Chapter 39 The Deal With The god Of Unmaking
Chapter 39 The Deal With The god Of Unmaking
Third Person's POV
Viyara claws on her hands and knees while cleaning the floor of her tiny servant room with a wet rug. Her ruthless trainers stand watching and mocking her. They keep their whips ready to strike when she makes a mistake. The skin of her back is already sore and painful from the many lashes she has received since losing the crown.
"Look at it. It's as slow as a snail! We cannot wait hours for it to finish this tiny task," one of her supervisors accuses.
Viyara braces herself for the inevitable, ruthless punishment. The servant delivers a resounding blow to her back as expected. Her instinctive scream gets blocked by her sewn lips. Her hand leaves the wet rug and moves to rub the spot where the whip landed. Tears and sweat stream down her face.
"Carry on cleaning you lazy slave!" the second servant kicks her butt, the force of her leg pushing her forward fast and causing her face to smack the floor.
Once again, she is unable to scream. Her brain can barely think through the pain. So when the servant lands another blow on her backside, Viyara jolts upright and runs.
The servants laugh while watching her fall back down trying to halt before getting to the wall. The former spoiled wife of the Emperor had forgotten that her new chambers are only few steps wide. She still gets up and tries to get away from her torturers as possible, but the two excited servants chase her around the tiny space, laughing in enjoyment like small children chasing a bug.
They swing their whips without caring where the blows land on Viyara's running form. Their little chase within the small space quickly turns into a competition of who lands more blows on Viyara, with each counting their score loudly. Viyara gets tired quickly and collapses to the floor, having received more than twenty blows on different parts of her weakened body.
Her inability to scream or cry out loud makes the pain feel two times worse. She never imagined that her life could turn from glory and luxury to hell in just few days. She was the most envied Queen, now she is an abused slave without a mouth. While her former servant sleeps in the Emperor's bed, the man that her heart is yet to give up on.
"Get back to work!" The servant who just lost their little game of whipping her angrily lands a kick on her left thigh.
Viyara does her best to ignore the pain and crawls back to the wet rug. She might avoid further beating by displaying more effort.
The servants watch her and make jokes of her new status. A third one walks through the door with a piece of bread on a plate and just throws it on the floor for Viyara to pick up. None seem to care that her mouth is sealed thus she cannot eat.
"Let's go have our breakfast," one of the servants say. "You better be done cleaning by the time we return!" she orders Viyara.
The three leave Viyara alone, finally giving her the moment of little peace she had longed for. She eyes the bread with hungry eyes, but there is nothing she can do to sate her hunger with it. It suddenly dawns on her that Emperor Namon didn't even think of how she would eat before ordering her mouth to be sewn. She will soon die of thirst and hunger if someone doesn't intervene.
She sighs and lays flat on the floor, hoping to st least have a lengthy rest if the cruel servants doesn't return soon. She starts to close her eyes but notices something strange. A person's shadow entering the room, but there is no person.
She trembles in shock and fear. Unfortunately, she cannot call out for help.
The owner of the shadow suddenly appears, tall, muscular, good-looking god of unmaking!
Viyara stares up at the attractive god whose body is clothed in shimmering jewelry. He looks like her saviour from the heavens.
Harom regards her with disgust at first but later forces a smile to fool his desperate worshiper. "You made a great sacrifice to me days ago. I am here to answer your prayers, Lady Viyara," he says.
Viyara's eyes widen in surprise and joy.
"A beautiful woman like you deserves better than this. I will help you become Emperor Namon's Empress once more. Isn't that what you prayed for?"
Viyara struggles to answer, does senseless gestures.
"I can hear your thoughts. You do not have to speak," Harom assures. "Yes, Emperor Namon prefers his beautiful goddess mate, I would too. That's why you're going to become her. I will give you her appearance, and you will take her place, her name and child," he tells.
Viyara smiles through her eyes. Her salvation may have arrived late but she will never bear the shame of what has happened to her if she acquires Taya's physical appearance. She would be adorned and cherished like a true goddess. She still has questions though?
"Where will you take her? I want her dead permanently," she thinks so that her saviour can hear.
"My father would be extremely upset if I kill his granddaughter before she fails his tests. I am not just helping you because of your little sacrifice, I need you to take Taya's place so that my father will test the wrong person thinking it's her. That way she will fail and will never take the crown of gods," Harom answers.
"Where will you take the real her so I can take her place?" Viyara thinks the question and waits for an answer.
"I will hide her until you have failed all of my father's tests, then I will kill her as she will no longer hold any importance to my father or those who admired my brother. The Empress's crown will be forever yours as long as you make everyone believe that you are Taya," Harom assures.
