The police officer's gaze fell on me. "Is it as she said?"
I shook my head and gave a bitter smile, "Sir, she barged into my ward and provoked me first, and she even tried to take my cat. Oliver scratched her by accident in self-defense. And she was the one who pulled my hair and hit me first, so I fought back."
I wasn't exactly lying when I said that. After all, it was indeed Aria who provoked me first.
"Amelia, how dare you talk nonsense in front of the police? Look at my injuries; they are much worse than hers. She definitely started it." Aria said, raising her hand to show the police her wounds.
The police officer frowned and looked at us with a scrutinizing gaze. "Alright, stop arguing. We will check the hospital's surveillance footage for verification. Both of you are at fault, regardless of who started it. Come over and sign, and have your family members come over."
Aria gave me a resentful glare and turned to make a phone call. She was probably calling Henry.
I opened my phone and scrolled through my contacts. Henry was pinned at the top. I knew that even if I called him, he wouldn't care about me.
I called Nova, but there was no answer. Usually, in such cases, she was in surgery.
I didn't know when her surgery would end, so I put my phone away.
Soon, Henry arrived. He saw me first, frowned, and then turned his gaze to Aria. "Aria, does it hurt? Are you seriously injured?"
Aria collapsed into his arms, her eyes immediately turning red. "Henry, you finally came. You don't know how badly I was bullied just now. Not only was my hand scratched, but my face was slapped. See if my face is disfigured. What if I'm scarred? If I'm disfigured, will you still like me?"
Henry tenderly cupped her face and kept comforting her, "How could I not? You're the kindest and most gentle person in the world. Even if your face is scarred, you are still more beautiful than some malicious women."
I knew he was clearly referring to me.
Henry gently wiped her tears. "What happened? How did you get scratched by a cat out of nowhere?"
Aria raised her chin high and pointed at Oliver in my hands. "It was her. Not only did she hit me, but she also let her cat scratch me. Sir, regardless of who started it, the fact is that the cat scratched me. I demand compensation."
Henry looked at me with a stern expression, his eyes filled with undisguised irritation. "Why is it always you? Amelia, you are truly relentless and as malicious as ever, even your cat is just like you."
"You know each other?" The police officer stared at Henry suspiciously.
Henry didn't respond, but Aria spoke up, "Sir, I don't want her compensation. That cat scratched me, and I demand it be euthanized."
I stroked Oliver and looked at Aria coldly. "What right do you have to demand my cat be euthanized?"
Henry sneered, "It scratched Aria. Euthanasia is already letting it off easy."
"You have no right to do that. Aria provoked me first, and I will pursue this legally to the end. Henry, don't push me. I can ignore you keeping a mistress, but if you dare to harm Oliver, I will fight you to the death."
