Chapter 98 The end
Ava's p.o.v
I reached home and overheard mom playing with Halsey in her room so I just went straight to my room.
I wanted to spend some time alone so I locked myself in the room so that no one would interrupt my peace.
My phone buzzed and it was a message from Liam,I quickly picked up my phone to read it.
“Hey,where do you stay nowadays?”
“At my mom's,why?”
“I just wanted to know that's all,”
“Oh okay then,”
I waited for his next text message but unfortunately he didn't send me anymore.
I put my phone away and I laid my head on the pillow with a cute smile wearing my face.
I was napping when I heard a knock on my door and I stood up to go check out who it was.
“Oh hey Alma,”
“Hey ma'am, good afternoon…uhm,lunch is served,” she said with a smile.
“Wait,it's already lunch time?”
“Yes Ma'am,”
“But how did you know that I came back?” I asked.
“Well,by the time you walked in,I was in the kitchen so I saw you moving upstairs to your room,” she replied
“Oh okay then,let me go and get mom plus the girl,”
She walked back to the kitchen and I also went to mom's room.
I called them and we moved to the table and we had lunch together.
“Hey how did it go?” She pulled me to the kitchen with her as she was taking the plate.
“Mom please haha,”
“Girl,you better give me all the tea,” she whispered
I told her everything about how it went down and she credited herself for pushing me into meeting Liam again.
“So,what's the plan now?”
“Mom,we are just going with the flow…we are not rushing anything right now,”
“Okay then,as long as you're happy my baby,” she kissed me on my cheek.
We all sat down on the couch while watching some tv show which Halsey enjoys but I was scrolling through my phone because I'm not a big fan anyway haha.
We heard a knock on the door and Alma went to check it out but the moment she opened the door,her lips curved into this big smile which reached her eyes and we all wondered what was going on.
“Alma,who's there?” Mom asked
“Please come in,” she opened the door wide and the person walked in but it was none other than Liam and my jaw dropped to the floor.
“Daddy!” Halsey ran and jumped over him and he carried her up in his hands.
She wrapped her tiny hands around his neck while taking a twirl.
“I missed you dad,so much,”
“I missed you too baby,” he kissed her on the forehead.
“Promise me that you won't leave us again,” she put up her pinky.
“I promise baby,im back for good,” he tangled his pinky with hers and they made a pinky promise.
“I love you dad,”
“I love you more princess,” they hugged really tight.
“Uhm,hey guys…I'm sorry to interrupt your evening because I came unannounced but I couldn't wait any longer,” he said out loud.
“Come on Liam,take a seat please,” Mom gestured to him to join us on the couch.
“Before I sit down,I would like everyone in this room to know that I love Ava so much and I'm sorry for not fighting for our love back then but from today onwards,I would like to spend the rest of my life with her,” he put down Halsey and went down on his knee.
“Ava,I know I'm not perfect but I promise to be the man you ever needed in your life…I promise to love you with your flaws,I promise to be your shoulder to cry on when times get tough,I promise to be your friend you can confine in…I didn't come with the ring but,miss Ava,will you take me back in as your forever friend?” He laid out his hand.
At this point,my tears were touching my cheeks and my nose was running due to sniffing.
“Yes,yes I do take you back in,” I put my hand in his and lifted him back to stand on his toes.
The rest of the people in the room started clapping and cheering for both of us.
“I love you Ava,”
“I love you too Liam,” he pulled me into his embrace and he crushed his lips on mine.
I forgot that we were standing before mom and the girls. Then I kissed him back passionately and his lips tasted sweeter than cherries.
“Uhm,guys you should get a room,” Mom said under her breath but loud enough for us to hear and we immediately broke the kiss.
“We are sorry guys,we were just caught in the moment,” I apologized but my cheeks were literally on fire.
“We don't mind,it's okay…Liam bring your woman and we sit down for a while,” Mom said.
The rest is history and that's how we were able to patch up things together with Liam and one month later,he proposed to me with a ring which was a surprise for me because he planned out everything with mom and of course I accepted to marry him.
The following week,it was our wedding and we invited a few close friends and family to celebrate with us.
We started living together and we agreed that we would tell Halsey the truth about her real dad when she turns eighteen but other than that,she will continue calling Liam her Dad.
Kara,Liam's daughter also came over for weekends and they bonded with Halsey hence becoming friends with time which was a good call.
Problems came in here and there but we stuck together as a family and we would discuss the possible solution together because we were counting on each other.
Mom on the other hand kept complaining why we took long to visit her and that she really missed Halsey running up and down creating chaos in the house.
We decided to take Halsey and Kara to mom's place for the weekend so that we can also get time for ourselves when they're away.
A lot happened in our lives before settling down to this kind of life but what kept us going is the love we had for each other at the end of the day.
Liam gifted me randomly in a way of reassuring his love for me and this warmed my heart because it was indeed a sweet gesture from him.
