Chapter 96 - Turn Around!
Out of the blue portal, Rah, Jude, and two other men walked out one after another.
The portal disappeared into thin air, leaving Scott, Evelyn, and Matt to continue to stare at the men before them with wide eyes.
“Who are you folks and what are you doing here?” Jude spoke up. There’s a trace of hate in his eyes, especially on seeing Scott. He could tell he was a vampire.
“We are here for my daughter,” Scott said. “The lady who owns this place has something to do with her disappearance.”
“You mean the gypsy girl?” Rah cuts in, focusing his gaze on Scott.
“How do you know about my daughter?” Evelyn’s eyes widened with curiosity. She too could sense they were supernatural entities but as for how they knew about Mary, she couldn’t figure that out. All she sees in them is a conspiracy.
“It doesn’t matter,” Jude blurted out. “We are here to get Kate.”
“Who the hell is Kate?” Matt stared with a wide-eyed gaze.
Jude hissed. “The lady that owns this place, remember.” Their presence at his sister’s shop pisses him off, especially when a vampire is present.
“We won’t let anyone take her until she tells us where to find…”
“You must be kidding, right?” Rah pushed back Scott’s words. “Look around, Pal! It’s four against three.”
“I am not your pal!” Scott blurted. “And if I have to take y’all out to find that Kate of a person. I will!” His nostrils flared as he continued to stare at Rah with hate.
Jude gnawed. “And you think I will let you lay your filthy hand on my sister?”
Scott smirked with fakeness. “Now I see why you folks are here,” he said. “She called for backup and you came.”
“Look, pal. We…”
“I am not your pal!” Scott lashed at Rah. “Call me that again and your heart will be out.”
Rah chuckled. “You are funny, angry, and annoying. But here is the deal. Walk away with your people and there will be no bloodshed. Perhaps, not today.”
“Enough!” Evelyn yelled. With a flick of her wrist, she flings Rah and his men away. She has had enough.
They made a rough landing on the shelves.
She locked on them with her eyes. With her both hands stretched out, the place started shaking vigorously like the rapid shaking of an earthquake.
“I am not leaving without my daughter!”
The bulbs burst like a gun fired in the air.
“We need to take her down!” Jude yelled out to Rah. “She just threw the first punch.”
One thing about Rah coven is they try not to take the first punch. They strike last but harder.
“Not on my watch!” Scott said. He moved faster than the eye could see and grabbed Rah. He’s very observant to know he’s their leader. He had his hand on his throat and was ready to snap it.
“Don’t you dare!” Jude yelled. He struggled to be on his feet but Evelyn’s wind his hard on him to even move a muscle.
“Now that I have gotten your attention, let’s talk like mature folks. Shall we?”
“What do you want?” Rah gasped.
“I just want my daughter and Kate to be aware of where she is.”
Rah gasped again. Scott’s grip is firm on him. “We are here to get Kate for going against our rules. Perhaps we could work together.”
“What rule did she break?”
“That’s none of your damn business!” Jude lashed out. He didn’t want Rah to answer a filthy vampire. That’s how he has always seen the vampires. Filthy and evil because they live on blood.
“Unhand me and I will answer,” Rah demanded. He’s almost losing his breath and dying at the hands of a vampire means he will remain dead. Only supernatural entities can take the life of a witch from Rah’s coven.
Scott obliged. He signaled Evelyn to stop what she was doing with the wind and the earth.
Rah appreciated Scott for being gentle with him. He opens his mouth and begins to speak. “If the gypsy girl is your daughter, Kate just helped her master control of her power. Tonight is the full moon and this only means one thing if we don’t work together.”
Scott raised his head quizzically. “Any idea where we can find them?”
“No, but we can try a locator spell. But first, we need to find Kate and strip her powers. That’s punishment for what she did.”
Evelyn rolled her eyes on Rah. “Punishment for helping a gypsy learn power control?” She picked an offense to what Rah said.
“Punishment for helping a gypsy that wants to cast a spell to alter the curse of the moon,” Rah said. “That’s the best way to put it.”

Dan's mansion.
“What do you mean your coven and Mary’s family are after you?” a look of puzzlement crossed Dan’s face. “How did your coven even know you helped Mary?”
“My twin brother and I channeled our powers. This means, when I do magic, he sees it.” She stopped, taken aback as she peered at the werewolves gathering outside the mansion.
Dan tilted his head in frustration. “And you are telling me this now, why?”
“Because I never knew it was a big deal to help Mary. Now they are here to strip my powers. I need your help.”
“What about Mary’s parents? Where are there?”
“I left them in my shop.”
“Good. In a few hours, the moon will be out and we will complete the task.” Dan placed his hand on her shoulder. He stared deep into her eyes. “You will be safe here. I promise.”
“Where is Mary?”
“In the shower, why?”
“Doesn’t she need to know her parents are looking for her?”
Dan’s face changed. It turned mean and serious as he pulled Evelyn outside. “Never you speak a word to her about that or I will throw you out to face your coven alone.”
Kate’s eyes hardened. “Is that how friends now repay each other?”
“Don’t make me do that,” Dan said. “You are welcome to stay here if you will not speak a word to Mary.”
Kate watched in silence as Dan walked back in. She’s puzzled by Dan’s actions and intentions toward Mary. She’s unsure if he truly loves Mary like he claims.
