Chapter 25 I Hit You, So What

Aria covered her slapped cheek, seemingly unable to believe that I would hit her.

She widened her eyes, filled with anger. "Amelia, how dare you hit me?"

I looked at her coldly. "Aria, this slap is for my mom."

Saying that, I slapped her again. "And this one is for Oliver."

Aria was trembling with rage. She raised her hand, wanting to hit back, but I wasn't going to give her the chance.

Despite the pain all over my body, I mustered all my strength and kicked Aria in the knee.

Aria fell to the ground but quickly got up and lunged at me crazily, pulling my hair and hitting and scratching me. "Amelia, you bitch, I'll kill you."

I had no strength left to fight back. The pain spreading from my bones was overwhelming, and I was on the verge of passing out.

The only thing I could do now was to hold Oliver tightly in my arms, preventing him form getting hurt.

At the critical moment, a nurse arrived just in time.

"Miss, this is a hospital. Please don't cause trouble," the nurse said, standing in front of me and pulling Aria away.

Aria glared at the nurse and said viciously, "Who do you think you are? How dare you interfere with me?"

The nurse said, "Miss, this is a hospital. Please mind your behavior. If you continue to make a scene in the ward, don't blame me for calling security to escort you out."

Aria sneered, "Amelia, I won't let go of you. Since you're so protective of this cat, I'll make sure to kill it."

She then turned to the nurse. "Call the police. Her cat scratched me. Who knows if it has rabies?"

Aria said as she took out her phone to call the police. After making the call, she raised her hand to take a picture of the scratch on her hand.

I guessed she was sending it to Henry.

Sure enough, the next second, Aria sent two voice messages.

"Henry, look, I got scratched by a cat. It hurts so much, and it's bleeding. What if the cat has rabies? What if I die?"

"I'm so scared, Henry. Can you come and be with me?"

Henry quickly replied, and Aria deliberately played the voice message out loud for me to hear. "Aria, where are you? I'm coming right away."

Henry's voice was anxious, clearly worried about Aria's injury.

I tugged at my lips, feeling even more pain in my body. But it couldn't compare to the pain in my heart.

Henry really cared about Aria. Just a cat scratch, barely bleeding, and it made Henry so worried. He must really love Aria.

Holding Oliver with one hand and supporting myself on the hospital bed with the other, I tried to stand up.

But I couldn't muster the strength and almost fell again. Fortunately, the nurse caught me in time. She said worriedly, "Ms. Martinez, I'll go get Dr. Scott right away."

I nodded weakly. "Thank you."

I felt like my condition was terrible, and I was afraid something bad would happen.

I was more afraid of dying than anyone else. I wanted to live well.

"No, I'll call Dr. Scott. If I leave, what if she bullies you again?" The nurse stood in front of me, looking protective.

She called Brian, but no one answered.

Before Brian arrived, the police did. Both Aria and I were injured, so we were both taken to the police station.

The police questioned us, "What happened?"

Aria spoke first, looking aggrieved and pointing at me. "Sir, her cat scratched me. Look, my hand is scratched like this. What if it has rabies? And she hit me in the hospital. Look at my face. You have to stand up for me."
