Chapter 97 Woah,I'm so sorry about that
Ava's p.o.v
I was looking at myself in the mirror when mom walked in with a grin on her face.
“Mmh you look stunning! You made the right choice with that dress,” she came and stood behind me while looking at me through the mirror.
“Have you called him already?” She asked
“Yes I have…we agreed to meet in the park because he is taking his girl to play tennis with her mates,” I puffed my hair in a loose bun.
“Oh okay then,I wish you luck and don't ruin the moment,” she pecked me on the cheek.
“Thanks mom,I think I should get going now,” I grabbed my purse from the drawer and we moved out of the room.
I drove to the park and I first took a deep breath before stepping out.
I looked around the park and when my eyes landed where the kids were playing tennis from,I moved towards that court and saw him sitting on the bench so I moved exactly where he was.
“Uhm hey,” I tapped on his shoulder.
“Oh you came!” He stood up from his seat and offered me a hand shake.
What,You thought I wouldn't make it?” I asked.
“Yeah, but good to see you, take a seat please,”
“How long is the game?” I asked.
“Well, they play for one hour since they're kids,” he replied with a gaze on his daughter.
“Oh okay,so here you go…I bought us some smoothies on my way here,” I handed him the bag after pulling out mine.
“Oh you wouldn't have,” he got the bag from my hands.
“No,it's okay…it's always a kind gesture to bring something when meeting up with people,” I squeezed my lips together.
“Aww thank you,I appreciate,” he sipped on his smoothie.
“So,I thought this would be a family hang out,” he felt his gaze on me but I looked away.
“Whaat do you mean by that?” He asked.
“Uhm,I think it would make sense when you two parents show up to her game and give her emotional support,” I sipped.
“Ava,me and Alina are just coparenting and weekends are when I am with the girl.
That's why you found us together yesterday and even today…so the rest of the days, she's with her mom,” he replied and I sighed.
“So mom had the right instinct that they're not together! Wow!” I said under my breath.
“Did you say something?” He asked.
“No,nothing!”
“And how's your husband?” He looked everywhere else but not my eyes.
“I divorced that striper last year,” I said in one go.
“You're being real?!”
“Yes,he was still stripping and cheating behind my back,” I exclaimed.
“Oh wow! Some people never change,” he sipped.
“Why didn't you reach out?”
“When?”
“When I discovered about you and that girl you raped? Why didn't you make an effort to reach out and explain yourself?” I asked again.
“Well, that same day,I got a call from Alina that they were admitted in the hospital so I rushed there and Kara needed a blood transfusion and luckily after running a few tests,I turned out to be her compatible donor,” he explained.
“Woah,I'm so sorry about that,”
“It's all good…she's now perfectly fine and we had to stay in hospital for almost a week but when I called your number, you didn't pick me up and next thing I received was your resignation letter from the office and it broke me because at least you would have given me a chance to explain myself,” his tone was so down.
“Yes you're right,I would have given you time to explain yourself but I was very mad at you so I couldn't think straight and amidst all that,Herman came back in my life as Mr.right and I welcomed him back in,” I replied.
“I actually don't blame you for anything because it all started with me so you had every right to act the way you acted,” he turned his head and looked at me.
I looked deep in his eyes and gulped down some saliva because it was getting hot in between us.
“I missed you Ava,so much…every single day,” he whispered and my heart beat lost it's pace.
I curved my lips in a smile and my eyes started getting watery when he lifted his hand and caressed my cheek with his thumb.
“I really wanted to carry you in my arms yesterday when I saw you standing at the till but I was with my girl so I had to keep it together and besides I still thought you were with Herman,” he glanced at my lips and I bit my lower lip.
“Daddy daddy, did you see that?” Her girl screamed from the court.
“Yes baby, well done,” he cheered for her and she ran back to play.
“But did you really see what she was doing haha?” I covered my hand over my mouth.
“Haha I would be lying if I said yes…my entire focus was on your beautiful face,” he smiled at me.
We talked about different things and we couldn't stop laughing out loud because he made quite a number of jokes here and there.
The game was done and Kara came over to meet his dad.
“Dad,I really enjoyed the game today,” she grinned.
“That's good to know,” he stood up and kissed her on the cheek.
“Hey auntie Ava,good to see you again,”
“Good to see you too Kara, nice game you played back there,” I smiled.
“Oh thank you so much,” she smiled as well.
“Ava got you some smoothie to soothe yourself,” he gave her the tin.
“That is so thoughtful of you auntie Ava,I'm grateful,” she started sipping
“I think we should get going guys,” Liam suggested and we all stood up.
“Uhm,baby wait for me from the car please, let me first talk to Ava,” he gave her the car keys.
“Bye auntie,thanks for the smoothie,”
“You're welcome Kara,take care sweetie,”
She walked to the car and we both put our gaze towards her till she sat in the car.
“So,when can I see you again?” He moved closer to me.
“When do you wish to see me again?” I also moved and covered the space between us.
“What if I say tonight?”
“Then tonight it is,”
“Okay bye Ava,I don't want to misbehave because my girl is very nosey, she might be seeing us from there haha,” he got my hand and kissed it before he walked away.
I got goosebumps and I believe he wanted more than a kiss on the hand just like me but we had to keep it that way for now.
I felt so good and it has been a long time since I had this feeling.
I also went to my car and drove back home with my cheeks hurting because of too much blushing.
