Chapter 97 - Full Moon

The Old Mansion.

Mrs. Willie had exhausted the entire spell in her spell book but she couldn’t ease the burning fever. Jasmine was no longer the only one wrestling with hallucinations. Dean joined the party.

He grabbed Mrs. Willie wanting to strangle her. He thought he was Mia, a witch who trotted him into loving her and then stole a powerful spell book from his family.

“Where’s the book, Mia!” he yelled, holding Mrs. Willie down.

She gasped and barely squeezed out. “I am not Mia.”

With a flick of her wrist, she slammed Dean off her like she did with Jasmine.

Just when she thought she was already free, Jasmine grabbed her from behind. She brought her fangs closer to her neck for a smooth puncture.

“No!” Mrs. Willie cried out. She held Jasmine’s head, trying to push her away.

As Jasmine continued to struggle to bite Mrs. Willie, she couldn’t help but whisper a few spells in her fading breath.

A tormenting song rang harshly and loudly in Jasmine’s ears with a wild headache as her brain fries inside like a sizzling meant.

She collapsed to the floor, screaming like a scared banshee.

Mrs. Willie steeled her failing nerves and sprang up to her feet. She headed to the door but was grabbed from behind by Dean.

“Where do you think you are going with my book, Mia?” His eyes hardened and narrowed into slits.

“I am sorry, Dean,” Mrs. Willie whispered. She whispered again but this time it was the spell that caused Jasmine to have a wild headache with her brain frying on the inside.

He collapsed to the floor and started screaming out in agony, giving Mrs. Willie the chance to escape and shut the door after her.

Somewhere in the woods.

“Thank you for doing this, love,” Dan said as he kissed Mary. “I will forever be in your debt.”

The leaves crunched under his feet as a soft wind whistled through the tree. The smell of damp wood after rainfall was in the air.

“There’s no need to thank me,” she flashed a winning smile. “It’s time I begin.”

“Of course.” Dan gently breaks his gentle hold on Mary and draws back. He turned toward the werewolves present. “It’s time brothers!”

A loud cheer of excitement broke out. The moment they have been waiting for is here.

Mary picked up the book of shadows from the table before her. With just a gesture of her hand, the candles came to life with gentle fire sitting on them.

She flipped the pages of the book of Shadow to page 34. She shut her eyes and breathed out. “Let’s do this,” she said to herself. The spell needs to begin a few minutes before the appearance of the moon.

The spell was written in Aramaic. She’s not good with learning new languages but as a gypsy, coming across any ancient language spells are written in, she could be able to read and understand as though she knows the language.

As she chanted in Aramaic, the wind became harsh and howled through the leaves, knocking down some leaves.

No matter how hard or harsh the wind howled, the candles never go off. They are magically protected to remain burning until the spells are over.

The moon peeped through the fig tree leaves and faintly lit up the path ahead.

The werewolves slumped to their knees all at once. Wild screams broke out. Their bones are repositioning and shifting to take the form of a werewolf. The transformation is about to begin.

Dan stared with disbelief. Only he was standing. Immediately the moon appears, werewolves in human form will cease to be in human form as they will shift to their wolf form.

The sound of the bones snapping and repositioning itself was so loud in Dan’s ears. Fear gripped him, thinking the spell wasn’t working.

The fear on his face was suddenly replaced when he gazed into the dark sky. He saw the moon turning red. His cheeks flushed with excitement.

“It’s working,” he said.

Mary never stopped but continued with her chanting.

The candles on the tables at this time burned angrily. For a moment, the harsh wind ceased.

Dan could no longer hear the snapping sound of the bones. They are not transforming. Their transformations seemed to have stopped.

He turned toward them with a broad smile on his face. The moon returned to its normal color as the werewolves dragged themselves up to their feet.

“That’s all!” Mary said, closing the book of shadows.

Dan swirled. “It worked. I can feel it.” His eyes glowed. His countenances changed to a cheerful one. “You did it, love! You did it.” He ran toward her and hugged her closely to himself.

Samuel lifted his hand and gazed closely at it. He watched as his hand turned to the hand of a beastly hairy creature with claws. He smiled broadly. “I can control my form!”

“Me too!” the rest yelled in excitement.

Some of them made a quick transformation into their wolf form and another quick transformation into their human form.

“Oh, no,” Scott muttered under his breath. “We are late.”

Even the slightest whisper from him was heard as the werewolf's ability was heightened on the full moon. Apart from that, they now have the control of their form.

Samuel sniffs in the air with hate in his eyes as the rest of the werewolf bloodlines lock their gaze on Scott. “Vampire,” he said.

Fear gripped Scott as he began to draw back.

Matt pulled him back and blasted the werewolves with a wind blast. Another wind blast came from Evelyn, stirring up chaos.

Dan’s attention was drawn to the unforeseen incident. His eyes narrowed into slits. As he was about to take a step, Mary pulled him back. “They are my family,” she said. A shocked look crossed her face as she wondered what her parents were doing there.

Before another plea could escape her lips, someone grabbed her from behind. Dan couldn’t see who it was. The person who grabbed her was faster than the eye could perceive. All he heard was a whoosh.

His eyebrows scrunched together as his forehead creased. “No!” he cried out.
