Chapter 285 CHAPTER 285

Chapter 285 CHAPTER 285
The soldiers on our side had finally accepted the reality of things and pulled back.

The ones in the air, came to my side.

"Who did you say you are again?"

I didn't turn to see who it was, these Fae were running and I needed to decimate a large chunk so when I cross, I can get the chance to look at their army properly.

Without getting shot down from the sky.

"Alira Zharion!" I yelled in reply, adjusting on Zorath's neck.

"The girl that fell from the sky?" The Commander asked, his voice uncertain.

"The same one, yes. Tell your soldiers to move back, I need to cross!"

"Are you crazy? They'll kill you!"

"Not if I kill them first," I said, pushing one more sprint of liquid fire across the border.

Then I turned to look at the commander.

I was shocked to see it was a woman, but then her voice is really thick and rough, or maybe I wasn't paying attention.

But that's not why I'm here.

"Where's the rest of the army? We were told to prepare for the King. Why are you here?"

"Let's not go into all of that for now," I said with a playful wink, "the King is supposed to be here in two days so you can keep preparing for him. I'm heading in."

I tapped Zorath's scales and my dragon flew forward, his twin right beside us.

But right as his snout dipped into the ward, a loud voice stopped us in our tracks.

"ALIRA!" I heard Draco's voice, "Stop right there! What are you trying to do?"

"Master Draco," the female commander greeted him while I got Zorath to turn around.

"Commander Lyris," he nodded, "I apologize for this interruption. My woman is a bit impulsive."

"I don't mind, she just saved me a lot of soldiers and turned our enemies to ash. But I need to know what the next line of action is."

I gritted my teeth as I watched him and then from behind him, I noticed a blanket of dragons, every colour under the sun, flying towards here.

"Shit," I whispered, "where is the King?" I asked Draco, my fingers closing in a tense fist.

"Behind everyone else. He went to get your mother by himself. So I don't know how else to tell you this, but behave. There's a chance for you to get out of this unscathed, please take it."

I wanted to be angry at him, at his cowardice and fear, but I didn't have the time for that.

Once the King gets here, he'll unleash pain on me just to humiliate me and I didn't make it all the way here for that.

"I'll see you on the other side, Principal Draco," I said, and tapped my dragon.

"Alira!" He yelled, "stop! What of your mum?!"

"Let him know that if he hurts her, he's going to be replacing one enemy with another. This power in my veins doesn't only fight for Drakkonia."

With that, I pushed past the veil.

"Alira!" I heard more voices, but the sound was drowned by the rippling, goey feeling of the Ward washing over me.

It was like I had gone into a big container of gum and despite being on a dragon's back, it was hard getting through.

I didn't want to use my air element because it drains me the fastest but I wasn't breathing and this thing didn't seem to have an end.

Time was fast getting spent too, giving my enemies time to gather before me.

"Hold on," Zorath whispered in my head, "just get ready to fight."

Relieved that I didn't have to deplete my energy, I boiled hot, and with one loud popping sound, I was out on the other side.

And arrows were coming for me instantly.

But I was ready.

My darkness caught them all and I poured it back into their camp.

The further I moved, the darker it got.

I poured more and more, their anguish slowly rising.

It was like a thick cloud of smoke, after a bombing, but it was pitch black.

Their military base was endless and I they were all running back, while still firing weapons and performing their magic.

Then I paused, and gave Orealeus the go ahead.

He rained fire from left to right and the soldiers that were screaming before, gradually stopped.

The first four lines of their army were now ash.

Then the real war began.

Machines infused with magic were being used to fire large, steel tipped arrows at me, their dragons joined the battle and an avalanche of Faes raised their hands in unison from the centre and began manipulating the air.

All against me.

I burnt the arrows and the machines and my dragons fought side by side, their fire clashing with the ice coming from the Fae dragons.

But as the air grew tighter, I knew it was time to unleash what I'd come here for.

The power inside me had been acting as an assistant, a way to make my dragon kin powers.. more.

But I was just testing their weaknesses and trying to see if they could be scared enough to be forced to communicate.

That's clearly not happening and they're confident in their own strength.

So I brought out the big guns.

It was dangerous closing my eyes in this type of place but Drakkonian soldiers were already coming in through the ward.

I need to do this now.

"Orealeus, tell everyone to wait," I said, even though I doubt they'll listen.

Still, I hurried up.

The power didn't take too long to embrace me this time, we were well acquainted now.

I let it fill me, and just like that day in the volcano, it pushed me off the back of my dragon and I rose in the air, hands outspread and a ring of fire covering my dragons.

Then I took a deep, deep breath.

And I let out a scream.

I couldn't see it, but it felt like a blinding light was bursting out of my chest, spreading across everything in sight.

Then it waited for my instruction.

"Kill them."
