Chapter 41 Harom 's Evil Plan

Chapter 41 Harom 's Evil Plan

Taya's POV

I didn't take Emperor Namon's mother seriously when she said that my father's envious brother would be coming after me. Now the god of unmaking stands in front of me. The letter I received must have been his trick to get me out of Emperor Namon's chambers.

How is he in this world with his powers? What mission is he on?

"What do you want?" I ask.

"You're my brother's secret heir, his way of winning against me by taking the greatest crown. I would have loved a beautiful niece if she wasn't born of his treacherous blood," he says, taking steps closer. I am trapped since the door is locked.

"You want to kill me for a crown that I have not claimed to want?" I ask. "What kind of a god are you?"

"Yes, I wish I could kill you now and end my brother's annoying blood for good. Unfortunately I cannot do so in this world as my father would know about it and permanently banish me from the home of gods," he confesses, now only two steps away from me.

I have no space left to run behind me, but I can move sideways. I try, but the god moves at lightning speed. His fingers wrap around my neck, his immense strength lifts me off the ground and smacks my head and body against the locked door.

Pain erupts across my back, making my brain swim momentarily. My grip on my baby remains tight however. My situation is hopeless, but I will die protecting the only person that has not hurt me yet.

I can no longer breathe. His grip on my neck is too tight. My limbs are getting weak and I have to focus all of my remaining strength to holding my baby.

"I have prepared your former mistress to take your place in Emperor Namon's bed. I gave her your appearance, no one will ever know that she is a not you. She will be more compliant to the orders of Emperor Namon and his mother. Thus they will present her to my father as Axon's heir. She will fail all of his tests because she is a stupid werewolf. That way you will lose the chance to take your father's crown," he whispers in a low, mocking voice.

His clever plan shocks me, but not as much as my fading life. He is about to kill me despite saying that he shouldn't.

His grip finally loosens a little to allow air into my lungs. My body regains some strength again, but not enough to fight my evil uncle.

"I will keep you hidden until stupid Viyara has disappointed my father by failing every test. Then he will not care about your death," he hisses.

He thinks that Viyara can successfully pretend to be me? Unfortunately he is right. It's only Emperor Namon and his mother she needs to fool. And neither knows much about me. They only care about my ability to grant them the greatest crown.

I open my mouth to scream in hope that someone will hear me. His grip on my neck tightens once more and only a low groan comes out.

"My hands are itching to kill you right now. And restraint isn't a virtue I possess. So stop tempting me," he snarls in my hear. "Viyara will take good care of your baby, she after all wanted one more than anything," he adds in a low voice.

I feel a strange cold spreading from his fingers on my neck to my body. It's a freezing cold that makes my flesh numb, like death infecting my flesh. I fight to maintain a tight hold of my baby. The numbness gets to my mind before my arms. My consciousness fades.

Emperor Namon's POV

My eyes narrow with confusion and anger at the sight of a calm and undecorated palace of Bloodmoon Kingdom.

There is also no sight of a burial ceremony nor people to welcome me. What an insult!

I, a god and Emperor, was kind enough to accept an invitation to their wretched Kingdom, how can they just be standing around? How dare they act like I am some peasant ridding through their gates?

Guards and servants stand gaping as if I am some magic creature. Some run into the small palace.

"My Lord I think . . . something is wrong," one of my councilmen points the obvious. "I have never thought Alpha Edgar to be so stupidly discourteous."

"I will take his head and leave the body to be buried beside that of his son," I state, taking my sword.

I get off the carriage and my escort follows. The palace's front doors open before we get to them. The stupid Alpha, his wife and men step out, smiling like a bunch of bananas.

"My Lord, what an honor! Welcome to -"

I take a step forward with my sword and those behind the Alpha quickly pulls him back.

"You had the courage to use a childish trick to disgrace me and my men but not the courage to face the consequences?" I scoff.

The group looks horrified. They quickly fall to their knees and stutter nonsense over each other. I can make them sleep forever, but I would rather take their heads and hang them on top of their gates.

"Take all of their heads!" I order my soldiers.

My robes do not have to get dirty. Not for such poor wretches.

"My Lord if I may speak . . .. there might have been some misunderstanding. Because that is Prince Albert. He looks alive," one of the soldiers points at a young man in fine robes and a thin crown.

"Can I ask why they lied about his death so you would come here, My Lord?" another asks.

I nod in approval since I too wonder why anyone would act so stupid. The Alpha answers the questions before being asked.

"My Lord we are surprised by your presence here. Yes, my beloved son is alive. No one I know has ever claimed that he has passed."

"Then why did you send a messenger to beg our Emperor to attend his burial ceremony?" the soldier demands.

"We did no such thing, My Lord! We would not even dream of losing our son, our only child," the Alpha's wife shouts.

"I have only one messenger and he has not left this Kingdom in many months," the Alpha adds, pointing at a thin man beside him.

The person looks nothing like the messenger who begged me to come here. What a ridiculous joke this is!

I care not about their lame defenses. Because I will carry the shame of my disgraceful arrival to this palace if I do not punish them.

"My Lord . . . I worry that we were tricked," my second councilman whispers. "If these people did not send the messenger, then someone who wanted you to leave your palace did."

What? I fear that may be the case. I left Taya alone in my palace. Someone made great efforts to make me leave.
