Ava's p.o.v
“Hey baby,what happened? Why this sudden visit?” She walked up to me and firmly held my shoulders.
I didn't have the right words to say but I just broke down and cried.
She hugged me so tight while gently rubbing my back and we moved on the couch where we sat down.
“What is it this time round? Who hurt my baby?” She whispered.
I wanted to answer her questions but somehow I failed to come up with a sentence because I was shivering.
“It's okay baby,whenever you're ready,”
She kissed my forehead and made me lay on her lap as she rubbed my shoulder.
I cried as much as I wanted till I couldn't anymore and once my eyes couldn't let out any more tears,I stayed on her lap for a while.
“Mom,where are the girls?” I sat upright.
“Uhm,Alma is in the kitchen while Halsey is at school,” she replied.
“Ohh okay then…I think I should go to my room and take some rest before she gets back,”
She just nodded and I stood up from my seat then proceeded to the bedroom.
I threw my lazy body on the bed and my eyes shut then sleep took over me.
I don't know how long I was sleeping but when I woke up I first went to the bathroom and cleaned myself then after dressing up,I stepped out to go look for mom but I overheard them laughing with Halsey in the living room and I slowly walked there to join them.
“Mama!!” She came running and jumped on me with her tiny hands wrapped around my neck and her legs all over my waist.
I pecked her on the cheek as we hugged tightly.
“Be careful,your mom is not feeling well so go easy on her,” mom told her.
“Mama,are you sick?” She placed her hand over my neck to feel my temperature and I curved my lips into a faint smile.
“No baby,I'm not sick…just a little tired from work that's all,” I pecked her on the cheek again.
“Oh sorry about that Mama but you should call daddy to take care of work so that you stay behind at home and rest,”
We made eye contact with mom because by dad,we both knew she meant Liam!.
“You guys come and sit down here with me,”
I carried her and we sat on the couch next to mom.
“You really had a sound sleep I guess,”
“I did and I don't know for how long I have been sleeping!”
“Well,for some good hours haha…but you can go back to sleep because no one will bother you here, not even this stubborn girl,” she tickled Halsey and she started giggling.
“No,I'm feeling fresh now…I will definitely sleep more at night,” I replied.
“Guys,dinner is ready,”
“Oh hey ma'am,good evening,” Alma greeted me.
“Hey sweetie,how have you been?” I asked.
“I'm okay,though we missed you so much,” she said with her cute smile.
“Well,no more of that because we are now going to be living together everyday,” I smiled back.
“Ohh that's good news then,” she replied.
“Okay guys,let's go and have dinner,” mom stood up and we also followed her behind.
“I guess I have been sleeping for a very long time because if it's now dinner time then those were some good hours!” I said out loud.
“Yeah,I guess you needed it and that's why we left you to rest for that long,” mom replied.
We sat down on the table and Alma served us food then when she took her seat,we all started eating.
It was grilled chicken with pasta and this meal was so tasty…I really don't know how she cooks it but it was fingerlicking.
We finished eating and Halsey went to the kitchen to help out Alma with the dishes while I moved back on the couch with mom.
“Baby,you told Alma a while ago that you guys will be staying together for good! What did you mean by that?” mom asked.
“Uhm,because me and Herman are no more,” I sighed.
“What do you mean by you're no more?” she asked.
“Mom,me and Herman divorced this early morning,” I replied.
“No way!!!”
“Yes, mom,” I replied.
“What happened? No wonder you weren't yourself when you walked in that door in the morning!”
I told her everything that I was facing in that house with Herman and why I first left the girls here for a while because I was stalking him.
“Come here my baby,I thought that man had changed for good when you decided to give him a second chance,” mom pulled me into a hug.
“Yes mom,I also thought so but unfortunately he was still stripping and sleeping around behind my back,” I cursed under my breath.
“Well his loss, I'm glad that you were brave enough to call off this marriage without hearing his other excuses or let me say lies!”
“He was really good at it and it was highly impossible to suspect him that he was playing dirty behind my back,”
“Well,his days are over and now you're a free soul my baby,” she pecked my forehead.
My mom is my safest place because no matter the mess I make in my life,she never judges me and her love for me stays the same forever.
“So what's your next plan if I may ask?”
“Uhm,I now want to focus on my career and my girl,” I replied.
“Okay baby,you will definitely be fine,” she rubbed my back.
“Can you imagine we were planning our second wedding because he had proposed to me again a few weeks back!” I slapped myself in the face.
“Haha,baby your life is like a movie I must say,” we both laughed out loud.
We talked about different things and she made a few jokes here and there to cheer me up and trust me when I say that it really lightened up my mood.
“Mama,we are done doing dishes…look at my hands,” she lifted up her hands which were all wet.
“She loves playing in the water,” Mom said.
“Baby you should go and change your clothes if you're done there because they're all wet,” I told her.
She ran up to her room to get changed and I stayed there with mom.
“Should we watch some movies?” she asked.
“Yeah sure,an action movie will be fine,”
“Action??” she frowned.
“Haha yes action…if it's not action then no thank you,” I folded my hands.
“Come on! You can't be serious right now,”
“Mom,I'm serious haha,”
“It's okay…let's just keep talking about random topics because I can't watch an action movie,” she threw her hands in the air.
“I was just pulling your leg Haha…let's watch some romantic drama,”
“Perfect choice,” she tuned and we started watching.
