Miranda gestured and I moved closer to her. "You can't make friends with others, Karen because when they find out what you really are, that love would turn to dislike."
I furrowed my brows. What does she mean? Does that mean I can't make friends with Ashley and others?
"What about my friends?"
"If you think they would be fine after finding out that you have more than one wolf," she answered and I blinked.
She knew that too?
"You know that too?"
She nodded. "I know you have more than one wolf, Karen."
I couldn't hide my shock. But how?
I had hidden it so well that I did not expect anyone to find out.
She smiled. "You are wondering how I knew about it?" I nodded and she smiled again. "I am Jayden's mother. The one who gave you a bracelet."
